Sorry, what?
People are assuming ten hag was the only one wanting mount and saying it was only because he saw him in Holland.

Thats not the case. If you want to criticise our tactics and style of play I'm all in, and I agree he takes the prime blame. But that doesn't mean you literally go out and make shit up in other areas just because you want to moan some more

Prime blame? He takes all the blame for our tactics and style of play.

You don't think ETH had anything to do with signings of Antony, Mount, Onana, Amrabat?

Oh of course he did. He will give a list of players he will feel he can work with.. but that’s where the big boys at the club, the recruitment team etc etc come in. They can say maybe not Mason Mount but what about this guy? Or okay Mason Mount but you wait a season and get him for free… ETH doesn’t prepare and sign any contracts. There are plenty of people that can say no or advise against before pen goes to contract. Infact thats kind of the whole point of a management team at a football club. A manager isn’t supposed to be recruitment and everything else that goes into signing a player.

Why? Why will I not blame the guy who wanted control of the transfers and hand-picked these players. The upper management being shit doesn't absolve him of picking these players for recruitment.

I want to be a CEO of the industry I work in but unfortunately they won’t let me.

Hm. Why is this thread 119 pages long? I don't think he's played that many minutes?

I wonder if its a 'dont fancy being in the team about to be spanked by Arsenal' injury?

“It can't be, because we make very good agreements about it from the start,” Ten Hag said when those reports were put to him. “How we cooperate in that manner, for player decisions, transfers, it's always 50-50. We both have a veto, the club, represented by John Murtough, and me. So there can never be a distraction.”
It was literally Murtough and Ten Haag. Yes other people could have said this or that but it was them 2. But Ten Haag gets most of the blame. He literally worked with most of the players he signed. He knew exactly what he was getting. He didn't veto it did he? He said fk yes. Antony fk yes. I dont care he doesn't have a right foot and yes he is worth 80 mill.
Thats what he said. Lets stop making up that other people at the club have blame. It was him. Ok. Not 100 percent him but 90 percent him. 60 percent. I dont care how much. But mostly him. Even if he had 0 say. Lets say he was just a coach and recruitment was 100 percent Murtough. He would still be to blame. Why? Because he should have kicked down Murtaughs door and told him that he's fking mad for signing Antony for 80 mill and Onana and the rest. But he didnt. He knew what would happen and did it anyway

Extremely injury prone expensive backup for our captain who is a better player and is basically never injured. Except now, and Mounts injured anyway. Just add to the list of deadwood really.

No of course he’d agree to players signed, I’m not saying he hasn’t. My point is he isn’t a recruitment specialist and shouldn’t have so much say in transfers. Transfers will go through many People before they are wearing our badge

Our transfer policy and recruitment policy for a club this size is outrageously bad. In my humble opinion, in the last 11 years only Bruno has been a success. 1 signing out of over a billion pounds worth. ONE SIGNING. It’s mind blowing really. Staggering. This isn’t exclusive to ETH, this has been the case for many years.

40% of ETHs signings have been freebies or loans. To put that into perspective, pep has had one loan signing In his whole time at city.

a club of this size and magnitude should not be excepting so many loans. We should be loaning players out not the other way round.

It’s genuinely poor. Everything about this club and how it’s ran is poor, probably nothing more than its recruitment.

To be fair, one of Madrid's best players this season is a loan. Nothing wrong with one or two to fill gaps for squad depth, and City are a cheat club so shouldn't be held as the standard. It's just that ALL of ETH's loans are crap. Cavani was a useful loan for example.

Probably signs on as injured so people don't have to actually watch him and realise how limited he is

This is one of the reasons I think we should sack ETH, just a waste money and time and not because of the injuries but we just didn’t put thought into this signing at all. This tells me this manager has no idea what he wants to do with this team, a major indictment on his ability going forward as our manager

Imagine how massive of a clown of a manager you have to be to want to sign a player who’s known to be very injury prone, on the last year of his contract for an exorbitant price when there was plenty of better value available in the market.

Cavani wasn't a loan. He was our player. Agree with your overall point though.

Who are these good usefull loans that we had over the years? The great Ighalo? Who is listed as a 12m loan fee on transfermarkt?

Sabitzer wasnt bad and personally i liked Reguilon (who would have been a welcome addition to the squad in the second part of the season). Weghorst was crap but that is to be expected of a player of his quality but was there a better option? Amrabat was worth the gamble. He played an excellent world cup and was ready to make a step up after Fiorentina. Lets not forget that there were many rumours of other clubs also wanting to have Amrabat. Buttland sat on the bench and filled up numbers in training. He was signed for that.

This is a Mason Mount topic but you still use this topic to make stuff up about ETH. ETH his loans arent crap. What exactly do you expect from ETH his loans? They mostly did what was expected of them. Loans usually arent going to become star players....

Onctge bright side it's good that qe signed him this season.

If we didnt sign him ETH supporters would have said that not signing him has hindered ETH from implementing his style of play, how he was going to be crucial to the Team etc.

The only thing I 'made up' was mistaking Cavani for a loan. Calm down.

I can say with utmost confidence that there isn't a universe out there, alternate or normal, where United fans would regret not signing Mount. I've watched him at the top of his game for Chelsea and not once have I ever thought about signing him. And I think we've already established that replacing Bruno at the 10 is pure delusion.

Has there been any explanation as to what all these injuries actually were and how they were picked up? Other than Martinez and Maguire, I don’t recall a single player this season being subbed off due to injury.

Rashford against Coventry

The amount of fecking money we’ve burnt on toasters like these only in Ten Hag’s tenure is unforgivable.

Everyone and their mum knew he was a bang average midfielder when fit, had a terrible last season, entered the last year in his deal and refused Chelsea’s offer for an extension. Yet, we bailed Chelsea out with 60M.

Varane & Lindelof away to Brentford!

As he has been injured so much, cant make any conlusions of him as a signing.

I never understood it though and still have that feeling. We knew Mainoo was comig through, the manager hasalreaday said he wanted to use him and the injury was a setback, we have Fernandes....at the time he was signed we still thought we had a good player in Casemeiro even though there were concerns.....The fee just looks mad for a player we didnt need, I think he is a good player, but one didnt improve us and we didnt need.....still if he was fit could have stuck him in for Rashford to be fair

but where do you want him to play? Who do you drop? And before you start he is not a no.8
Forget all the No.8 or numbers 6 and 4 garbage.
He is a high performing midfielder that has a good range of passing, a high work ethic and an eye for a goal and all done at the highest level in club football and he has still not reached his peak years yet.
Football is now a squad game and if that squad is to be successful then it needs depth to cover injuries or simply top players to change in position for freshness and longevity through the season.
