He’s no different to jLingz and Pogba in my eyes. Spare me this love for the club being a local lad. The club is just a medium to promote themselves, making as much money as possible for doing as little as possible. Off the pitch stuff always
matters more than on the pitch. 350k a week paid for this is a reminder where we are and how far we have fallen as a club in the last decade.

This clip is depressing me. How much of a superstar does Marcus think he is to behave like this? The entourage, the whole look, the waiting limo and the “look at me”. You’d have to be a world leader in your sport to justify anything like this and yet this guy can’t make his national team and is not a guaranteed starter on a club side in the bottom half of the division. Ridiculous really, needs to be off loaded asap.

Couldn’t give a shit how ridiculous he looks or who moves around with him. Just play well and do your job

Even when he's out in Manchester he rolls like 20 deep with a stack of hangers-on and bodyguards.

While he was over there he got fitted for a new platinum and diamond Johnny Dang grill...so that'll be nice. Maybe he'll debut it against Ipswich.

I don’t understand, will he be wearing those things on his teeth?

With all those burglaries on footballers in the area over the last decade I think this is a mega mega stupid thing to do.

This, the media are picking on me is nonsense. He’s not done his job at a CONSISTENT level and there is no argument to say otherwise. He would not get in any other top 6 side and Garnacho is currently better than him.

The lad is a joke.

Gangster on the socials, dormouse on the pitch.

Thought the guy was pretty grounded and level headed up until not that long ago. Seems like another victim to have the fame rise to his head.

Sometimes I think pay should be incremental with age for these kids bc throwing tons of if at folks who never had to learn to manage their money or mature psychology hardly ever seems a recipe for success - unless they have good people around them who arent vultures.

On thing that would worry me is the number of hangers on. They can’t be good for mental state or the long term bank balance.

The one kid with a phone who probably doesn't know who he is, and the rest are security. Nobody gives a shit about him being there.

Footballers are famous and popular for playing football well. I wish he'd pull his finger out. He's not a world class talent, and his best is no better than anyone else in the squad, but he could at least work hard and try to enjoy himself a bit more. It'll all be over soon Marcus.

It's mind-boggling just how good he was when he was full of confidence and not second guessing himself (and needed a new contract) to just how bad he has been for the last 18 months. With hindsight it would have been much better to not reward his 3 months of genuinely looking like a world class player with a world class contract, but instead let him run his contract down and go on a free to some moneybags elsewhere. How long is this contract again...

We're now in a vicious cycle where if he continues to be this bad no one will sign him, but if he shows hints of his old form under another new manager we'll probably be reticent to sell, as he's the local lad who 'could' come good again (for a few games).

This cringe level 1000

If he was succeeding on the pitch, none of this shit would matter to people.

When top players come in for criticism, you look for a response. This guy has been called out for best part of two years. In that time he lost his place with the national side too. Where is the response?

I don't understand it. The very least you'd expect is a bit of fight, a bit of determination to prove the doubters wrong and evidence of some fire in your belly. There's been none of that. He got his fame, he got his fortune and now he plays as if he might as well be wearing a cardigan.

If i have to choose between benching him or Garnacho, I'd bench him honestly. He hasnt really matured as a player regardless of his experience (even the position is still a question mark, CF or LWF?). Whereas Garnacho might mature in 2-3 years time.

I genuinely thought he'd end up being top goalscorer of all time. Feels like a lifetime ago that seemed possible.

I'm hopeful we'll see an improvement under new management, but I'm not expecting it.

The thing is he has that pattern of doing very well after a big change (manager usually) but its short lived and we will be left scratching our heads again on why he looks so gloomy. We might see improvements but should always keep other options open. He has a history of not being reliable and when hes in that mode, he wont even bother to run back to defend. Being off form by yourself is one thing but he affected the squad mood too.

The standards of performance and application should be that expected of the highest paid, and one of the most experienced and senior members of the squad. That's who he is. That's how high the bar needs to be set from now on.

Enough with those claims he was "decent" on basis he ran for the first 7 minutes and managed to get a cross in during the second half.

I agree. Hopefully under INEOS that should be the standard going forward. Where you earn your pay and position by merit and should maintain that standard. Having 1-2 purple patches in 3 seasons isnt enough.

