Just fecking look at this.

All 16 goals he's scored for Manchester United. All but maybe 2 of them have been placed right in the corner and hit too hard for any goalie to reasonably save.

His xG might be low, but his perfect technique is what makes him so deadly.

His xG is low because he wasn’t expected to score from those goal scoring positions. Not many players are. Look at those positions. 4 are outside the box. Some are near post finishes with lots of bodies in front of him. One is of the near post, squeezed right past the keeper and off the other post. I think only 3 or 4 where he had clear goal scoring opportunities. One was a tap in from a cross, one pen, and one on 6 yard box where he slotted it past the keeper and a defender on the line and even that was not an easy chance for some.

What it tells you is that he’s putting away extremely difficult chances which further backs up @ivaldo claim that he is in fact the best finisher in the league.

If you look through his youth team goals, his goals are pretty much the same as they are for the first team so he’s not suddenly going to fall off the cliff. He’s only getting started. Wait until he fully fills out and gets used to the pace and the physicality of the league. It’s easy to forget but he only had 10 first team starts (I’m not sure if that’s completely accurate but it can’t be much more than that) in his professional career. Anyway, point is he’s still young’un.

This kid. God damn. No wonder De Gea looks short of confidence- he's gotta try and save these rockets in training.

It’s actually a bit surreal that we’ve got such a talent at our club. You see likes of Mbappe, Haaland and they just make you envious but now we’ve genuinely got someone comparable.
Too right. I have to get up for work at 7.30, but I'm sat here at 3.30 feeling too giddy to go to sleep.

Maybe those xG makers should rethink how to calculate Greenwood xGs. Maybe hard bottom corner goals from distance should be calculated as easy shots for Greenwood to make xG reflect right. After all xG came out before they knew Mason

The xG in the league is only low because of his minutes played. Basically his chances are those of a player who would score once every 3 games,, playing as a right winger in his first season as a 17/18 year old, decent amount of time from the bench. Those are great numbers when you take a look at the context, but more so impressive is what he's actually managing to do with the minutes he gets. More and more involved every game, creating more for himself and others with every passing game. Think it's been a huge jump up since the lock down as well. Looks more aggressive, stronger, just more physically developed in general.

Never seen a player be able to hit a ball like that. His technique is mad, he doesn't have the same technique as the usual rocket shots, he sort of just hammers it off the end of his foot rather than use the laces. Also can get crazy power with no backlift. His all round game has been much improved since the break too, the added weight has done him the world of good. I expect to see more of his dribbling and passing ability next season, although why pass or dribble when you can hammer shots like that.

Me too. Really pumped about United again. Get CL and we’re golden!

As a striker, his decision making is incredible too. He's not just a poacher but also can involve on the build up phase. He just seems natural to be part of the team already.

It's just insane when you think that this is his first pro season.

I think Greenwood had steps up in his overall game too after lock up, which is really very encouraging to see.

That's my take on him. I know I might be overrating him but this kid has something truly special. His eye for a goal is almost CR7 like
He’s better than cr7 at 18. Not saying he will be as good as cr7 is a phenomenal and relentless athlete but could.

Big question now is, how does our future attack look? Does he go right or central? Can he do enough In The remaining games to guarantee a start spot over martial/rashford when sancho/Grealish comes?

His link up play on the counter is really good. It’s usually one touch lay off and he’s on his bike. His got vision and decent passing range for a striker. Definitely not just a finisher.

He is far better than Grealish so I don't see it as a problem. Who knows who gets benched most of the time if Sancho comes. Probably Greenwood during the first season which would suck.

The question is, do we really need Sancho though? We are already forming a great partnership in attack with Rashford, Martial and Greenwood up front, we only need some good backup, but surely not another top young talented forward who should be guarantee starter?

Sure for better squad depth and necessary to compete at all fronts, it’s always better to have more options. But imagine we are in CL final and one of them have to sit on bench, I don’t think either of them will be too happy in long run. I mean, it could develop to another Sane situation at City, or Lukaku situation at United (although we want him out too), or another Robben/Higuain situation at Real.

He'll soon start a fight between every opposition's defenders and their goalkeepers.

Goalkeepers seem particularly pissed at their defenders when Greenwood shoots and scores, as if the defenders could have done something about it!! What a joke!

If he ends the season in his current form, Ole would find it hard to start him on the bench next season, especially since we're starting the next campaign not to long after ending the current one. And if Mason start the season as a starter he could easily make himself hard to drop.

But then again everyone seems to be looking in good form, so it'll be hard to drop anyone. It's be interesting how things play out if we get Sancho.

He’s playing as an inside forward at the minute at times. He’s just in behind martial and slightly to the right. He definitely doesn’t give you width. Only when we’re around half way line for either team he stays wider. When he’s in final third you often find him tucked in. Real rudimentary tactical analysis but he definitely isn’t playing as conventional winger.

Well today, Reina had all the right to be pissed off at his defense. They gave him too much space to shot(same with Pogba's goal). Defense should have at least forced him to take his shot quicker rather than set himself up nicely than canon the ball into the back of the net.

I think he's made a huge difference against teams that sit back, based on my shite football observation that relies mostly on PES tactics.

If you give him time, he will find a good angle to shoot and smack the ball so hard you would think its a motorcycle. And its a goal.

One way to prevent this is to press him with one or two players to block his shot. But then that will free the other attackers, Bruno is most dangerous at this position because he doesnt have to think what to do next, when he receives a pass, instant. Bang bang Bruno shoots and its a goal or bang bang its a pass to someone else and its a goal or bang bang PENALTY!!!

Says video unavailable. Makes sense as that is probably porn.

