I don't mind him as a sub, and I have always believed he was a good player. Still, don't think it is too big a loss if we lose him though.

It makes sense for him, he is good enough as a starter for teams in Turkey. He is a starter for the Belgian NT, so maybe he wants more playing time because of that.

Get Periera back, and give him a chance. As for aerial threat, we will have Zlatan back soon so that problem is solved. We can also look for other options in the market in the summer if needed.

If the player has firmly decided that he wants to leave, then better to proactively plan for his departure, rather than just dragging it along hoping he changes his mind suddenly. Don't want to see a similar situation to Arsenal happening to us.

I find it quite odd though. He's playing currently in a big club in one of the best leagues in the world, under a manager who 100% trusts him and gives him an important role in the team, so strange he wants to leave a Turkish team for the sake of playing regularly. If I were him, I would renew my contract every time.

Imagine this oaf refusing us.

Replace him with Savic from Lazio and we're having a laugh.

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned his EL final performance......AGAIN!!

Has to be great news if he's off. Thankfully we can start building a squad with real depth and quality, especially with our sicknotes on the way back.

Oh man, I’m absolutely distraught about this...

Said no United fan ever.

He’s been a good player for us recently but he’s not indispensable. Very few members of this team are.

Good luck to him if he leaves. We will find a better replacement, while he will get a more lengthy contract at his new club. Win/win case.

Why wouldn’t Fellaini renew his contract? Mourinho has said numerous times how important he is to his first team plans. Sounds a perfect scenario staying at United under his leadership.

Makes me wonder if Jose has refused to commit his future beyond the end of the season in private.

Good move for all involved. We want a better player, he wants more minutes, let's hope he leaves a Premier league winner.

Felli may not be the best, but he is by no means the worst. Herrera has been a disaster for a while, if we're talking about centre midfielders only.

He is a squad player, his wage probably won't be increased as much as he would get at a top team in another league like in Turkey. He would be a starter and a key player in their team on top of that. This could be his last big contract now, so it makes sense if you take all those factors on account.

Just a gut feeling at this point. I don't see him being here for a very long time. Maybe another season but not beyond that.
I was referring to the comment you made about us being a mess.

Being a key player in a Turkish team that no one is even going to watch except its fans isn't the biggest achievement tbh.

Fellaini leaving at the end of the season for free isn't the worst of options to be honest. Recouping a couple million on him would be nice, but it wouldn't affect the incoming transfers all that much, so not doing so isn't that big of a problem.

I have absolute faith in Fellaini's work ethic though, and he might set a good example to other and future United players by giving his usual 100% until his very last game, despite leaving. That sort of thing isn't overlooked by team mates.

That's great news, really. He has his uses but clearly Jose doesn't see him as a key player (I don't believe that he would've refused a lucrative offer with guarantees of playing time), and it's time that we get someone who can consistently control the ball and pass it forward.

I like Fellaini but in no way is he worth a long contract with ridiculous sums of money. We should be going for younger, hungrier, more technically gifted players.

We should just let him leave for free at the end of the season and wish him well. If Mourinho doesn't like it, too bad. The club cannot afford to just throw money away.

United could use a smart DOF, someone with vision and great negotiating skills. Tired of players bending us over.

As long as he gets the money he wants and playing regularly, don't think he will care all that much. As I said, this could be his last big payday, which could be the reason for him looking at better options.

Yeah that can be the point, that he wants a higher salary than what he's getting here.

not sure why herrera is better footballer , he ain't better than fellaini on the ball, only have 1 pass which is hit the ball as hard as he could for valencia to chase , weaker physically , not fast either and his attacking contribution non existence

did he could dribble pass player or did lot of key pass to justified "better footballer" ?
we watch fellaini showed more roulette , juggle, chest control, and difficult flick on with both head and foot, showing more technique than herrera ever so i don't understand why hererra is better footballer , based on what ?

more passion and moan than skills. there is reason why spain didn't bother to call him up despite being our POTY last season
poor-man kante
What the hell is happening in this thread?

a struggling West Ham under David Moyes will be in for him in January

reckon we will get 12 million for him

We are not selling him in January and he is not joining bloody West Ham.

What kind of wages can Turkish clubs offer?

Apparently he earns 120k per week, can he really earn much more in Turkey or in Russia? I wouldn't leave United and move to Turkey just to earn another 20k per week.

What's happening to us. The likes of Lingard and Fellaini are rejecting contract offers from United and have power in negotiations to bump their pay.

I'd like to see us fight hard, tooth and nail for all those talented young players in our squad running out of contracts. It seem like they'd be easily let go as soon as their contracts run out yet here we are fighting to keep your Fellaini and Lingard's of this world.

Madness. This is reflecting of the person currently in charge.

Isn't it just Pereira? Mourinho wanted him to stay.

Did you hear the one about Lingard on 100 grand a week or the one about Fellaini having a contract standoff with Manchester Utd....what has this club become!!!!!!

Parallel universe kind of stuff going on at the club.

I think you're incorrect with the bolded part, Jose loves Fellaini, he runs through brick walls for the manager and if reports are true, Jose is the one pushing for us to sign him up to a new deal.

I was referring to the comment you made about us being a mess.

Well, I feel we are in a bit of a mess. we have a lot of players running down contracts, not sure who is staying or going, we have players like Herrera & Mkhitaryan performing badly.

Lukaku's goals have dried up but that may have more to do with our system, style of play and poor recruitment (especially in RB, LB, CM & RW). Now, some of these things may well be ironed out once Pogba, Rojo and some of our injured players return. Plus, the uncertainty surrounding Mourinho's future.

I'd be delighted if Mourinho would get rid of Fellaini.

But if Fellaini leaves despite Mourinho wanting to keep him desperately, I'm very pessimistic regarding what we can achieve under Jose.

Glad club isn’t rewarding mediocrity, he is one of a number of players who aren’t good enough and aren’t going to improve.

Can’t offload them all but need to start doing it gradually, last thing we need is to have these players tied down on expensive long term contracts.
