Deja vuStill EL left.
I think he’ll be our all time top scorer - very early for such predictions but a prediction is what it is.
Great goal. My only criticism of him is, and that is probably due to being very young and inexperienced, he sometimes wanders randomly and ends up in places he is not needed to be. There was one passage when after giving ball to Bruno in middle, he too ended up in centre, tried to take ball from him, couldn't and we lost possession.
On positive side, he keeps trying and really gets involved in attacks. Always a plus to have a forward who we can trust to find target at half a chance. Helps in games like this when nothing else works.
Exactly. He needs to get in front of the goal as much as possible and not wander too much outside of the box. I don't know what coaching staff turning him into but we don't need another rashford on the right. We need another RVP. Hence I said earlier, given his talent and more importantly given his strength he is wasted on the right. I hope this is a minor bump till we get Sancho, and then Greenwood will be free to do what he can best. The shining light right now along with Martial for me, Mason is as deadly in front of goal as it gets, pure natural, and he's got a good all round game as well.
Because if he moves to middle, our right back offers nothing in terms of attacking play and the whole right side would be free.Exactly. That's what I said. I hope this is temporary arrangement till we get a RW.Because if he moves to middle, our right back offers nothing in terms of attacking play and the whole right side would be free.
I’m sure someone pointed this out before but haven’t almost all of his goals been important? He tends to score equalisers or goals that put us in the lead much more often than goals which pad out a victory.
Opponent | Final Score | Greenwood's goal |

Newcastle | 4-1 | Second goal to give 2-1 lead |
Norwich | 4-0 | Fourth goal |
Watford | 3-0 | Third goal |
Brighton | 3-0 | First goal |
Bournemouth | 5-2 | First goal - Equalizer Second goal - To extend lead from 3-2 to 4-2 |
Villa | 3-0 | Second goal |
West Ham | 1-1 | Equalizer goal |
We'd have secured Top 4 by now if this kid had been played more often this season. Would like to see him stay wider at times to give himself a bit more space to attack but that's nitpicking.
Exactly. You want to see him in 1v1s and running at people and then when he gets into the box his finishing and decision-making are already pretty good. He's way more than just a fox in the box.It must be instructions to come inside and get involved centrally to take on a shot.
Cuz for me he can do more than just that. He can do a lot more of the work that led to the chance for Ighalo. I want him to take on the full backs more cuz he can obviously go either side.
Greenwood isn't the type of player who is just going to dribble past players like Sancho. He'll do it occasionally, and he'll do it on the break to bring the ball up, but that's different from even say Rashford.Exactly. Agreed.Probably saved our season with that goal. What a talent

This is true. The more times he gets the ball in that position the worse it will become for the defenders trying to guess which way he is going. We just need to get him one on one as many times as possible per game.Nice skill to setup the Ighalo's chance. Iirc it was the first time he tried to do it in the match and it worked out really well.
He should do it more as the opponent's fullback tent to try to prevent him from cutting inside. It won't be a problem since he's two-footed.

He's matched some of our best players for goals scored by a teenager. He's taken to playing with the first team as well as Rashford did.Let's calm down a bit. We have had too many one-season wonders in the past.
Januzaj sprung to mind. Even a more mature player like Michu used to be hyped up pretty much, only to fade to nothing...
If Sancho arrives, this kid will start on the bench and will have to earn his starting place as he has already this season. If Sancho comes then he will have to fight it out with Rashford and Martial cause this kid ain't going now

Greenwood has more talent in his toe than Januzaj ever showed.Let's calm down a bit. We have had too many one-season wonders in the past.

What the freak? How am I in this thread and everyone is bouncing on this guy again, when the past few games you all said he's been overhyped him and that we should calm down. Now everyone is back on the hype train again.
4 players for 3 positions and 4 if you include Bruno's. Every player with get lot of starts.
I've pinned my hopes on Rashford but if Greenwood wants to break it, he's more than welcomed to.
It's strange seeing United have not one, but two Academy players who are actually good goalscorers. Who was the last one we produced? Mark Hughes? Nice to see, after all the false dawns of David Healy, Alex Notman, Will Keane and James Wilson.
I do not get this.. If we had a player like Sancho yesterday, we would not need to start Bruno or Rashford, have them on the bench and bring them on later.
That one player could be the difference between 1-1 and 2-1 considering we have drawn so many games this season.
He is effective when it matters in front of goal. No point being busy on the pitch with no end product like Lingard. We want more of Harry Kanes , Sergio Aguero type ruthleness. It's the natural ebb and flow of redcafe
For Mason, he needs to work on being more present and effective for longer periods but overall his progress is hugely encouraging.
I'd have been thrilled with a 5-8 goal season with most of those coming in the cups, safe to say he's blown all expectations out of the water. It's the natural ebb and flow of redcafe

I get what you're saying but I think with Mason we have a reason to get carried away. I don't think he's anything like the overhyped prospects or one season wonders we've had. The likes of Januzaj started on fire but got progressively worse and that's a common theme. With Mason, he had a pretty tame start with his appearances last season and in games in the first couple of months of this season. He's gotten progressively better as the season has gone on and I expect that to continue for a while.Let's calm down a bit. We have had too many one-season wonders in the past.

Yes, playing time won't be an issue but Mason will not be an automatic starter just yet4 players for 3 positions and 4 if you include Bruno's. Every player with get lot of starts.

Yup we need squad depth. I think we need Sancho and a back up striker actually so 5 players to cover for 3 positions, 6 if you add James into the mix. I think its normal. Instead our players look knackered, there are no options on the bench and it tellsI do not get this.. If we had a player like Sancho yesterday, we would not need to start Bruno or Rashford, have them on the bench and bring them on later.

Should keep it thematic with Rashford's nickname of Beans and call him Mason Beanwood.Kid Dynamite.
