You just knew people will come out the woodwork because of that (admittedly bad) tackle, yet this thread moves 1.5-2 pages in his good games

Rojo is the only player in the football league to make two-footed challenges twice in the space of three games, and you wonder why there's lots of discussion in his player thread?

Again, he had a good game aside from the challenge, but that's not really the point.

Brilliant match - but those tackles have to go. He should have had a straight red 2 matches in a row.

The tackle was horrendous, and deserved a red, no doubt. He needs to stop doing that.

Apart from that, was great today. Held his ground against the pace and muscle of Zaha and Benteke very well. Almost scored from a corner, won some key headers. If he can cut out the idiocy, he can make that CB spot his own.

He's too much of a liability. Fek his good form when it's just a matter of time before he'll injure someone quite seriously and leave the team stranded.

That tackle aside, he has a pretty decent game AGAIN!

FFS missed the interview - what did Jose say?

Fecking idiot is Rojo, nevertheless.

Terrible tackle, but otherwise should've had an assist and strong in defence. Wean the aggression a little and we're golden.

He's playing well, but should stop with these reckless tackles. He's done it twice in the last three league games.

He was pretty good apart from that stupid tackle. Lucky to stay on the pitch but he needs to cut it out. I would think next time he won't be so lucky now everyone is aware of him.

Something along the lines of him being a passionate but clean player. Also said he didn't discuss the Rose or Aguero tackles so he won't discuss this one.

My problem, again, is people jumping on him for his errors but the good things/games go unnoticed.

Been decent for a while, but with Jones reinventing himself I think Rojo is the guy that should make space for the inevitable new CB we'll sign come summer time.

Considering we have Baily, Smalling and Blind too, don't think he need another CB.

I don't disagree with you, just saying that it's funny how the Caf has already made up its mind on him. Why can't we ever give credit and criticism? Always the extremes.

Eh? Isn't that exactly what's happening? He was rightly praised because of recent performances and is now getting a bit of stick.

Ramos is probably more freckles than Rojo. I think they are on the same level even although Ramos has won more

Same level WTF! Maybe as idiotic all action rash defenders but Ramos is a fine ball player and he scores a hell of a lot of goals for a centre back. Rojo is half the player Ramos is.

It's ok. People clearly don't have a good understanding of what 'player performance' threads should entail. Instead posters run in to tell others to stop slagging off players, or something like that. We should only discuss players when they have good games it seems.

It's not happening tonight as more and more people are now seeing what Rojo brings to the table, but that was certainly the case earlier.

The tide is turning

What part of giving both credit and criticism do you not understand? Nice comprehension skills.

Exactly. People are rightly discussing the tackle and saying it was stupid, which it was. But he's gotten plenty of praise lately and rightly so. He was decent enough tonight but that tackle was just idiotic.

He's going to cost us one of these days if he doesn't stop with these idiotic two footed lunges. May seriously injure another player as well. I know he likes to be aggressive but there is a thin line between aggressive play and dangerous play and he crossed it again today. He's been terrific otherwise but some one needs to have a word with him.

You're the one who's saying people are criticising him again. But sure that tackle deserves criticism. If anyone doesn't understand the consept, it's you.

He really needs to stop those tackles - aside from anything else, these last two have been brought to the attention of every bastard now, and referees will be desperate to send him off if he risks anything, and we can't allow that given how well he is playing now.

The thread moves 2 pages tops when he's had a good game, it moves way faster when he's had either a bad one or a shocking tackle/pass such as this.

If that isn't unfair to you, you're just blind.

I have no problem with people criticising him if they can give him his due credit. That's my entire point. Keep it up though, you'll get what I'm saying eventually.

He is playing well but, I will not be surprised if he gets done now for something he shouldn't. Only seen pictures of the tackle since I missed the game but, sounds like he got lucky and he definitely was lucky against Everton. As someone above said, Mou better be telling him not to give the refs a reason for the next while. Especially now that Bailly might be injured again (and gone soon to AFCON) and Smalling still out.

So yeah I was right all along. He's gotten plenty of praise lately but a big talking point - the awful two footed lunge; the second one in recent times - becomes a hot topic, and you take umbredge. Yeah good for you.

Anyhow, decent enough game apart from the tackle. Hope you enjoyed the win. Big one for us.
