This is a problem created by Ole. If he is right footed then any player should be able to put in a cross with his right foot. Be it Martial, Rashford or Sancho. They are all playing on the wing. Rashford is not the CF most of the time.

This is what I don’t get. He’s right footed so why do people refer to him playing on the right as being ‘out of position’?

Okay there’s fewer opportunities to cut inside and shoot but so fecking what? Is the understanding that every attacking move has to culminate in him having a crack else he’s not going to put in much effort?

Out of position my arse

Well i perfectly get why imo.

Sancho has the ability to play as a RW and is right footed too. Alot of us wanted him primarily to be our RW anyway.

Rashford is more of a forward whilst Sancho is more creative.

Why play the creative player cutting in from the left and trying to put through balls in to Ronaldo whilst having the more forward like player on the right playing crosses in to Ronaldo.

Rashford on the left playing his more forward like game and Sancho playing his more creative game on the RW would have been a better balance for those 3 to get the best out of each player's individual ability.

Ronaldo is right footed would you play him on the RW even though he started his career there? Messi on the left wing with a left foot?

These are the best players with unstoppable ability and they get played in their best positions.

Why would a weaker player play well in a weaker position?

Rashford is not a RW. Nor is Martial. They have certain habits that make them play better at a certain position and angle.

Playing in defence is out of position. Expecting a player to do a decent job on the opposite side of the pitch to their favourite position shouldn’t be beyond the ability of a decent footballer. Quite apart from the fact this horrendous lack of positional diversity exposes his weaknesses more.

In the course of every game for multitudes of reasons players are asked to play in positions and areas you wouldn’t say is their ideal playing situation. In response to the opposition, tactical chances, injuries, suspensions… you name it.

And yes I would expect any player asked to play in any position to put in a shift. If Sancho was asked to play in the middle of the defence and he was walking around whilst we were getting hammered and someone knocking 40 was sweating more than him then he’d rightly have the fans on his back, me included

Right footed forward looking like someone from the Vanarama League because he’s being asked to play as a right-sided forward really isn’t excusable

Honestly if Joe Hart was ours and an academy lad he’d still be getting games with some people arguing his left hand being as weak as toilet tissue is fine because ‘every player has their preferred side’

It’s okay if he walks around and shirks his defensive duties because he’s being asked to play in positions that maybe aren’t ideally suited to him.

Like when a child refuses to eat his tea because his dad didn’t cut his sandwich into triangles like his mum does.

But he’s definitely a top player on the proviso that he’s not injured, is 12 months free of any previous injury, isn’t distracted by his off field exploits, hasn’t recently had a argument with his girlfriend, isn’t worried about poverty, has nothing else on his mind, the weather’s a balmy 17 degrees and he plays in this exact position.

This lad will end up at Real Madrid this summer won’t he?

Overhyped social media footballer who has let the wrong kind of people derail his career. Boot the management company, boot the social media manager, tell your mum to back off and let you focus on what you get paid for, which is playing football.

If he doesnt use this summer for some serious introspection he will be playing for Everton or Villa by the time he is 27.

Good shout but what's that about this mum? What has she done?

I don't know what happened with him after the 2021 season injuries but we need to get that Rashford back. He would be vital for the attacking threat.

Injuries and operation, going to a NT tournament when he should have rested and, probably being down to the ground demotivated.

His 2 seasons prior are 22 and 21 goals scored. The guy clearly can do it. People saying he is a nothing footballer or putting him in the same category as Lingard are wildly off the mark. He will be very good again after some proper rest and a pre season.

Some players are fine on either side (or up front). Some really only suit playing on one side. It's partly because of their style of play, partly because of how they've been coached throughout their career so they struggle.

Sancho has shown at Dortmund that he was fine on either side, albeit perhaps slightly better on the left. Martial was on the other extreme, where he's been utter shit every time he's played on the right no matter how well he was playing on the left or striker at that time. Rashford was somewhere in the middle, where he has had good or even great games on the right at times, but he obviously struggled there compared to how he's played on the left. So at a time where he's massively struggling even in his main position it is going to make it even harder for him playing on his weaker side.

Of course it still doesn't excuse the laziness.

The concern isn't his ability, but rather if he's bothered to put the work in or can bring his ego back down to earth. The recent stories of him wanting an improved contract extension and being guaranteed game time from ten Hag aren't exactly promising starts. Elanga isn't starting games ahead of him because he's the better player, but rather because he can be trusted to put the work in, unlike Rashford. The fact he's having to be motivated as a young United player who's not achieved anything of note is concerning in itself.

I have no issue with his extra curricular work, and he’s been excellent at it, but I do have issue with the amount of new media nods that are unwilling to criticise him because of it. He’s even got Athletic journos writing books for him at the same time as penning articles about Ronaldo being the problem at United, without mentioning the 18 months of pure crap Rashys served up. That’s a problem. If there is a divide in the dressing room, the smoke that gets blown up the English lads arses is at least somewhat a factor in it.
yeah I find it annoying that Carl Anka writes any articles criticizing United, given his conflict of interest.

