Perfectly decent performance today, one of only a couple of players who can claim that.

Everyone who wrote him off as soon as we'd signed him has to get another victory lap in because we lost the game though, of course.

He was one of the better ones out there for us today but somehow it only further demonstrated what a bizarre decision it was to make him target no.1.

He's far from the main culprit, but it still makes zero fecking sense why we signed him. Team is completely unbalanced.

Plenty think he is good.

He was voted Chelsea's player of the season 2 years ago, dont you know.

I know it’s harsh, he’s not crap. I still don’t rate him though. He’s totally mediocre and I don’t know why we signed him. Would’ve made sense on a free, £55m is insanity considering the other gaps in the squad.

I thought he played well. 7 tackles made and 7 won. 1 interception. 93% pass completion. This loss isn't on him.

Show all the stats. How many dribbles, chances created, shots. How many balls lost etc.

He is not good enough if he is playing it safe and his only strengths are off the ball.

Thought he played well today, great work ethic and some excellent touches.

Barely played this season. Needed some minutes.

Honestly can't tell if he rebuilt his confidence after pelvis surgery and recent one... but yeah, definitely need more minutes.

Thought he was shite like almost everyone else. Pointless signing and is really showing how clueless ETH is in terms of recruitment.

How in the flying feck are people blaming him today? These posts are absolutely pre-written. Hilariously bad takes!

5 dribbles attempted. 3 successful. Don't know how many chances he created. 1 key pass. 2 shots. 1 blocked. Lost possession 4 times.

He was better than Bruno and Casemiro. I didn't want him, but I think he played decently.

I felt like he was one of the few who had a good game in your team. He should be playing higher though, he needs to replace Bruno, he brings much more control, which you really need, but Bruno has those moments og magic when he can turn a game around but he's too unreliable in the long run.

Shouldn't be receiving criticism as I think he's actually been good and was one of our better players again. One of the few who actually can keep the ball under pressure, play it quickly, get stuck in, compete physically... give him a different name and people wouldn't be criticizing him IMO. But anyway.

You can’t be our marquee Summer midfield signing and come in to be ‘good’, he’s a floor raiser but does nothing to raise the ceiling of the team.

He looked good and quite fast, I think he's playing pretty much as expected. We need to figure out how to use him though because this setup doesn't seem effective, yet he seems the best out of Casemiro, Bruno and Mason.

Not sure if there is a single player out there who could do that for us? The foundations are so weak, nothing much to build up from.

Fair point, just don’t think he moves the needle anywhere near enough for a starting midfielder purchase.

I’ve been a massive backer of EtH but I do not get this signing at this time, given what we require.

100% agree. I think, Mount is a good player and I think, the price wasn't crazy (I know, some people say it was, I am a bit ambivalent on that) but when it became obvious, we are interested, I wondered what the plan would be. Only possible solution was ETH was trying to go for the en vogue Box midfield like City. I thought back then, this is a bit of a very ambitious move given our Fullbacks aren't exactly "obvious fits" for that and additionally, I don't rate Bruno as an 8 all too much. So I agree completely, he wouldn't have been my first pick as well. But now he is here and I think, it isn't impossible, to find a way for the team to work with him in it. Actually, from a sole game intelligence perspective, I'd be more optimistic about Mount than I am on Bruno and Rashford. Especially these days.

His best game so far, still no idea why we bought him for that amount.

I don't even think it's that much when you consider how Maguire was bought for £80m (?) and Donny for £40m. It's just because we know he had one year left on his contract and it's Chelsea.

A year on a contract is a significant part of any transfer deal/negotiation, not sure what are you trying to say?

What a useless player. I cant believe we paid 60m for him. Cant believe we let Spurs take Maddison and get this guy.

Yeah I mean this was my entire issue with signing him. If he's a secondary midfield purchase then sure he's perfect, but he was our first target. And then I had people telling me we didn't need a DM because 32 year old Casemiro was our DM (when we still didn't have a single back up)

"This evidence against my original position just shows how right I was even more."

Was better than Bruno and Rashford today. Mounts slowly becoming good for us

Mount is a player who would certainly thrive if surrounded by others who are interested in fast and passing intense football around the opposition's box. There were several moments today in which he did not waste time and space but put the ball in good positions where the next player should have kept the momentum. I personally would like to see him with players like Sancho or Martial, maybe Pellistri or Eriksen.

This is exactly what I saw today. When the other United players got the ball from him, they waited patiently for Palace midfielders and defenders to get into position before passing it sideways. What is the point of having an intelligent player like Mount if you're gonna partner him with a bunch of useless players who have no interest in playing nice combination football where link-up is a key part?

He's utter shite, that was him at his best and he hardly affected our play on-the-ball at all.

A nothing player.

I think he’s a good player I just have no idea why we paid so much for someone who doesn’t really fit into the team unless it’s instead of Bruno.

Our recruitment given our FFP issues and lack of funds was mental, it’s impossible to make any sense of it.
