    Hope it's NOT for showboating.
May he continue giving us his skills and being more productive afterwards.
    Exactly

shouldn’t shackle players who got to where they are because of their skill. Imagine if Ronaldinho got asked to tone it down, we’d be deprived of hours and hours of Ronaldinho YouTube best skills / goals videos

Rashford Ronaldo Elanga as the forwards…
If that is true then there is a reason for it. We are likely to dominate and have Bruno and Eriksen on the ball a lot. All 3 of the forwards like to make runs, something we will need. There is less creativity needed from the front and much more running in position and playing of the shoulder especially after turn overs from pressing. Sancho has been very passive in this part of his game.

    This wouldn’t please me.

Me either although if Antony has a knock, and with Sancho out of sorts, probably the only way to go.

I assume it will be Rashford on the left, Ronaldo central and Elanga right?

Wonder if EtH saw something he liked with both Rashford and Ronaldo on together v Sheriff? It also gives the option of a front 2.

If we want to make the top 4, these are the kinds of games we have to win and these are the kinds of weekends when we absolutely have to win. Chelsea lost, Liverpool lost. Home game in primetime. Nothing less than a win is acceptable today.

Could be a frustrating day with that forward line. Three attackers that barely look for teammates or bringing others into play.
Probably the trio with the least ball retention ability in our attacking ranks - will be interesting to see if we continue the trend of controlling games. ETH probably looking for some directness

Antony clearly on the naughty step after his trick but we’re dressing it up as a knock given the fuss over the Ronaldo discipline. Ten Hag is strict man!

I hope you’re right and not ETH feeling compelled to play Ronaldo. I know he likes Rashford and I too think Rashford does well in his system just doesn’t finish the chances but hopefully with chances that will come.

My problem is that if Ronaldo plays Rashford goes wide and becomes quite wasteful. Bruno, rightly, gets called out for losing possession. But when out wide Rashford is just as bad but with poor decision making running too long with the ball etc.

When he plays as a 9 under ETH I think it’s much better, he does well to fire off most of the chances he gets and usually forces a good or decent save.

Elanga I really haven’t seen anything yet to convince me that at best he’ll ever be more than a squad player who one day gets sold for a decent fee.

Antony is always our best wide player even when he’s playing crap.

absolute bullshit, Antony also did that trick many times for Ajax, never was a problem

Antony was subbed at half time by design supposedly to give him a rest so he could start this game, so I don't see him being dropped this game to start Elanga.

Rashford, Ronaldo, Elanga... Dear, dear... :wenger:

Can't get Gakpo in soon enough, if you ask me.

Ten Hag did say in his press conference the other day that Elanga has been impressing in training and it was between him and Garnacho to start on Thursday so I guess it makes sense if Antony has a knock.

Really don’t think so. He was doing that at Ajax. It’s really a huge drama.. when Harry Kane failed to turn up for training 2-4 consecutive days in a row there was no condemnation by these pundits.

Elanga and Ronaldo, is Ten Hag trying to give Moyes his first league win at Old Trafford?

Ten Hag said after the match that he was going to correct him. By correct he means discipline (correctional facility etc) - slightly clumsy use of English perhaps.

Looks like Maguire is starting as well according to the leaks.

Probably been posted already. But Antony has picked up a knock in training apparently.

Tbh we probably have no choice considering how big the West Ham team is. We need some aerial ability on set pieces.

2 goal conceded minimum if he is playing
Deffo they are going to target him when he is on the ball. Rather prefer McT, if we needed height but we shall see. The leaks don't have Lindelof on the bench as well so not sure if he picked up any injury again.

Urgh that team looks minging, the drop off after 1 or 2 injuries

A relatively easier fixture is going to be made tough I think. West ham have been quite ok lately and is a good time to play them but I hope we don’t give them too much opportunities to get them in to form
