Nah he's definitely not playing well at all but that performance today wasn't on him. He didn't even start ffs.

You lot are so wanting to blame the lad for literally everything it's shameful.

Maguire Telles Lindelof and AWB were an absolute mess. Way way worse than a substitute. But that doesn't fit the agenda, right?

Too many Tories on here I think.
 You have perfectly described him. More of a politician than footballer that your political allegiance compels you to back him. Other see him jogging around in a derby and call him out for that. And the players that you mentioned are being hammered in their thread as well. This is Rashford thread and his performance will be scrutinized here.

The reason why he is getting slammed is because he has been horrible for a year and half and last night was just more of the same from him. Last season his PR team went overboard with his "injuries" and gave multiple excuses for him. Then Rashford went to Euro to sit on the bench and had surgery when he returned which made him miss 3 months of football at United. And when his injuries excuse couldn't be used by his PR team, they started dumping it on Ole after he was sacked. Now he is considering his future because he has been overtaken by a teenager from academy. This makes most of the people see that his attitude is shocking.

Poor lad now has to actually earn his place in the first team. The most privilege United player gets a dose of reality and is already contemplating leaving. Rashford has been stinking up the joint for months and was always allowed to start the next game, rarely criticized by the media and was always assumed to have a place in our future despite having a very limited skillset for a starting United striker.

Him and Lingard 100% was. Not bother to track back,, and jogged around on the pitch for the minutes he got in a Manchester derby, and acting like a spoiled primadonna. Moaning becaue he doesnt get picked as well when he has been crap for 2 years. He need to buy a mirror, and can feck of to PSG or Newcastle.

He obviously wasn’t the worst player on the pitch yesterday. That’s nonsense.

However, I do agree that his body language is really poor at the moment. There were matches last season where he came on and looked dynamic (Leipzig and West Ham away spring to mind) but he just looks totally devoid of energy/confidence currently.

I regard this league season as a write off now, so I’d be looking to start him left wing and Sancho right wing for a few games in a row and just try and get them both firing on those positions, probably with Bruno as a false 9.

He literally tried to put all the blame [for his abysmal performances] on Ole when he got sacked. How can you respect him?
Now this, after getting battered by City he is leaking info about how he's worried about his game time. How about you get worried about your lazy behaviour and poor decision-making? Sick of PRashford. The sooner he fecks off, the better. Enough of this shit.

Rangnick was right not to start Rashford yesterday. He can become a quality player but has to fight for his place, simple as. Same as it was for Martial. If he can't take it, sell him. Good PR and all donations off the pitch can't get you into starting 11 forever, eventually you have to start performing, even if you're academy lad.

this is the second time today I’ve read that he blamed Ole, but had never previously heard about this. Is there a credible link/source?

Might be a good time to sell and get some money to reinvest. We're in no position to assess his surgery or mental state but it's possible he has lost his way and possibly his main strengths are starting to fade.

If the new manager takes too long to evaluate he'll probably leave for next to nothing. I have huge doubts Rashford is worth keeping for the next 5 years.

what is surprising is that his level of energy is so low at the moment it is becoming very obvious. He looks as if he is being forced to play football. He's a local kid playing for his boyhood club, the biggest club in the country, and yet he has no eagerness to play. Isn't he supposed to be living a dream now and fighting for every moment?

from experience, he is best as a left winger and it seems sancho is gradually making this position his. If sancho doesn't play on the right, then marcus will have no change to even try to regain his starting 11 status which anyway he seems far off.

It's very third-hand, seemingly based on a single anecdote. There were plenty of occasions when Rashford was defending Ole too.

Whether he can regain top form with us or there's too much water under the bridge, who knows. It'd be galling if he went to Newcastle and rediscovered top form though.

For some reason I expected more effort from Rashford when he came on. But no, it was as if putting in effort from a losing effort would not be cool.

He has been pretty crap this season but the club has also handled him extremely poorly.

He was your main main (along with Bruno) for years, with some truly massive seasons, and he is definitely either a LW or CF and never a RW. He plays through injury last year to try to help the team then goes into surgery in the summer. So what does the club do over the summer? Buy a 73m LW to directly compete for his job and the most famous CF in football who essentially has to play.

Rashford needs to earn his playing time just like anybody else but the club buying Sancho and Ronaldo, especially at a time when he was going to miss months after a major surgery and always was going to struggle for form a bit when coming back into the team, completely screwed him over. Sancho is just a good player to add in general but there is an easily imagined counter-factual world where United buys a real RW and a midfielder last summer instead and you are much better off as a team and Rashford is rotating between LW and CF and banging in goals just like he did the last few seasons.

