It's very, very rare for any club to have a full squad to select from, at any given stage of any season.

Leicester when they won it did have a good run. Fewest injuries in the league and very few to their main players.

Arsenal are just doing a Leicester.

Next year they'll be back where they belong.

Another night of Spanish shithousing to suffer through.
At least if we get through, we won’t face another Spanish team in the semis or the final!

Also, Sevilla have been pretty terrible this season so we should be going for a big easy win. Aha.

    4-0

Others already pointed out that McTominay is injured but there's also this gem about 'scoring goals'. He has 3 in 35 this season. The last time he scored before the Everton game was in November.

I don't understand posts like this. At no stage have I stated that SMT is some prolific player.. my point is that if he was fit, I would pick him because he's played well the last couple of games, and has hit the back of the net a few times.

Why drop a player in form?

Anyway, moot point. But it will be interesting to watch us without Rashford, because we must have a plan...

If we don't win this by 3 clear goals I'll be surprised.

As I said earlier in the thread I watched them live in their game against Celta Vigo and would agree I would be surprised if we don't win comfortably.

They will no doubt raise their game but we are far superior although losing Rashford and his goals is a blow.

I was only away a week and stepping off the plane in Manchester last night after 30 degree heat felt like I had arrived into the artic. Poor Sevilla lads will be freezing tonight.

You literally said 'he is scoring goals'. He scored one goal for United in 2023. And no, I don't care about what he did for Scotland, it's irrelevant.

I hope the plan doesn't involve Weghorst but I'm afraid I'll be disappointed.

    Y
Sevilla away results in Europe this season

    Europa league

PSV 2-0 defeat (2nd PSV goal came in the 95th minute)
    Fenerbahce 1-0 defeat

    Champions league

    0-0 v FC Copenhagen
    1-1 v Dortmund
    Man City 3-1 defeat

    Away form in La Liga

    Played 14 Won 3 Drew 4 Lost 7 Scored 15 Conceded 26

Yep that means the tide will turn 1-0 Sevilla tonight. And I’ll be in the stand watching in disbelief thinking feck my life!!

this game could also be a measuring stick on how we might look in league without rashford. If we just look like absolute gash things could get interesting in the league for us. Really wish spurs and newcastle hadnt turned things around last game but oh well.

I am pissing myself afraid of this game. Europa League or not.

Not only do English clubs are crap against Spain clubs but we are in a bad point against a serial winner of the cup.

Has to go with Sancho left, Martial starts. Antony on the right. Casimero and Fred or Eriksen. Varane back in. AWB to start as well for me.. I'd take a 2-0 tonight.

A two-goal win would be near perfect. More than that, without Rashford... probably unrealistic.

I wish people would stop going on about "English clubs don't do well against Spanish clubs" especially after the last two rounds, as well as Sociedad only getting an advantage from a refereeing decision.

What do you mean we are in a bad point? We're at home and should be more than capable of winning this by a couple of goals.

We will smack the living piss out of them.

Hope Sancho, Martial and Antony all start, interested in seeing how they do together.

If Eriksen is physically ready, he can be a goal threat with Casemiro covering midfield.

Good time for some players to prove their actual worth without best goalscorer.

Need a big win so we can take the 2nd leg in an easy manner. Would be horrible to fail top 4 due to 4 full force UEL quarter/semi final games

Wanna see Casemiro pair up with Sabi. Erikson at 10 and Martial up front.

This’ll be two consecutive games at Old Trafford where it isn’t raining.

    One for the record books.

So I'm guessing its a front three of Sancho - Martial - Antony? Hope we see a midfield of Eriksen, Bruno and Casemiro too.

Hopefully that’s Bruno laying deeper and sabitzer further forward again! Worked pretty well at the weekend. Should be even better with casemiro back.

The best team we could have put out tonight. Going in strong for this. I like Bruno deep, wonder how he gets on alongside Casemiro. Might be a decent partnership. 1 deep lying playmaker and 1 advanced.
