@SolidState is more reputable than Caught offside.
He'd be better off at a club that would play him up top like he did for his best season at Everton.
Jeez, Fellaini fans will tell as in a few months how Wenger wanted to buy him AGAIN, yes based on caughtoffside!
Wenger has made some bad mistakes, but an idiot he is not!
Did you know? Fellaini has failed to score a goal, provide an assist or play a single through ball in 26 appearances for United this season.
If the reason other players were so poor was Moyes then shouldn't that also apply to Fellaini?
He deserves another chance next season, he does well enough for Belgium and I'm sure he'll be a decent squad player. No chance he ain't here for the forseable
Lol Wenger.
Fellaini has more or less become the bastard child of the squad. He's our nasty reminder of Moyes's time at the club. A Jon Snow to our Cat Stark if you will.
Stat from Robbie Savage's Awards on BBC, and he also labels him the Biggest Flop of the season. I believe our other central midfielders have been almost as ineffective. But it's disappointing to know we spent a fair bit of money and haven't improved that position at all. Our new manager has to be a lot smarter this summer.
Could never see Wenger going for Fellaini. He's the antithesis of a Wenger type player.
His release clause could have been triggered at any time by arsenal if their interest was serious.
I think the interest was all Fellaini's.
Are you speaking on the premises that since Everton is now above us, therefore a better team, and hence once he achieves Everton levels, he's good for United to keep as well? Really?Yea-he's been crap all season, but he's not a crap player. (Not saying he's a world beater either). But we all know he's capable of playing at a decent level.
I think under a new manager, we can get him playing back to his Everton levels and he could prove to be a useful squad member.

Do you mean we can send him forward when we need a goal and hoof it up to him?
What I mean is that he's not a totally useless player and he can prove to be a useful member of the squad.
If you look at some of our squad members down the years, they weren't world beaters, but they proved to be very useful in the course of a season. I think Fellaini can prove to be in that same category (although a lot more expensive).
He's no improvement on our midfield so what else can he do? Those squad members could always do a job for us. Fellaini might do ok against poor sides but that's about it. Just doesn't fit in with our style of play and a constant reminder of our worst season for 20+ years.
How do you know he won't fit into our style of play? The only style of play we have seen him in is in Moyes', and pretty much no-one properly fitted in there. He is a quick passer of the ball, and is one of the only positive passing CMs we have to be honest, so it would be interesting to see how he does in a team with a more positive thinking philosophy and quick-passing football.
Quick positive passer? What games have you been watching then? He's technically poor, slow, cumbersome and fails to dominate a game. Never a top midfielder and was always the wrong signing.
And you would also think that he knew something about Moyes' style of play and his role in the team after working with him for a few seasons at Everton.
I've been watching the games where he has been a positive passer for us, funnily enough.
His role in Moyes' team at Everton was completely different to his role here, you must surely know this. If he had stuck him to one role rather than changing it constantly from holding to box-to-box, then we could have seen more consistency. He started badly, got into good form after his injury then went to shit again, I'll admit that. But in a positive team I am sure he could do a good job, even if it means only featuring against the weaker teams then fair enough.
I don't agree we should keep him and hopefully the new manager thinks so too! Fingers crossedWhat I mean is that he's not a totally useless player and he can prove to be a useful member of the squad.

I don't believe Wenger would ever buy him.
They didn't bid at all though. Even after it expired. Don't forget we didn't get him until the 11th hour (literally). They did bid for Cabaye even if it was a penny pinching bid. I refuse to believe Wenger would ever buy Fellaini. We were serious and we didn't activate his release. Actually, we ended up paying more.
Maybe Arsenal were monitoring his price to see if they could get him for cheaper than his release clause.
Sweet Lord, is this a joke? A quick passer of the ball? No. Not in the slightest. Useless lump needs at least 3 touches to get it under control. He's far too expensive to be a squad player. We need to recoup whatever we can, now, no matter how great the loss .How do you know he won't fit into our style of play?
