It wouldn't. If anything it would help.Doubt that would prevent us going back in for him....

It wouldn't. If anything it would help.
Those reports are coming from Barca press who think every player is desperate to joing them.
First they said Kroos was rejected twice by Barca, and now Reus is upset.
Thus, we simply have to go in for him. It doesn't matter how much they want, we were willing to go to 47m for Di Maria, we could easily apply that fee to Reus and most likely get him.If we don't sign a wide player I'm not really that fussed. Januzaj is quality and between Nani, Mata, Kagawa, Welbeck, Valencia and Rooney I'm sure they can cover the other flank.
Saying that, with Sanchez, Di Maria and maybe Reus moving this summer we will look like fools if we pass up on them all and are weak on the wings next season.
Best time to go for him IMO. Barca just signed Suarez, Real Madrid are focused on James and PSG want Di Maria.
Next summer these teams would want their next star signing. And Man City will sniff about too.
His buyout clause comes into affect next summer though.
We'd have to pay really big to have a chance this summer.
Put £100 million on the table and then say "give us Hummels and Reus".
As for Reus, Considering his contract situation i do wonder though would they entertain maybe Kagawa + good amount of Cash ?
I think they'd sell Reus more likely than Hummels from what i've read, but dunno.
Buyout clause next summer means they don't even have to offer a ridiculous fee. We'll be well behind in the buyers queue for him next season. So might as well give it a go this season.Surely Real or Barca will come in next summer with a ridiculous fee.

£50m each. They might accept that for one but £100m isn't adequate compensation for turning them into a midtable side.
Klopp could easily build a brand new Dortmund side with £100.

With Barca having bought Suarez, there is no way that they would be in for Reus this or next season. Madrid will simply not have room for him if they get James. If they don't get James they could challenge for him.
I doubt he would go to Bayern considering he has a lot of respect for BVB and knows what Bayern have done to them player-wise the past few years.
No one in Italy would be able to compete and he doesn't seem like a money grabber to go to PSG (who already would have Di Maria).
That leaves England or staying at Dortmund. In England, Arsenal have just bought Sanchez, have Ozil and seem to love Walcott but might be in for Reus. Chelsea have a million AMs but could still compete. City would be the main competitor for his sig realistically.
Logically, we stand a very good chance of getting him. It would be tricky though.
He's good but not that good.
Regarding Reus, he's one of those that look cert to move to one of the 2 Spanish teams next year imo.
Not really. He want CL football, and provided we get that, we have as good a chance as any of the others. Real have Ronaldo and Bale, Barca have Neymar and ratboy. All players who they spent a lot of cash on.
No, I think we will have more competition from our league rivals and Bayern maybe.
They would not sell their two best players in one window immediately after selling Lewandowski. Klopp could rebuild over time but the impact it'd have on fans and squad morale would be detrimental. That would be their three best players gone.
Not to mention the question of whether Reus/Hummels would actually want to go to United.
They didn't sell Lewandowski.
I agree with your post though, Reus would only leave this Summer if an insane bid came in for him. I might see Hummels leaving considering they have Subotic and Sokratis (who played very well last season). They've also spent a lot of money so far this Summer.
This coming from a club that likes to try and balance their books each year.
Madrid have Ronaldo/Bale for the wings, surely they won't sign a top player there?
Not to mention Jese looks a top talent if one of them gets injured and they still have Di Maria.
Yup, you'd feel its now or never for him!Nail on the head mate...
Go all out for this lad pronto!
Agreed. And even it ain't big wages, the lure of Real/Barca will be huge. Then it will be a ridiculous salary to blow everyone else out of the water.
Soon to be replaced by James Rodriguez.
Have Barcelona dropped their interest in Cuadrado? Or was he just a backup in case Suarez deal went balls up?
I wouldn't be surprised if PSG went in for Reus next summer tbh. He'd replace Lavezzi who'd be 30.
Dortmund refused to sell Lewandowski to their rival club thus he's joined Bayern Munich at the end of his contract freely. Financially, BvB should sell Reus this summer for money sake, seriously, 35m for such a player like Reus is absolutely a steal. Next season when his buy-out clause becomes active, many clubs'll line up to get his sign, Unless BvB can convict him to sign new contract, I personally don't think it's good idea to keep him. But BvB let Lewandowski go for free just to send a message... so who knows but I hope Woody see this scenario and offer 50-60m pound for him, definitely worth it. Next season we won't have much chance when City,Bayern,RM, Barca join the fight. They would not sell their two best players in one window immediately after selling Lewandowski. Not sure, would he really fit their style at all? Can't see how they'd need him for anything other than a backup and even then they still have Pedro floating around who can play both sides.
PSG could be an option but I don't think Reus is the kind of player that'd want to go there. I think he'd prefer a club in a top league rather than a club like PSG/Monaco. They will probably replace Lavezzi though, who I don't rate too highly.
Reus--Cavani--L.Moura wouldn't be a shabby front 3, assuming Ibra will be getting on a bit by the time they sign him, although he shows little sign of slowing down. He could move on again as well, never seems to stick around.

More like...
-- Reus -- Cavani -- Di Maria --
It's hard to know a players character tbh. I thought Gotze would stick at Dortmund for several years and instead he goes and becomes a bit part player at Bayern. I rate Lavezzi, he's a good player imo, but replacing him with Reus is a no brainer.
City will probably go for him, Arsenal would certainly be interested. We'd have so pretty fierce competition for him imo even if we removed Barca/Real from the equation. feck, I bet Bayern would go for him if given the chance too.

Wing back. It's where he started his career and he'd do well to replace the now old Alves as a top, top offensive threat who isn't up to much defensively.Sport and MD still think Barca are interested in Cuadrado. Though how they'd use him I don't know.