He’s obviously got that grill on leaving the Nicks game. Saw that video first and was wondering what the feck was going on with his mouth.

He's proven twice now that after good runs he suffers from prolonged slumps in performance levels. When you've got Amad and Garnacho that are younger and already performing on at least the same level or higher, I know whose baskets my eggs are going in.

I absolutely think that many fans cross the line in how to treat the players when they are not performing at their best. This applies, for example, to Maguire, McT and Rashford.

Really hoping if he doesn't perform that Amorim is the coach that finally drops him to be an impact sub or able to sell him off.

Think it's best for both, Rashford clearly can't handle the pressure or just lacks the desire to even work hard anymore that it would be best for him to be a main man for a an Everton or West Ham type club granted he will actually take more than a 50% pay decrease.

Cant even eat with that thing attached. I dont know whats the point.

I know Rashford isn’t loved on here at the moment but you can’t just rewrite Nani’s history. They bolded bits are just not true at all.

Nani was never our best player. He had a stretch in 10/11 where he was probably performing the best along with Berbatov but by the end of the season was out of our strongest 11. It goes without saying that Rooney was by far our best player this period, excluding his rotten end to 2010. If not him it was Vidic.

In my opinion Rashford’s peak was better than Nani’s. I’ve seen both play at their best and while Nani is probably more easy on the eye, Rashford at his best is more decisive and explosive.

I said late 09 till 2011. And then said his wc period lasted only a year. I should have specified that indeed by the end of the 2010/2011 season, he was not performing at his best any more, so he WC was more about 14 months or so.

Im this period Nani was doing it against the Bayerns, the Arsenals and the Milans. Rashford couldn't do it against the Sevillas and the Copenhagens. For me it isn't even close. Nani could do things with an orange that Rashford cannot even imagine. And his great period lasted more than the few months patch that Rashford has had.

I don’t care much about what he’s up to in his free time - he should be sold for the standard of his performances on the pitch and the amount he’s paid for it. But those glitter / diamond teeth things look absolutely terrible.

More likely that the point is that he’s getting paid for wearing it.
Unless he starts flaunting it in the UK and the seller wants to set up shop I doubt that. Who pays attention to Rashford at a knicks game?

Shouldn't he have stuck around to meet Amorim and knuckle down in training?

Rashford has done nothing this season to suggest he's deserved time off and to be parading around like a plonker. Rashford can do what he wants during his downtime, but after the Belfast fiasco last season (which he still hasn't apologised for), I'd say this is a bad look for him and the club.

For people saying 'I don't care about how his behaviour is off the pitch and how he's dressed', 'I care about what he does on the pitch.'

Do you not think his attitude on and off the pitch are intrinsically linked?

I heard Rooney say before that he liked going to basketball games and things in the US because most people wouldn't recognise him and here's Rashy thinking the paparazzi would be out for him:lol:

So we went to a knicks game, who the feck cares? Casemiro was also at the game but I’m not seeing a ton of articles and discussion about him being there.

Instead of all the valid criticisms levied against Rashford, you chose a completely bullshit point. He has done well quite well against top clubs in Europe and domestically in his career. In Europe, he has scored against likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and properly bullied PSG. His bigger problem has been able to do as well when he didn't have as much space.

I don't think anyone is criticizing him attending an NBA game. We're just observing what's happening around it. If anything, having watched him since he was a teenager I worry for him more than anything, Case I don't really care...

He would have done it only if he was serious about his football but the his actions doesnt show that.
I really dont get it, out of billions only few get a chance to play for a club like UTD and they should give it all until 32-33 years and later they can do what ever they want and can go to Dublin parties everyday.

If Ruben likes to have any success,, we need a set of players commited to te cause and do everythhing for team.

Our team stats over last few years shows how far the commitment from players went down the hill....we cant get back to top with this set of players to be honest. I really wish we become rutless in next few months and get rid of the dross.

Should be sold for wearing whatever it is he is wearing in that clip.

Acts like Beckham off the pitch, plays like Bebe on it.

Makes way more effort on things outside of football than he does on the pitch.

Bad combination for your football career.
