Done deal then.

Not too bad. Only took another deal falling through, a player going on strike, a new set of impostors, a contract dispute involving a third party and a player going in the opposite direction in exchange. Relatively that's a big success.

He was the Argentinian defender who caught my eye at the world cup due to that fancy clearance he made in the group stages, I believe it was. He's very good technically. the sort of player we'd benefit greatly from having in our current system.

Yeah Im actually surprised we pulled it off. I think it had a LOT to do with Rojo WANTING to leave Sporting and come play for us. That I think is the big talking point. If he was Vidal saying nothing, then it wouldnt have happened.

I haven't seen much outside of the World Cup (where he was good), but I'm told he's a talented, inconsistent and sometimes rash defender, who will ultimately win us all over with his fighting spirit and occasional moments of unhinged lunacy. Sounds vaguely like Rafael, which is OK by me. Most importantly, he is a defender, and we can't get enough of those at the moment.

But we managed to avoid paying more than the release clause, or waiting a year to sign him.

I'll take your word for it that he's a good defender. We've needed a LB that could actually defend for the longest time. If he's less of an attacker that's fine with me. Our biggest problem is defending not attacking.

And now the sooner we kick Fellaini out on loan, the sooner we can go ahead and buy a central midfielder.

For the last time he plays CB

But isn't he versatile in the sense that if we switch to a 4-3-3, he is capable of playing at left back?

Agreed, in the same way that others have secondary positions, however I doubt whether he would be first choice over a "fit" Shaw in the 433 example.

Previous poster implied him to be a left back unless I'm mistaken.

That's our Eddy for you.

To be fair Messi was pretty shit. Di Maria had a better tournament for Argentina.

Messi should be nowhere near the team forget player of the tournament in my opinion, but what I was getting at is how can he get the top award and not even make a team of the tournament.

Ah sorry, anyway we are really excited arent we? there are more post analysing the WC best team than there are about signing Roja lol
