If Ten Hag doesn't drop him soon he will cost him his job. He is atrocious.

Whats so funny, Rashford was clear on goal he cast doubt in what was the correct decision to make. The defender made the angle hard for the pass but once that thought is there the temptation to square the ball takes over.
Funny how that temptation never takes over when he's by the corner flag and there's 4 players in the box though.

Good assist but the majority of the time he’s still passing when he should shoot and shooting when he should pass.

Yeah support if needed but he wasn't needed. He was well clear of any player so he should have trusted Rashford to finish.

I'm not defending the pass it was awful but I just think the bomb on was over the top and almost demanding a pass when he should of just let Rashford take the chance.
You’ve never played football thats clear as day.

I thought he played well today and was passing instead of being greedy which was great to see.

It was the right decision to pass but man you’ve got to lay that properly. It was the wrong pace and the wrong direction. He passes that properly we win the game.

I actually blame Bruno for his bad ball, he cast doubt in Rashfords mind and once you have that as a striker the chance goes.

Bruno should have trusted him instead of bombing on like a maniac. It was Rashford not AWB one on one.

If Rashford came from the left and could take the shot with his right i wouldnt have minded if he took the shot (even if it wasnt the best option). Rashford coming from the right and shooting with his right instead of the pass? I would have minded. The pass was the right idea, the execution of the pass was beyond terrible.

I thought he did alright tonight. He was actually passing and not trying to dribble multiple players. Brilliant assist. He should have had another assist, but he screwed up the pass to Bruno. If he shoots there, everybody complains that he didn't pass. Passing was the right option.

When he left the pitch it was 2-1, shocking decision to square where he should have shot but slaying him after the capitulation once he left the pitch is as stupid.

Are we blaming Garnacho for us losing the lead once he got on the pitch. . .

Great assist for the first goal and a better performance all round. But he really should have buried that chance. The pass was just not on.

I also thought he should have played it earlier if he’s going to square it. Play it early into the space and it gives you a bit more margin for error with the actual weight.

But yeah also clearly summed up his confidence in front of goal currently

I thought it was. I guarantee if he shoots there and the keeper saves it or he misses, everybody calls him shit for not passing. He need to play the ball in front of Bruno. If he does that, it's a goal.

So what's the excuse this time? Cause I'm not buying that "Bruno played the devil's advocate and made him lose his concentration" :wenger:

Broken back again? Fiancee left him? Depressed about his mate Sancho?

Nah, he just needs to ignore Bruno use him as a decoy to put doubt in the defenders and keepers minds and batter that home. A confident striker buries that chance.

Clear lack of confidence but that's what happens when you haven't been playing football like a grown up for so long. Playing like a greedy teenager and constantly making bad choices eventually catches up with you.

He needs to get back to basics bit straight away tonight he was giving the ball away.

What? That's a ridiculous take. You provide your team mate support in that situation so the defence has two threats instead of one to deal with.

As I said before, he was miles clear on goal. I don't think he needed the option in that situation. The option was the reason he chose to pass when a shot was clearly the best option.

That said he gets the pass spot on and I'm not even having the discussion.

Whether it was the correct thing to do or not it was that run that put him in two minds when taking the shot in the area was always going to be the better option.

Trying to square it when clean through is unforgivable. It would’ve given us breathing space when we most needed it.

No it wouldnt. It was 1-1 at the time. Hojland scored just after.

And we know even if Rashford scored, we would have conceded within 5 mins.

He fecked up there. He is in his head - gets shit for not passing, passes and fecks it up. Last year, its a goal.

We went 2:1 anyway and look how that turned out.

The pass was the right decision, as others said. Just really bad execution.
Confidence is low and you can see that he feels the pressure. Would put him on the bench and bring him on as a sub for a few games

Better than last match, but that's not saying much.

His pass to Bruno wasn't the wrong decision, but it was late and it was shit.

Well you can't say he was selfish tonight at least. Confidence looks shot.

The point is the capitulation probably doesn't happen if he makes it 3-1 with the assist...

This is like idiots saying our penalty claim at Spurs wouldn't have changed the game because we eventually lost 2-0, noting that the claim was at 0-0 and would've 100% changed the game for both teams.

By your logic, he makes the goal, we get another and its 3-1 and that's game over, shifting blame on someone else isn't going to work.

Most elite wingers would have passed from Rashford’s position and that was simply a terrible execution

I thought he made the right decision to pass. Messed it up in overestimating the margin for error and the defender got back well, but there's no guarantee he scores particularly with his tendency to put his laces through the ball whenever he shoots. Presumably Bruno is screaming for the ball as well.

Always easy to have a go in hindsight.

It definitely betrays a lack of confidence though. Wouldn't usually expect Marcus to pass there whether it's the right thing to do it not.

Without a shadow of a doubt, if he gets in the same position for that one on one with the keeper last season, he smashes it past the keeper into the back of the net before he even moves his arms to stop it. I’ve not seen such a confidence player in such a high profile position as Rashford. Right now, his confidence is near its bottom rung and ETH somehow needs to get it back up to last seasons confidence. He hasn’t suddenly declined as a player, it’s all confidence and between his ears with this lad in my opinion.

Well most elite wingers aren't on 300-350k a week and the un-droppable poster boy of the club.

I honestly think he should have taken a touch inwards top open up the angle, he just stupidly kept running in the same angle and then messes up the pass.

I know his right footed but still, he should be cutting across the defenders line and going to the middle of the goal in that moment.

I imagine a majority of the top coaches would want him to pass it there. It would significantly increase the chance of scoring. It was a good chance to score, but people overestimate the percentage of those sorts of chances that are actually scored. The fault was the execution.

Decent game and I’m enjoying him and Højlund hooking up. People are surely gonna stop peddling the narrative that he doesn’t look up and try to provide. He finally has someone to work with.

A confident Marcus does much better there.

I still have hopes that he will be dropped as he has started to come off the last 2 games where we are still chasing the game, and I can’t recall the last time it happened.

I cannot believe we did not score from this position. Not on ETH.

He is genuinely one of the thickest footballers I've ever seen.

All that pace and technique and a pea-sized footballing brain

Yeah that first touch decision is Sunday league level
