@jason93 please feck off with your wumming. Star power? Box-to-box? United fans fault at his failure? You'd have to be clueless to genuinely believe these things about the bean pole.

Just noticed his afro has gone. That was the last good thing about him. Looks like a gangster from Eastern Europe now. Never understood the afro hate, suited him much better.

I'm happy enough if we can quietly move him along, a loan deal for the season would prob suit both parties.

We don't exactly need the cash this Summer so prob best to try get his £100k+ a week wages off our books. He might even gain some confidence playing over there.
Don't see how it suits us.

As little as we could sell him for, he would naturally go for me now then this time next season.

And we broke our transfer record on January, have spent 60 or so million this summer and look keen to break our record again before the window shuts, I'm guessing we could do with some cash.

It hasn't gone.

I've got bad news for everyone. Not a single club will come in for Fellaini and we're going to be stuck with him for at least two seasons. It's not that we couldn't find a Turkish club to send him out on a free transfer, but his wages are a serious problem.

He seems to have developed a close friendship with Adnan. They post a lot of photos together on social media. I hope he stays, despite what the vast majority of you think. Cleverley didn't impress me against Roma at all. Carrick is injured for the first three months. I think Fellaini would compliment Herrera quite well if he played in a more defensive position. Hopefully he at least gets a chance under LvG anyway.

Nope. I always wanted Fellaini at United, even when he played for Everton. I was glad Moyes signed him and I blame the fans for his lack of success so far. Cause they're being incredibly ignorant. Some of the posts in here are laughable to say the least.

"Playing with Fellaini is like playing with 10 men."

"He's West Brom/Stoke quality."

"I've seen better players in the conference division."

I mean, come on.
It's the fans fault! That's absolutely priceless. Even the guys who trot out excuse after excuse for kagawa wouldn't come up with something this bizarre. At least it gave me a good laugh.

Why? Does the possibility of Carrick and Cleverley in midfield for yet another season excite you that much?

I'd take all the CMs I can get just so I don't have to watch that ghastly average pairing ever again. Atleast Fellaini adds a bit of star power in the middle.
Star power! Stop. Please stop. Too much. Can't stop laughing. You're a gas man in fairness.

He won't even start a game for them. Behrami/Inler as CDMs and Hamsik behind Higuain.

I rather we let him go to a club where he'd play off the striker and score goals.

Behrami is going to Hamburg apparently. Kramer is going the other way though, so the competition is still too much for the hairy.

Really? There was a picture earlier in the thread. That was an old one? Awesome. Don't sell then.

He didn't cut/shave it, he just changed his hairstyle for the moment (or maybe just washed it). He is back to his old self

He's shite as a box to box midfielder with the first touch of a rapist, lacks the intelligence and mobility for a start. If he was as good as you say Van Gaal would have kept him around (or Arsenal would be sniffing back apparently ) but I think your son has been found out at this level and will be moved on to a place where he can effectively be a battering ram number 10 where he was at his best for Everton.

Bollocks. Fellaini was very good for Everton in the box to box role, striking up a good partnership with Darren Gibson of all people, resulting in the team playing better football than at any point he played behind the front man. Refuting that is the mark of a liar or somebody that watches too much of MOTD.

This jason lad is getting a grilling in here but he's clearly seen a hell of a lot more of Fellaini than some of the whoppers in here. And I say this as somebody who doesn't care whether he leaves or not, I just despise the gross revisionism that occurs in threads like this one. Ignoring what Fellaini did box to box for Everton is just silly.

He did play box-to-box, but in his own, very special way - a lot like he played for Belgium on this World Cup. He started at the center of the pitch, won an aerial duel, give the ball to his teammate and run to the box like a madman, waiting for a cross. At some point Moyes thought that it would easier for him just to stay further up top and not to waste his limited energy - and he played the best football in his career.

 Fellaini's first touch is actually very good. He just lacks the nimbleness to shift his feet and release the ball quickly. They're two completely different facets to a footballer's game.

Tbf, he does play box to box. The problem is, he tends to arrive in our box once the opposition have already scored, and in the oppositions box once they've already cleared the danger to the halfway line.

He's a great big clumsy oaf and a dirty bastard.

I reckon if you went round every forum for every PL club, and asked them to guess which player that is describing, about 85% would say Fellaini.

Never has a description been more perfect.

No, he played behind the front man due to a lack of resources in the striker position and his considerable goal threat. Everton, the team, played better football when he was in the midfield, however. He was a lot more dynamic in that role than you're describing. A very good player in the grand scheme of the league, and a worry for almost every manager in the division. It hasn't worked out here but his Everton form shouldn't take a hit in hindsight. I even remember the guy's first season. He was a walking yellow card but grew into his role very well.

He's only 26. Up until last season he'd been improving year on year, regardless of which position he'd been played in. I'd give him another year to see if he can rediscover that upward trend.

Im pretty sure it was osman playing as the cm at the time (thats what it seemed to me anyway). Neville and rodwell played quite a bit too.
Gibson was playing as a dm anyway.

I've probably seen him play in a position other than am about a dozen times before he moved to us,
mostly as a dm, he was as hopeless in them games as he was for us last season imo.

I just think he's an AM, i've never seen anything to suggest he's capable of playing deeper.
I dont like ripping the piss out of our players or seeing others do it but ...
I just dont think we'd be doing him any favours holding on to him basically.

Seems a nice guy and he is a genuinely good AM.
We just have better.

I think Woodward would be prepared to make a loss on Fellaini just to make a big statement about that era being over.

It's not really about the first touch. His biggest weakness is his awareness, particularly if he's asked to play as a CM. It just brings the whole team's performance down.

Loaning players is becoming pretty popular in Italy. It allows them to augment their squad and assess the players closely before placing a bid. It also have some advantages for the 'selling' club as the player will be showcased and his salary is paid by the club whose playing him.

Honestly I don't think its a good idea to send Fellaini to Italy. Cash runs low there and Fellaini will be skinned alive by the Italian refs who have zero tolerance towards unskilled thugs like him. We should try and sell him either to another EPL side or maybe the Bundersliga.

For years the Italian game was the epitome of physicality. Far more cynical than English football.

Its always been more cynical then the EPL to be honest. I remember Kohler constant tough and well timed tackles on Van Basten's 'weak' leg ended up costing the player his career.

However the Serie A will find it very difficult to accept the 'in your face' fouls Fellaini tend to do.

This is something that's been bothering me for a while...

Why doesn't United loan in any players ? PSG might loan in Di Maria, Madrid maybe Falcao, Liverpool close to Manquillo etc..

We dabbled in it once and it worked kind of ok - Tevez...

Oliver Torres would've been a great option for one given the relative weakness in our midfield with a buyout clause option in 2015 or 2016...
