"Of course I would have liked if Mario had felt more support in one or two situations," Struth told Bild am Sonntag.

"I am fully convinced that when Mario feels this support, it is easier for him to show his incredible potential. Then he is one of the best players in the world."

"Of course he was disappointed and that did bother him," Struth added. "As a player, you are always wondering 'why did I not start?'

"That is why Mario moved to Bayern – to be playing in these big matches and to win titles. But then you get under a certain amount of pressure and it is hard to shake this off.

"I can only repeat what I said – I would have liked a bit more support now and again and this is what I have grown to expect from Bayern."

Marios agent saying he isnt too happy with his treatment, i think its just his agent trying to spark him getting more starts next season, but perhaps Bayern not appreciating him may leave the door open.. I know that a front 4 of (below) looks scary.

Depay Götze Di Maria
Rooney

If he can't deal with the pressure of Bayern how is he going to deal with us considering we are strive to be back at the top.

I'm pretty sure if a decent'ish bid came in, Bayern will consider. He's not exactly lived up to the hype/potential since his move. He's a tough one to analyze for me, personally.

I've not watched him enough to form an opinion, & the little I've watched of him, he's never really impressed me. Not as much as someone like Reus has, for instance.

But then I'm told how amazing he is and how much better than Neymar he is. This was the Caf around +- 2 years ago. (Not having a go at anyone - he could well have been up there at that point. He's stalled a bit since). But yeah, would be all for this transfer.

But with Ribery and Robben nearing the end, maybe he'll get his time to shine? @Balu can maybe shed some light from a Bayern perspective.

He's played a LOT. Where are the complains coming from?

He was never better than Neymar or Bale, whoever the Caf was comparing him with at the time. What he had was great football intelligence which we love on here as we are so use to guile power in England. If he gets his head down he could be a problem though, he probably needs to lock down a possession. If he came here I could see him in the Mata role.

There aren't even transfer rumours at all? It's just an agent making a (actually almost reasonable) comment, but one that doesn't include transfer talk in any way.

I'm not sure about that. Maybe, but I'd say it's more likely that we still have hope he'll become the German superstar we expected him to become. Also there were signs in the last season that he's not a lost cause at all. He just turned 23 and despite his struggles he still had his positive moments over the last 2 years, it's way too early to give up on him. If he wasn't German, there'd be a very good chance to get him. At the moment, I doubt we would sell and I also doubt he wants to leave.

Not starting in the big games.

Yes but he got enough chances to shine and pick himself for these big games. At a club like Bayern with their collection of attackers, it was never going to be easy.

My favorite German poster, as efficient as always ;)

Yeah, I kinda agree with you about the selling part. Extremely difficult to prize a German away from Bayern, especially one they not willing to sell. How's his relationship with Pep though? Always thought Pep doesn't quite rate him as highly as say, Thiago. Even last season with R&R out, he struggled to play - especially in the biggest match in the UCL iirc.

Yeah I personally always felt he was a tad overrated but never watched him enough to really debate that opinion. I think he'd do really well in a set up like Arsenals.

Yeah, but iirc, even when R&R were injured, he didn't start those matches against Barca, for instance.

There could well be other reasons of course (injury etc), but I always get the feeling Pep didn't quite trust him enough yet. Still young of course.

Fair enough. A player moving to Bayern should really expect these things if they're not in top form though.

always rated him; big game player
WC final ;)
Good posts and info guy, thanks..

FWIW Arsenal have been linked to him this summer a few times, no great sources or quotes though, they like the mentally gentle (Ozil) ;)
No worries man. Is love him here tbh. But he's still extremely highly rated in Germany, so I doubt they'd sell, unless we're willing to offer Muller money, maybe.

Young enough to turn it around as well. But one thing's for sure IMO, he has underwhelmed a little since his move.

Absolutely & worst yet, when all is fit - it's almost impossible for any player in the world (barring 3-6 players) to be picked ahead of R&R + Muller.

The front 4s of Germany, Real and Barca are just very very tough to break into.

For me is pure quality, very good with the ball.I wouldn't mind to see him in Madrid.I think that United could be a good option too(I said the same about Turan).I am listening too many names to create a solid midfield but in my opinion is missing more talent in midfield,a good attacking midfielder ,someone to solve the game with a great pass, keep the ball, provoke something different...At present I only see Mata and I think that is very irregular and weak sometimes

He was benched when both Ribery and Robben were injured though, which certainly must hurt. But then, his form in the 2nd half of the season was frustrating and he didn't really deserve to start (even though I believe it would have been better than what Pep did). We'll see what happens next season.

True, that must have hurt. He wasn't doing well though, as you also said. Had he been delivering, he would have started. Rather than his agent mouthing off, gotze should concentrate on fulfilling his potential, not complaining because he wasn't good enough to start.

Götze himself has been really quiet and focused throughout his time at Bayern. And I haven't read anything negative about his attitude or his effort in training, so I don't think you can really blame him that way. It's just not working well in the games so far.

Part of the problem is in my opinion, that he has been moved around way way too much. It already happened in his first season, when Pep experimented too much with his tactics. Then in the first half of last season, Götze constantly played as an left-ish attacking midfielder with Bernat overlapping and Alaba making runs down the left wing as well. He got better and better and played consistently great for 2 months. That's when we played our best football under Pep so far, including the 7-1 in Roma.

But once Lahm and Alaba got injured and Ribery came back, Götze was again constantly moved around, at times played as a CM next to Alonso. And his form started to drop and he never regained it, which really was a shame. We could have used him in that form towards the end of the season when Ribery was again out injured. Still, Götze needs to do better and cement his place in the team or he won't become happy here.

Would prefer Kevin De Bruyne ahead of Gotze, more versatile and seems to have a desire to succeed after he left Chelsea.

I'm not sure he's better than Mata as a #10 tbh.

Depending on fee I'd take him, but he's not a necessity.

Yea they are different, Kevin De Bruyne can play left wing, right wing and as a #10. He is more versatile and creative than Gotze, so he would be my choice.

Yes my comment was that it was strange having one or the other, I think Gotze is more direct and attacking but can fade in games, KDB seems a more overall solid choice, I would agree