Has more yellow cards than assists and thinks he should be starting  deluded joker surrounded by toxic influences

You want to know why this is a "give me a massive new contract or I'll leave" story? Because Rangnick is only here for another couple of months so why the feck would you be concerned about a man not playing you every game when he won't be here in the summer anyway? It make's no sense.

And when he plays on the left he constantly tries to cut inside. The whole reason for playing him on the right is that he can't do that and heaven forbid might actually try and take someone on and get a cross or a shot away instead.

You can't just keep being a one trick pony, the PL defenders have worked you out. Just dare to develop your game for a second.

Think you might have the causation backwards. We bought Sancho for the right but Rashford's shocking play made it easy to play Sancho on the left. It was never the plan to have him replace Rashford on the left after all two is better than one. All Rashford had to do was keep his spot in the first team.

He has zero excuses for competition. All of his competition aren't even at the club. Martial, Greenwood, Cavani. We actually made it so so easy for him to reclaim his spot. It's not even like he was even playing much better than any of those guys to have gotten a starting spot in RR's first few games. When RR first came he had Rashford as a central striker in his 4222 but with each shocker of a performance he put in he would have his position reshuffled and would fall further and further down the pecking order to what we have today.

Rashford is now on the bench because of just how rock bottom his "poor form" is. It's not like others who swing from good to bad over 90 minutes. Rashford's poor form is incredibly poor the entire period he is on. He looks like fish out of water now that we no longer rely on kick and run.

This is a good post. He’s been moved around by RR and basically never played in his preferred position. We know he isn’t a right winger but that’s where he usually plays. We need to try a spell where Rashford plays left and Sancho right (where he is meant to be equally adept) and let them try and find form.

He plays best when United play counter attacking football, which is something United have (tried) moved away from this season so his effectiveness hasn't been a lot less this season.

Now I don't care about media stories, but for him he either needs to work on his game and develop into a more complete player or move to a club/manager that will play counter attacking football.

Doesn't seem to matter if it's Rashford Ronaldo or Cavani we get the same result.

The team is broken. Confidence is shot. It's one big mess.

Next season we could be without Cavani Ronaldo and Greenwood so Rashford is going nowhere. I even think Martial will get another chance given how many players we are already losing.

Who was worse than him?
Second half most were bad. He came on fresh and was utterly ineffective. Both with and without the ball

The manager hasn't exactly given him confidence by picking Paul fecking Pogba, a guy who's never played a minute of pro football there before in his life, up front over him and then bringing him on in his worst position... again. Maybe it's not what Rangnick asked for but he was our deepest midfielder half the time. Every time he comes in he basically ends up at RWB.

Carragher's analysis on MNF says it all about Rashford really.

Disgraceful to come on in the derby and walk around. Rashford is finished at this level. His attitude is so rotten.

Pogba was picked there once!

Stuff like this is nauseating. The platform we've given utter mediocrity to think they have a divine right to play wherever they want irrespective of how woeful their contributions have been for a long time now.

Someone needs to sit him down and tell him he's just not very good. Running at multiple players at once, thinking he'll magically come away with the ball at his feet, when he has no close control. Taking low percentage pot shots from 25 yrds out when his ball striking is average at best. Sauntering around the pitch as if he's prime Ronaldo and it's acceptable for other players to do his running for him.

One of the most overrated players I can recall to have played for this club. Indulged by management and fans alike for far too long. Hope he's one of the first out the door in the summer. Infuriatingly shite and entitled footballer.

This is what most people who defend him dont get. His attitude and willingness to play has been shocking. At his age Rooney and Ronaldo were going in upward trajectory and Rashford is going in downward direction. He has the talent but his temperament is of an average player at the moment and that shows on the pitch. You can have all the talent in the world but your attitude will decide whether you will be great player or a mediocre one.

Martial gets slagged off for the same but when people point that Rashford is equally bad at the same stuff, people start making excuses as team is broken, injuries or make it political.

I am still hopeful he might change his work ethic but at 24, it certainly dont look promising.

Yep there is something fundamentally wrong with Rashford. Is he still restricted by his injuries, backs can see chronic problems and there were big concerns that he was being overplayed at one point by Ole. The thing that often stood out was his energy around the pitch. That has now gone, and frankly there is not much left. Football awareness and decision making were never his strong points

THATs your big feking excuse? He 'hasn't been given confidence'. Inspite of starting since Ole was sacked 9/10 games whilst in horrendous form?

The ONLY reason Pogba and Bruno played as a 10 and false 9 was Rashford has been in such I'll from he couldn't be trusted to start. His contribution off the bench proved it further......