I understand you and I'd be fake if I'd say I didn't have the same fears. Rashford is clearly broken this season. If that is because he is a self entitled dick, or a combination of poor condition and influence, I don't know. All I know is that for sure he was injured and lacked proper rest, and his best beans mate was a mega toxic influence; so next season with both those problems fixed, I expect Marcus to be a Man Utd footballer again. I've seen him do it before so I know he has the talent.

I don't buy that. A professional player should regain good fitness levels during the season and he hardly played, so why shouldn't he feel rested? The problem is something different, and that is his attitude. Either to work harder and push himself, or stay in this poor form until he is sold

Maybe. We will see next season.

Whatever his problems are they cant be fitness related. He wasn't rushed back he had nearly 3 months off after surgery and lots of time to get condition. And he's obviously been far from overplayed since coming back.

Guess the questions are has he lost some mobility and confidence or just confidence. And separate to that is why has he lost all desire to work for his team mates.

Everything that's harsh and fair has already been said a 1000 times in this thread but I still have a glimmer of hope he can regain this type of form/play under ETH. I have to believe it even if it is delusional and unlikely because the alternative is just fecking depressing.

A whole 164 pages of proof I was right last season and the shite I took for pointing it out? It was his body language and even the way he reacted to doing something well (the very very odd time something came off for him despite him being just as flat as he is this season ) He was saying fk this. He’s clearly been cynical about football for years. Goals and PR managed to cover that up and divide our fans and football fans in general for far too long. I’m glad the majority (and even his advertising team) have finally caught up. Hopefully even Marcus cops on to it next season too. Just going back to being an enthusiastic kick and run player with a nice finish would be 500% better. Please stop me from having to watch and support this player in his current PR guise.‘it’s sickening. He’s genuinely doing my head in. At least others finally see it now too. 200k a week. Jesus like. He’s awful.

So is it Rashford United or Manchester United? If it's Manchester United then he has to play which ever position the manager asks him to play and put in 100% effort.
If Sancho is better than him on the left why the heck should a manager play him on the left anyway?
As for the Martial comparison, Martial is better than him even as CF as Rashford can't hold the ball and cannot head to save his life. Martial should also be able to play on the right. Because if they are playing on the right it means someone else is playing as CF and their job is to put the ball in the right areas using their strong foot which is their right foot.
The excuses people make for him is mind boggling.

Squad player, used in rotation. Usually brought on in final 15-20 minutes to run like feck and stretch an already tired defence. Without the ‘second coming’ cult nonsense .

I don’t think his ego could take that now. He’d be constantly ‘baffled’

I do think part of his issue this year is that Ronaldo’s turned up and hasn’t been willing to indulge his bullshit as players in the past may have done in deference to his golden boy status

One more season certainly won't hurr, I like him enough to give him that chance even though many other fans may not do so (perhaps rightfully).
He definitely needs to cit back on his pr stuff as it's becoming nauseating.

Would cost the club a few mil in wages, stunt the development of the younger more hungry players and also shed about 40 million off his potential transfer fee

When did arjen robben and David Beckham become the same player  imagine Robben on the LW!

So much hate for the player that I'm kind of enjoying it irritating/fustrating some fans more than it should. Mind-boggling stuff.

Robben played on the left a lot for Chelsea and he was good there to be fair.

Is Marcus or Harry the tran fan?

Asking for a friend.

With the story quoting that the established England international was visiting an apartment in a city centre that is £1,000 per month to rent, I would say that rules out the person being a player from any London club, as the rental prices in the centre of London would be much higher.

Based on that, it would be logical to say that the Premier League player, who allegedly visited the transsexual escort on numerous occasions, is not from Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, or Brentford.

That leaves 14 other Premier League teams where the established England international could be from.

And we can rule out any Yorkshire and Birmingham based clubs, or Norfolk ones.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, I didn't want to do another thread.

Has anyone heard about the "well known" footballer who was being blackmailed by a transgender prostitute he had been visiting.

Player can't be named but apparently a household name and England international.

Has been suffering with bad performances as a result of being blackmailed.

Don't know much detail. Was just reading this on a WhatsApp group where folk saying it could be Rashy.

News to me tbh. Just wondering what others may know.

Clearly the right the place to post Whatsapp talk in a player performance thread.

I think it's posted in this thread for a reason and maybe an explanation as to why a certain players mindset and performances maybe explained.

If such an incident has occurred of course.

Wasn't going to post it at all truth be known.

Was reading this thread and folk trying to determine what had gone wrong with Rashy in way of performances. Just wondered if those more clued up than me might have heard something. Would explain the performances no?

Edit: also just noticed someone best me to it

Also...
Had the England international been married, engaged, or a parent, then the story would have mentioned that.
With the story not mentioning about the player being married, engaged, or being a parent, then logic would say that neither of those apply to the player.
Based on that, it can be narrowed down further as to who the England international may be.

Are Leeds and Birmingham city centre rents much different from Manchester?

Norwich isn’t a cheap place either.

Burnley fair enough, but it’s not far from Manchester. I doubt its local sex workers are terribly exotic.

Would be interesting to get the match rating from the said sexual worker.

At the end of the day, clearly there is something seriously not right with Marcus and despite all his PR about his shoulder before and other comments, he hasn't backed any of it up on the pitch.

So something else non physically is clearly going on.

Hope he can turn it around, he still is young enough to save his career and has the potential.
