Was OK tonight, nothing more or less. Got an assist, made another chance or two. But sloppy off the ball.

Awful player and between him and Bruno we will never be able to play any other tactic than counter. They give the ball away far too often when trying to play possession based football. Both should be gone in the summer .

Great pace, can shoot, good at running at opposition. But when the game slows, he is not a good enough footballer to play the right pass like Sane did tonight.

Would have been a great player if he could go back 10 years, but football has moved on. Defensively, he is useless.

While he’s not been at his best so far this season, he’s very plainly been our biggest attacking threat since he was moved back to the left wing. If you remove him, I’m not sure where you expect attacks to come from.

All you people suggesting Garnacho should be starting ahead of him on the left have very short memories - Garnacho was our worst player in the first two league games.

He was trying to find Rasmus more today. Give it time. They will build a great partnership I am sure.

Much much improved tonight, tracking back, creating chances, and the assist is usually where I would want him to shoot but played in Højlund for his goal.

Also the glimmer of Martial link up tonight has gave me hope that I shouldn't have knowing Martial but it created Case's first goal.

If this was a win he'd get 7-8/10 but because we've lost he'll get a high 6.

He got an assist and was involved in the second goal. Sane scored, but was otherwise uninvolved in their goals, so a strange take. Both created three chances, but Rashford made more passes at a better success rate too.

Mate. Football is more that goals and assists.

Sane was on it all night, pushing Reguilon back and linking up play.

He and Mussiala were the best players on the pitch.

Waiting for his PR team to quickly come out with some tidbits about how hes been playing with an Injury

Sane looked twice the player that Rashford is.

Best player probably until Casemiro pinches the MOTM award with a late brace.

People moaned how he was selfish at the weekend. Tonight no shots, but three chances created and an assist. Also involved in the second goal. So little threat without his involvement.
He defo had a shot in the first half when he cut into his right and shot.

Changing the conversation quickly, but anyway. Sorry, are we really pretending that Rashford wasn’t doing the same thing to their right back, really?

We need to work on him and Hojlund on the training pitch. A lot. They're the key players so you would like to think they can strike something up that isn't apparent yet.

Bayern made a lot more space for Sane to work in than we did. We just gave it to Rashford and expected him to make something. When Sane had the ball on the right he had Musiala Kane and Laimer nearby. When Rashford had the ball he had Hojlund in the box and Reguilon overlapping only.

He was poor today.

He’s meant to be the main man in this team. The difference between him and Sane in terms of impact today was night and day.

Their right back was getting all the space and time in the world in the 1st half, not tracking back enough sadly.
Offensively not bad tonight. Not great, but not terrible.

Compared to Sane the difference is very clear, Sanes game is significantly better.

The issue I have with Rashford is he doesn't want to be a CF, but then he doesn't really like or excel at the defensive/pressing side of being on the LW.

He makes the managers job harder at times.

A lot of these players are frustrating...clearly talented! but all have big individual flaws, which add up to even more frustration haha.

He was neither lazy nor selfish today.

He was a bit wasteful on the ball in the first 20min but other than that he was fine.

Hope he gets on the scoresheet vs Burnley.

He's one of the very, very few players we have that I have the slightest ounce of hope for in terms of potentially being a part of a cohesive, attacking team, so, unfairly, I'm more reluctant to criticise him than others.

If we filled our midfield and the rest of the attack with technical, press resistant players that excel in their general play, I think he would be an asset compared to nearly everyone else we have who'd be a hindrance to that style due to their technical/physical flaws. In a team filled with those players, I think he'd naturally be more inclined to link-up with others and perform interplays like whenever he played with Martial.

We just need to prioritise those flamin' players. Stop with the signings based off name value and individual stats.

Yes but Rashford is lazy. He is a lazy, pathetic, idiot of a footballer when we’re not in possession - or that’s what it looks like anyway. He’s also our best attacking player.

I would drop him. We’d miss him but he has to learn. Garnacho is capable of some truly electric attacking play but he’s not going to be as good as Rashford. However, he needs games and Rashford needs reminding of his responsibility.

Use the squad. Use selection / non-selection as a means of getting through to players who won’t follow the rules.

There are others who should face the same treatment but we don’t have to do it all at once. One or two of them every week. Keep them keen and give the fringe players starts and proper minutes - develop them, help them close the gap to the senior players.

He needs to be dropped. He's too far up his own backside and in fact walks like something is literally stuck up his backside. The fame and attention and being star boy has gone to his head. Thinks he's prime Ronaldo. Waves his arms about like it's everyone else's fault.

Bored of his 2 prime months a season where he looks absolutely brilliant then plays dreadfully for the next year and never loses his place. He's good on the counter but nothing more in his current form. I'd rather us play a front 3 who can link up and build an attack rather than the kick and run in hope tactic from Rashford which 9 times out of 10 ends with nothing. Martial/Gaurnacho left, Hojlund centre, Pellestri/Sancho right. Rashford off the bench for last 30mins against tired legs.

Decent match without being at his best. Nice link up with Højlund, Martial and Reguilon. If we can sort out midfield out to give us some semblance of control, there are signs our attack could cause problems.

Thought his work effort off the ball was better than we've seen recently and had some nice moments here and there but nothing really to write home about either.

Thought he would be the one coming off after looking dead after the 70 minute mark again but don't Eth will ever do it. Did create a half decent chance for Garnacho off the right and linked up with Martial nicely for the 2nd so it sort of justified it.

His attitude is terrible and a better manager would drop him

He's just not very good, neither is Bruno. Look at sane, musiala, that's how top players perform.

I would love to see him come off the bench around 70 mins or so in the next 'big' game, might just make more of an impact this way.
There's still a great player in there.

He’s lost a lot of pace compared to a couple of years ago. That full back was there for the taking and he only really got round him once. When you saw him one on one with Davies it really highlighted the difference and young Rashy was absolutely rapid.

Main disappointment is a few times he’d get the ball and he’d just stop. Kind of evolving into Tony Valencia but on the LW.

In the era of 4-4-2 what would Rashford be because he’s not good enough to be a striker, a winger or a wide midfielder. I wish his role at United was same as England as an impact sub but unfortunately he’s our main goal threat

His workrate was better at first but it didn't last. In fact it stopped about the same time we first conceded.

Why does he kill attacks by standing still with the ball, if he's going to lose possession at least attack them.

A few times the ball went out wide and just stands facing the defender up flat footed.

The difference in the quality of football between Bayern's wingers & Rashford looked staggering, particularly Sane but even Gnabry & Coman when he came on. They just looked sharper, more dynamic & way more tuned in to the team around them. Rashford looks one dimensional in comparison, even with an assist.

One thing that's been baffling me recently is the difference between the Rashford that played for England against Scotland & the Rashford that we're seeing at Utd. Against Scotland Rashford was picking the ball up on the half turn to break lines and playing some nice quick passing triangles with the other forward minded players. We just don't see that at Utd even though he's shown he's clearly capable against a Scotland team full of PL level players. He looked just like the aforementioned Bayern players did tonight.

Is it the way he's being asked to play, or is it something else? Just my observation but it really is frustrating seeing Marcus toil like this at the moment.
