I think it's posted in this thread for a reason and maybe an explanation as to why a certain players mindset and performances maybe explained.

If such an incident has occurred of course.
Yep i know the reason full well it's hunting season apparently.

 at the rumours.
To be honest, I don't think it's a big deal. Yeah, someone slept with trans prostitute...frcking big deal.

Are Leeds and Birmingham city centre rents much different from Manchester?

Norwich isn’t a cheap place either.

Burnley fair enough, but it’s not far from Manchester. I doubt its local sex workers are terribly exotic.

Burnley is a town, the story says that the apartment of the transsexual worker is in a city centre.

 at the rumours.
To be honest, I don't think it's a big deal. Yeah, someone slept with trans prostitute...frcking big deal.
If the reason for whichever player’s poor form is fear of exposure over this, I’d be inclined to feel some sympathy. Idiotic behaviour is forgivable; being a lazy entitled primadonna a lot less so.

Robben played on the left a lot for Chelsea and he was good there to be fair.

Of course he did. Most decent outfield players have a reasonable level of adaptability.

In Rashford’s case a right footed forward being asked to play as a right sided forward is something that’s apparently so unreasonable that it’s understandable he plays like he’s just recovering from general anaesthetic. It’s only really being used now because the ‘maybe he’s injured and/or has something on his mind’ excuse has started getting called out more.

Give it a year and they’ll insist expecting a Scorpio to play well when Jupiter is in Uranus with a south-westerly breeze and a Tory government is expecting too much

When did arjen robben and David Beckham become the same player  imagine Robben on the LW!

So much hate for the player that I'm kind of enjoying it irritating/fustrating some fans more than it should. Mind-boggling stuff.
Don’t really need to imagine. It actually happened on many occasions.

When will we get to the ‘maybe he isn’t very good’ stage? Once it’s confirmed in writing by someone holding a copy of that days newspaper that it wasn’t him that ate Freddie Starr’s hamster or fecked off Lord Lucan?

The report says the club was made aware of the player after concerns were raised about lifestyle and performances on the pitch. Also the player dropped the case of blackmail because he was scares it would lead to abuse from fans

For all we know it could be Jesse and his asking for time off due to personal reasons.

Don't think anyone is "hunting" or making a big deal out if it, well the player concerned seems to be.

Has any player’s performances and general quality on the pitch nosedived to such levels in the past without including injuries or age ? Dele alli comes to mind but anyone else ? And were they able to comeback to their previous levels or became better ? I’m struggling to think of any to be honest. Someone gives me some hope.

I doubt many Burnley players live there. Turf Moor is less than an hour’s drive from central Manchester.

How many Burnley players are household names and England internationals, and at the same time have been heavily criticised in the press for their performances on the pitch? I would say the answer is zero.

This is my opinion...

There have been 3 x England players who are household names, and whose performances on the pitch for their clubs have been criticised by fans and the media of late.
2 of those England players that have been criticised play for Manchester United.
The 3rd England player that has been criticised currently plays for Man City.
The story mentions nothing about the England player being married, engaged, or being a parent (meaning that if they were, then the story would have mentioned it).

At the time of the alleged incidents in April 2021, one of the two Manchester United players I refer to was engaged (and still is), and was already a parent. Safe to say (in my opinion) the Manchester United centre-back is not the person in the alleged blackmail plot.

The other Manchester United player in April 2021 was not engaged, was not married, and was not a parent (the player still isn’t any of those).
Just a month after the alleged blackmail plot, it was announced in the press in May 2021 that the player had split from his long term girlfriend of 8 years, citing ‘Lockdown pressures’.
It was even reported that they had been split up since February 2021, which would mean that at the time of the alleged blackmail plot in April 2021, the Manchester United player had no girlfriend, was not engaged, was not married, and was not a parent.

