Let down by the management today, was ridiculous to put him on the left wing alongside a wing back.

Chasing shadows today, did absolutely nothing on the ball.

Doesn't help when we play so poorly and don't get up the pitch and sustain any attacks.

I don’t think he knows how to press, instead of closing down the man and pressing the ball he went with runners and if he didn’t do that he was trying to cut of passing angles and just getting played circles around him, very strange performance.

Very poor today, played as striker but he barely stayed in central position. He just stood on the left wing without making runs. Terrible game.

Such a shame he's wasting his prime under Ole. Would love to see how a Ten Hag or Conte would improve him.

I think a particular group of staff at the club are supposed to teach him that. Don't blame him for that.

Not necessarily it’s basic stuff he should have known to be a footballer, it’s like he’s neglected defensive duties so long he’s totally forgotten how to press..

He doesn't seem to have the instinct to play his part when he hasn't got the ball, he just wanders about aimlessly.
He's an impact sub when defences are tired in my opinion.

I'm now having serious doubts about what Rashford's ceiling actually is, it has went from potential world class player for the next 7-8 years, to now I think he is more of a super sub squad player. Greenwood has much more potential.

I would of started Sancho last night personally.

At times he was wandering around the CM positions, it really was bizarre.
I know we play with no tactics, but he should still have the awareness on where to move and position himself.

He hasn’t progressed at all since his debut season, if anything he’s worse. Head down running into walls of defenders. That’s when he manages to actually get involved in tight games.

Worrying trajectory for Marcus.

Rubbish tonight, unfit, CANNOT play with his back to goal is why he will never be a CF for me. Constantly passing backwards when ball came into him, not nous or technic to turn. What game was it ball came into him, with a player behind him in the opposition half, and he smashed all the way back to de gea, I think we may have almost conceding because of it to.

He was poor last night, I was screaming at the tele for Ole to get him and Pogba off at halftime but Ole didn’t hear me, the neighbours however…

Looking at the stats you’d be forgiven for thinking he’s been on fire since he’s return but if ever a player epitomises the idea a player can score and not play well (or indeed can not score and play well) it’s him.

Man Utd 0:2 Man City
Another poor anonymous performance where he contributing nothing; which seems to be a trend for the last year.

Cant defend, can’t cross, can’t head, can barely beat a man. One trick pony that likes to use his pace and cut in.

The reason hes not progressed isn’t because of Ole. It’s because he’s a very limited footballer with not much in his arsenal and defenders now know this.

His only value to the squad recently is that he’s been developed in the youth system and thus helps us maintain our record of having academy players in the match day squad.

Yeah, unlike Sancho, VDB, Martial who were paid a lot and play great.

Feck me some guys in here really have an agenda regarding Rashford. How can you critisise him for that cameo where we had about 20% possesion? What did you expect him to do exectly when the rest of the team did feck all for 90min as well?

This isn’t a one off. He’s been inconsistently poor since the beginning of last season.

Tbh it was a few seasons ago when he got big goals at PSG and City away that he peaked. Since then he hasn’t progressed at all.

Even going back to the Europa League final last season when he had recently came back from injury. And Greenwood was dropped to accommodate him, and that was an awful performance.

Hes not good enough and hasn’t been for a long time.

Don’t get me wrong he’s a great professional, brilliant role model and one of the most likeable players in the game. But he’s just not good enough.

What relevance do they have to Rashford or my post?

You said his only value to the squad is that he is academy graduate, so I am asking you what values those player give to the team at the moment because they are clearly worse players than him, and were paid a fortune?

We are talking about Marcus Rashfords performances in the Marcus Rashford thread.

If your only defence of him is “but what about these other bad players” then that pretty much validates my argument here.

Might not be a one off but you've chose a weird game to bring this up. We had lost the game way before Rashford came on the pitch in the 70 minute after just scrapping fitness to even play the game....

Greenwood started the Europa League Final. Please bring up correct facts.
Rashford has been injured until 3 weeks ago but already has contributed important goals in limited game time this season coming into a disfunctional team. He scored 20+ goals the last two seasons. But somehow he has to fight against the "not good enough" narrative since his debut.

He clearly is good enough, he needs better coaching as most of our players do. Imaging him on the left wing today for City vs Wan Bissaka.

Standard Rashford performance

I’m sure his PR people will write a compelling tweet

Strolls around too much.

Doesn't seem like he wants to be involved unless the ball is near him.

Ok what where your expectations for him coming on then seeing as i assume you watched the game and could see how the game was being played out? Bang in 2 from the 5 touches he had  we genuinely couldn't get the ball past the half way line never mind to are forwards.

Apologies my bad. I just remember that we made fundamental changes to the starting XI to accommodate Rashford after being on a great spell of form.

It was Fred who was sacrificed for Pogba to go CM and Rashford to go LW.

So again apologies for being incorrect but my point stands that we made fundamental changes to accommodate him despite being on good form.

All good mate ;) I get your point and I agree that he has to up his game and workrate. But the he's "not good enough" claim is just not correct imo. Will be interesting to see how he does under a new manager. (which he hopefully will get soon).

Being on good form? We lost 2 games, drawn 1 and had 1 win coming into the final? Wouldn't consider that "good" form.

Just one thing after another. Unfit players, players who are ill, it’s okay Oles at the wheel. Fecking joke. No wonder the players have given up.

Rashford's PR is so dull. They're literally the same briefs to the same journalist over and over again.

He didn't do anything wrong today, and unlike some I think his comeback has been promising... but his PR is so annoying.
