Selling unwanted players for a decent price is difficult but possible. De ligt was sold first to Bayern and then united for decent fees, City sold Alvarez for 75m, Toney went for 50m while Chelsea bought Felix for 53m. None of them had ever hit the heights of Rashford who, quite frankly, is having a meah season with 7 goals and 3 assists in 25 matches
United were always sup par in that area as witnessed during the Beckham, RVN and Ince sale. So this pessimism is understandable. But as said before clubs hire best in class negotiators for this reason. If they can't produce these sort of deals then we might as well have stuck with Arnold, judge and murtough
Regarding salary that's clearly an obstacle. However creative solutions does exist. Would Rashford accept a lower salary which is heavily boosted by performance bonuses? If he believes in his talent then he would especially since a return in form Rashy whose playing in the CL/England on a regular basis will rack loads of sponsors which would dwarf the salary he gets at an underperforming united