Now onto the third England player who has been criticised for his performances on the pitch. At the time of the alleged blackmail plot in April 2021 he was living close to Birmingham, and had a girlfriend. He was not engaged at the time, but after signing for Man City in the Summer of 2021, several months later in November 2021 it was reported in the press that he was now engaged to his girlfriend.
Safe to say (in my opinion) the Man City player is not the person in the alleged blackmail plot.

My conclusion
Of the 3 x England players that have been criticised by the fans and the media for their club performances on the pitch, the alleged blackmail plot strongly points to the Manchester United player as being the player involved (in my opinion).

This Manchester United player (whose preferred position on the pitch is on the left), put out a press briefing in May 2021 that he had split from his long term girlfriend. It was also cited that they had been split up since February 2021 (meaning that the player was single at the time of the alleged blackmail plot in April 2021, and therefore could not be accused of cheating should the story have come out at the time if it was him, importantly this would have protected the player's image, as he could not be called a cheater, if it was him).

Exactly 12 months later (May 2022), after the player put out a briefing to the press that he had split from his long term girlfriend (May 2021), a story has now appeared in the press that the England international (not named), and who is not performing on the pitch; was involved in a blackmail plot with a transsexual escort.

Maybe an agreement or an injunction was taken out with the press to ensure 12 months elapsed before anything could be published?

Maybe all of this explains the player’s poor performances on the pitch?

Of course all of this is just my opinion.

So is it Rashford United or Manchester United? If it's Manchester United then he has to play which ever position the manager asks him to play and put in 100% effort.
If Sancho is better than him on the left why the heck should a manager play him on the left anyway?
As for the Martial comparison, Martial is better than him even as CF as Rashford can't hold the ball and cannot head to save his life. Martial should also be able to play on the right. Because if they are playing on the right it means someone else is playing as CF and their job is to put the ball in the right areas using their strong foot which is their right foot.
The excuses people make for him is mind boggling.

Playing english academy players is a double edged sword. The likes of rashford and welbeck are good examples.

I still don't believe that person really had a gf in the first place other than a social media beard.

Speaking of something unrelated.... Did Ralf say other day Jesse Lingard called him and asked not to be considered for Chelsea game or training that day.

And then his brother complains of lack of respect ?

Just Wow....

The blackmail plot is intriguing and all but even if it was a United player involved, it'd still be no excuse for 18 months of sub-championship performances.

Not like the player was married with a family and lost everything. If he was single at the time I dont even see how he could have been blackmailed unless it was just embarrassment.

Depends on their "frame of mind"

Again from the paper report.

The player was paying upto £150 per session to a person who took pictures of said player.

Then blackmailed the player into paying £30k to stay shtum. Now this bit isn't clear but it seems to be they then asked for more.

The player informed police but then backed out. So no charges forthcoming.

The club was informed due to profile of player, England international and household name, but also due to poor performances.

Player backed out because they didn't want to be named due to fear of fan abuse.

If there is one thing that we have seen from Ralf, it is that he tells it how it is.
It's interesting how Lingard used to say things through his own social media accounts, then he said things through Scholes, and now he has moved on to saying things through his brother's social media account

His troubles this season are far more likely to be down to a combination of injuries and the fact that he wasn't really that good to begin with. If he is frustrated and lazy then his attitude is the third factor in his struggles. Sancho could have been used more at RW if Rashford hadn't been a passenger every time he played at LW.

Well I agree with the injuries but people seem to think that's an excuse like I didn't happen or he showed amazing form after coming from the injury. I feel like people don't feel a back injury is on the same level as a knee injury when a back injury can really take things like pace away due to the back and its influence on the posture.

I've studied osteo- medicine and back injuries can stop even the ability to walk never mind just pace.

Anyway, hopefully he shows some ability to next season to work part of the team. Him not doing so in things like movement and work rate would make him useless under Ten Hag and then useless to us. This season has been a write off of for so many players arguably except 2 that I'm able to give him the benefit of the doubt for one more year.