Come on man. Look at Chelsea and City and the options they have. Chelsea have Werner, Abraham, Giroud, Willian, Perisic, Ziyech, Hudson Odoi for 3 positions. City have Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Sane (until last week). I’m sure they will replace Sane.

We will get found out. Teams will study us this summer and will figure out our weaknesses. You take out one of our front three and it’s down to James, Mata and Peirera on the wings. It was torture earlier this year. Just pay the god damn money and get him. Our attack is weak if one of the front four isn’t starting. We need good, able backups not a backup for namesake.

Nah! Greenwood still scores in that situation that. Most of his goals (many of them even between the legs of defenders) throughout this season were made without needing much space to set himself up nicely. And that is what makes him so special.

The Bournemouth keeper and now Villa keeper, they are only making themselves look silly when they shout and blame their defenders for it though.

Doesn’t need to be. Old adage — if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. He’s got a good understanding with Martial at the minute and he’s scoring and assisting goals. So I don’t see a reason why we would need to change that for the foreseeable future.
If we sign Sancho he can play on the left as he’s just as good there, if not better than the right. Hard to predict where he will end up at this point because so many things can change in football. Coaches, personnel, injuries.. just too many variables. What I can say with high degree of confidence is that he'll absolutely carry on in the same vein and exceed his recent performances in the future, wherever he plays — he’s that good.
If sancho goes to the left what happens to Rashford ?
If sancho comes one of rashford (unlikely) martial or greenwood are heading for the bench.

At the minute it looks like rashford will be the one making the way. Greenwood and martial are are bang in form and if we’re to go by that it’s got to be Rashford. But it’s not like he’s going to be sitting on the bench every game. There would be rotation between the 4 of them.

The worst thing Ole can do to him now is overplaying him. Sancho is a must.

You should not rely on a very young player like Greenwood unless if you play in French League. They are bound to have up and downs and will need some help.

I thought rashford has been the best out the front line this season ?

Meh. Theres some youth you gradually bring in. Then theres the youth that have maturity to their game already and have no problem being first teamers e g mbappe sancho haaland etc
He seems the latter.

You should factor other counties in this process. It's not always about complacency or under achieving, it's about some countries simply having better players.

It's like what Neville said, people called the England team with Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham, etc the golden generation then what would people call the Brazil team with Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Carlos, Cafu, etc, the platinum generation?

While England are coming up with some talents, you look at countries like France and you realize that some countries are on another level.
England screwed that team over by deeming Scholes a LWer. Players were played off name, not how they tactically fit in.

The way he’s finishing:

1. xG logic is going to get redefined
2. They’re going to redesign balls
3. Going to get a shoe contract just like Air Jordon
4. Ball ends up outside after tearing the net and the goal doesn’t get credited followed by Redcafe meltdown

Haha haha. Whattay player! I feel we are still seeing a player holding on to some natural instincts. He was doing more tricks and flicks in reserves which he is not trying to do (and understandable). Let’s not forget he scored a few free kicks as well.

Seems to up his game lately. I used to think that he was not exactly ready before the break but since his finishing was so good, it looked like we had to keep playing him

He is a lot more mature physically and involved with general team play now.

Playing without fans might have given him more confidence and less pressure to develop on his own fir now.

Brilliant finisher as we all know and what the hype will be all about, but his all round play is what I love to see from him. So refined for an 18 year old. So many quick turns, first time passes, excellent touches when under pressure and you don't see him lose the ball too many times. Excellent decision making and has the ability to pull off seemingly anything.

Can see him being a real star next season. He's just a brilliant player already.
Aside from yet another brilliant goal, there was one pass he played on the counter where he played a long ball over to the opposite flank to Bruno that was such a beauty.
Saka has bags of ability to be fair. Ability to score goals consistently is priceless though.

There most definitely is much more to his game than finishing. He is a natural footballer. You can see the progression in his game. In his first games he kept it extremely simple. Then he was scoring mostly with his left foot. Now he has started scoring with his right.

Next you will see his passing, creativity and assists. He will be awesome on the counter too.

Watch this video to get a better idea about his general play

He is incredible.

His all round play has also been great since the restart. He's far more involved in the buildup and highlighting his obvious technical qualities. Also, what can go unnoticed is his intelligence, decision making and ability to retain possession. He's very rarely loose or casual in his link up play.

Now kid, if you are reading this, keep your head down, don't get carried away, choose right mentors, listen to manager, play every match as if you have a point to prove, and you will be alright.

100% Yes!!! Do you remember what happened when Martial was injured for a few months? Rashford, we were saved by lockdown and the brilliant form of the team.
Sancho looks the real deal, someone who can bring another attacking option, a player with great ball control and ability, his link-up play is great too. Plus he's young and a lot more experienced than Greenwood.

We need to protect Mason, or he will be another Owen, injured all the time at 25.

Nowadays you need a top squad. James isn't good enough to start each week if we receive an injury. Sign up Sancho and close the gap on Pool.

This!

I can't explain how he is able to generate so much power with no separation from defenders at all. This is why I believe he is the real deal, his quick trigger is faster than Scholes. He does not have any huge back swing and because of this, defenders have no idea when he is going to shoot. He has superb balance when he strikes the ball as well. I am glad he has Ole guiding him. Can you imagine Jose bringing him up ? Jesus thank you.

Greenwood doing incredibly well doesn't mean we still shouldn't reinforce the team. One injury and the quality seriously drops in attack

His technique is spot on. He's a natural at that

The great thing about MG is he has it all, decent pace, neat technique and dribbling skills, teamwork and deadly finishing. He also seems to be a very laid back boy. We have a diamond here, guys.

He remind me very well of our keeper whenever we face a two footed striker. Lad usually just stand stone there watching the ball going in. Then screaming at us like mad. Common man we all did our best, you couldn't even jump.
