Most of us gave Owen a chance. They are being cocks, IMO.
Could be a strange situation this - Bayern could end up without Neuer, and they could also end up losing Thomas Kraft who is a very talented 23 y.o goalkeeper - simply because he wont renew his contract until he knows they wont sign Neuer. And if Neuer delays his decision - chances are he will leave anyway.

Bayern fans on this forum seem to be very Pro-Neuer. Perhaps it's just a minority that doesn't want him to sign for them.

It is, I have seen many Bayern fans looking forward to getting him. And even those who are sceptial will make a U-turn. It's always the same with Bayern fans - first they moan, but as soon as Neuer makes the first super save in their goal, even the biggest critics will change their opinions. They are fickle and as Jaap already said, there's a reason why they are called the schickeria. Give them nice players and an expensive sandwich and they will be happy.

I still think that if Bayern do not not make it into the CL, it will be an issue for him. It may also be an issue for Bayern. Would they be willing to pay what will surely be the best part of €30m on a goalkeeper during a season where they'll be without CL revenue.

My thoughts on the situation fwiw: I think Neuer has decided to move to Bayern providing Schalke are compesated properly. Its as complete as it can be but I do think his mind can be changed. Things like playing in Manchester, United tabling a bid and Bayern not qualifying for a CL spot. Its a very very very slim margin for us however there is still a small chance.
If we are to go after Neuer I hope we don't miss out on De Gea in the process. Up until last week it seemed De Gea was all but done but now I'm not sure if SAF won't try to bid for Neuer. Worst case scenario for me is we miss out on De Gea & Neuer, ending up with someone we never really wanted.
I imagine he spoke to the MEN because the MEN rang him up asking if a nice reception from Old Trafford would change Neuer's mind.

Hannover lost to Monchengladbach today so it looks like Bayern will make it into CL eventually.
Everyone accepts him as a 2nd choice keeper. The last time we settled with having 'decent number 2's' as our number one was an absolute disaster for us.

NUmber of reason I would suggest, not even seen the game however things like Schalkes unbelievably bad match in the CL might lead to a bit of a hangover, he might be a tad nervous playing in front of his new fans, Schalke's defense played like tuesday, Bayern are fired up because hannover lost at home allowing them to gain ground on the CL spot.

That rules this out completely then. Fair enough if he wants to stay in Germany. Bayern are a giant of a club, who need a keeper and have the possibility of acquiring the German number 1. Absolute no brainer. VDS reckons the replacement is already lined up anyway so we've clearly done our research.