I don't disagree. I think his back injury and the amount of football he has played have been big factors in his decline. I think it's happened at the same time that his relationship with the club has taken a hit due to numerous factors and his attitude doesn't seem to have been what it was when he first broke through. Ultimately, I don't think Rashford and United work well together any more and he needs to find a new home, it would be for the best.

I am a big believer that by selling him and Martial….the money we will recoup, we will be able to sign one striker out of the two needed….Another 70m on 2nd striker…(may not be a priority for next year if Ronaldo stays)

Let’s assume ETH gets 150m before sales (I think he will be backed)….And we sell over and above the two mentioned who just funds a new striker:

Baily, Jones, Perrira, ABW, Telles, Henderson: 80m in total? I think that’s reasonable give ABW is rumoured to be around 25-30m given CP interest…and Henderson I’ll fetch 30-35m for sure

On top of them I really hope we sell Maquire: I am sure a club like New Castle will buy him for 40-50m…. He is a regular CB for England and club like NC needs exposure….

From above two categories 120-130m plus the 150m budget kitty gives 250m approx to buy players for midfield and defence (4-5 players in totsl) as the striker will be offset from sale of Rashford and Martian…

That should be the plan!!

My point was a somewhat off topic observation regarding footballers in general, not specifically Rashford; I have absolutely no idea who these allegations allude to.

I’m certainly not in the “always thought he was crap” camp though. Ok, some people got carried away with the Mbappé comparisons, but whatever the reason, his decline in form is absolutely massive and has gone on for ages.

Gosh! There’s no answer to that…

All I can add is that IF you’re right, it would explain the ridiculously OTT amount of PR that player has been commissioning recently.

We’ve officially reached the bottom of the barrel of excuses. Legendary stuff. Obviously it’s not nice to get blackmailed and it could even be him but even if it is that’s still no reason to look like he totally hates the thing that gave him all his riches and his amazing platform. It’s a simple game and the fans are actually easily pleased. Just run your arse off, score the odd goal and generally say the right things about the club in the press. Beyond that he is and they all are free to score as many transsexual prostitutes as they like then in their ample free private time :wenger:

I'm not buying these "blackmail" rumours. I remember when there was a tale that James Rodriguez was going to sensationally quit men's football and become a woman. Rumour classically ending with the iconic "They're choping his dick off lad!".

Nevertheless, his head is clearly all over the place because his fall from grace is incredible. He hardly looks like a footballer at the moment. It's hard to watch because it's making it easy to resent him given the lack of effort he appears to be putting in during games.

I mean, the player in question would get slagging but it wouldn't be as vicious as it was 20 years ago. There would be a day or two of Twitter memes and a week or two of off-colour chants and that'd be it, especially with the season ending. It would all be forgotten about by August.

Still, blackmail is horrible.

I hope Marcus can have a good pre season (lack of pre season is his other outstanding excuse) so he really will have no where to hide next season.

But, new manager, system, support can do wonders.

And yes, back injuries are not good for anyone.

Hopefully his shoulder is good now.

Interestingly, Marcus put on a lot of muscle over the last 2 years to bulk up and has had a lot of muscle issues ... can't be a coincidence

Yeah, as a United fan, I don't actually care about ransom off field controversy. You're paid big bucks to perform for the team on the pitch. If you can then you should be shown the door. That's really all there is to it.

Probably a cover because hes off trying to get an extension to his super injunction

According to Romano (so take that for what it's worth), Rashford wants guarantees from Ten Hag with regard to being a regular starter. I really think we should cash in ASAP. Zero self-awareness.

You have to earn the right to be a regular starter, I wouldn't be guaranteeing any 5 goal attacker starts.

I dont understand how deluded one must be to request guaranteed playing time when even the crowd who back him so much have realised he doesnt try?

He can't even guarantee effort on the pitch let alone good performances and wants playing time guaranteed.

Such an entitled person.

I think this is more to do with Rashford wanting some guarantee over him starting more on the LW than the RW.

It's not like he hasnt started games this season.

Maybe, but I don't think he's even entitled to that. He's been garbage on both wings this season.
