Surprised people haven't been able to figure out him. The moment he turned left, I knew it was a goal. Such a skilled and precise shot but looks so easy .

Damn this kid is class, really showing great talent and finishing skills. He can be the best striker in the world in the comming years.

agree the moment he shifted to left I knew what he was going to do, if I was the defender would have flew down to block. Norwich defenders backed off , for a two footed player he slightly prefers left side and is a good thing as he rarely misses on his left foot.

I mentioned it in the match day thread...but those daisy-cutters are sublime. Unstoppable type of shot from him and he makes it look easy.

Loved his "I'm the one celebration"

That's like saying why could Robben, Garrincha or Messi do the exact same thing for an entire career.

The problem is defenders coming towards them (him) can know what is coming, but they will never know when, which means they have to second guess and in turn, create hesistancy and stuttery motion, either that or overcommit and get easily bypassed.

What's going to happen eventually is a runner to be proactive and one behind him to sweep up... by that time, with Greenwood occupying two men a time, you'd hope our movement and ability to triangulate passes simply takes out swathes of opposition with a couple of passes.

Fun times ahead.

Honestly, his striking technique is Messi-like. I really think that he should start on the right side of our attack and we should focus on building a midfield of perfect servants. Rashford, Martial and Greenwood can be trusted to score goals and they compliment each others.

Yup. Big thing though is that they need the midfield/fullbacks to compliment, like Liverpool have, which we obviously dont. Direction our squad building seems to be going in though seems like its aiming for a lot more creativity through midfield and just functional fullbacks from an attacking sense.

We see players like him once every 10-15 years. Just a breath taking talent.

I love seeing him nail the fundamentals to his game too. Great first touch, good dribble and rarely loses the ball. Constantly makes good decisions. God bless this kid

Nice company that. Anyway, I don't even know how good this kid can become. Sky's the limit, but if he hits let's say van Persie levels I'll be over the fecking moon.

It boggles the mind people don't understand or appreciate what a Pogba and complementary progressive midfielder would bring to this team.

Once bodies get dragged out of position and spaces start opening up, with midfielders who can actually then supply the passes, there's potential for absolute mayhem.

Players come along with 'repeat technique' that's essentially unstoppable and the preventative measure is to not let the situation arise in the first place, with even that being easier said than done. Greenwood has obvious world class shooting technique with no backlift or indicators to when he'll take his shot. He can do that same thing for a whole career and there never be a real answer to it.

Also has to be factored in that he's got the intelligence to better exploit his threats as he develops.

The hype with him is justified, barring injury or pure commitment, it won't be a surprise if he's genuinely one of the best strikers of the 20's; the raw tools are there so it's on him how he utilises them!

Your post makes me moist to be honest.

Exactly unlike what the commentator was saying, Greenwood is pure technique. There are only two things that can stop him, himself or preventing him from having the ball around the box. I'm not kidding when I compare his striking technique to Messi's, he strikes the ball with perfect balance, weight and angle at a rate that is exceptional. It's a bit like Juninho Pernambucano and free kicks, the ability to repeat a perfect technique is what makes these type of technicians, exceptional.

He's a child. If he were still at school, he'd be a sixth former right now.

It's okay for him to rely on a particular skill whilst he's getting used to the game. We've all done it in a million different areas of life.

Once he gets used to the environment, he'll feel more comfortable bringing in some variety. I'm sure he's capable of doing it today, but it's about him feeling confident about it.

What a shot, just precise and strong enough so keeper don't stand a chance of saving it although he's close.
We have a gem on our hands.

Before the start of the season, I decided to go optimistic and predict 15 goals for Greenwood. At this rate, Mason may well reach this figure, which would be amazing

He is good. Probably a better finisher than Rashford.

He is able to execute what he is conceiving in his mind. He knew in his mind to put the ball low into the bottom right corner at just the correct speed.

He will be good.

The question is how do we develop him into a physical specimen like Rashford? Rashford was a scrawny kid when he made his debut but is now strong enough against PL defenders. We need to bulk him up within the year so that he can feature more consistently on the right.

The kid is destined for greatness already. First season and he is putting up remarkable numbers. England really producing top talents across the country.
Think that just comes with time. He's still only 18.25 years old. Rashford made his debut at age 18.33 years old.

I don't think people don't appreciate Pogba's talent. Its more because there is always a "midfielder to unlock Pogba" argument. First it was Carrick, then it was Matic, and then Fred. At some point he has to take some responsibility for the consistency in his own performances. The consistency is what frustrates some people and why they do not appreciate him.

I think his point is that a fixed midfield would bring so much to us, which is absolutely true. We're 5th without having Pogba all season and not having anyone good as the 10. Fix those 2 spots and it should be a lot better.

He reminds me of Robben more than Van Persie.

Whilst I get he moves a bit like Van Persie - Van Persie never struck me as a deadly player and was more deadly on the volley.

I was much more scared of Arjen Robben once he got on that left foot of his & how he was consistent with that significant finish of his & I reckon that's the type of player Greenwood might be but even more deadly forwards version.

When he came on I sat there and thought. 'Yep he's bagging one here' and I can't of been the only one.

Seems to score the same kind of goal. Always finding the bottom corner of the goal. Another great finish. 9 goals and 3 assists. Fantastic return.

Kept arguing last month thatwe should not be signing Haaland because of this guy. Would have made no sense at all. This kid is as good as any teenage forward in the game. Been clear for years in the academy that this one is different.

He's been the best thing about this season! Tremendous that he's left footed too, we haven't had a scoring threat cutting in from the right since Ronaldo! 9 goals and 3 assists is a great return, he's clearly our best option on the right and only his youth will see him not starting all the biggest games for which he is fit for the foreseeable future.

Timing is everything! He's not especially fast, but he has brilliant timing, and he utilizes the fake shot perfectly in order to freeze defenders, to open space for a shot. Rashford could take a lesson there!

Yeah agree with this. Lot of young players get figured out and have to adapt their games, but Greenwood has that rare ability and two great feet that will keep him from being predictable

Him being left-footed is awesome, it adds extra flair and unpredictability to his game.
