Good signing for a decent fee. A bit ridiculous he wasn't registered in time for Liverpool when seemingly the deal was 'done' the whole week. I mean he wouldn't have started on Sunday but surely he'd have been good for a good 15-20 minutes at the tail end of the game. Instead, our midfield options off the bench are Collyer and Eriksen.
 
Hope he does a wrestling entrance and tackles one of the liverpool lot when the referee isnt looking then runs back to the stands

He hasn’t trained for a few weeks, hasn’t trained with the squad and doesn’t know any of the tactics throwing him on against Liverpool is a huge sink or swim moment.

Interesting comments by Ashworth. Especially the bolded bit. Also found it interesting that the club wanted to mention his tackles per 90mins in the statement. If ball winner was the profile we targeted for defensive mid then he's among the best alongside Palhinha. Ugarte is like 6 years younger than Palhinha and cost less than him too.

In that context, it's a very good signing. Excited to see him play for us.

It's really not as difficult as you make out. Good players adapt. The alternative is a past-it Eriksen and a pretty average kid in Collyer.
 
Welcome to United Ugarte! He looks like a great ball winning midfielder and plays with tremendous passion and aggression. He will be a welcome addition to our midfield.

finding a workhorse to get the best out of Kobbie looks like that was a main priority this summer for Dan
