He is better on the ball than he gets credit for, often plays some passes between the lines, he only hoofs it when he can't control it

He hoofs it a lot. I don't think he is a quick thinker on the ball and runs out of time to decide where to pass it so just hoofs it. It isn't a tactic because Jones looks to play out.

TBH, ive been happy to see him hoof it a few times cos some of our other players are losing the ball right on the edge of our own box when Spurs have 8 players in our half.

Playing him in his proper position is helping but fair play to him, making himself undroppable. Two footed challenge last week aside, hes been brilliant. Like a new signing (at a time we desperately needed it).

Played really well today, he's given Kane very little to work with.

Superb performance. Covered for Darmian & defended very well had naked. Well done to him.

Jose has done a magic job with him.

From horrific to pretty damn respectable

Excellent today.

Bullied Kane, and his distribution is good.

Hope he lets Kane out of his pocket to go home to London.

Not your biggest fan Marcos but damn you have been good lately. Good on you!

Sometimes it takes time to get (LVG-ism alert) "match rhythm" and confidence in your role and centre back partner.

Looking strong, committed and playing smart.

Let's hope people will finally start giving him the credit he deserves and not just judge him for his performances at LB.

Thought he was MOTM

Playing like a man possessed

But still would prefer to see jones and bailly as the partnership going forward

I wonder, is this just a purple patch or has Jose somehow unearthed a good CB in there?

A beast today. Anything that came near him was off back the other way in a heartbeat as if he were a skunk to the ball. I'd have him alongside Mkhi as MOTM.

I had no idea how he was playing professional football for United last season. Didn't rate him as a footballer.

Seems like he has turned into a different player under Jose the last month or so. He's been solid, and more confident in his decisions which is what has made the difference, IMO. Good reliable option in defence. Whether or not he can remain consistently good is another question, but I'm very pleased to see him do well.

4 goals in 6 games since he's started at CB - one a penalty. In all honesty, our defense has barely been troubled by Arsenal, Everton and Spurs.

Marshalled Kane with relative ease, really.
