There's no way that's the team. Id be stunned if varane is playing.

Even if it is, getting players off at 45 is decent rest if tie is finished. People are obsessing over rest but really we'll have had a comfortable spell between the 2 league games

I seem to remember Ajax fans saying he really doesn't like to rotate when we hired him. Guess this is what they were talking about.

At the game tonight so glad if we're starting a strong team, get to half time then make some changes

With the fixtures we've got and the first leg differential we have.....man, I mean I get it, you don't want any surprises, but at some point you just have to trust the young talent you have. Hell, if everyone were this conservative we'd never see Pedri and Gavi before their 20th birthday.

Be good to see these off early doors but the media already have a hard on for the geordies in the final, they’re desperate for a Manchester United, Newcastle United final but they’re even more desperate for a Newcastle win.

Saudi Arabia are the good guys now?

I guess anyone is facing United, they'd be cheering on death row if they were released to face us.

He said in the press conference before the first leg that games have replaced training games and the players are happier for it.
Makes sense since you’d get little training prep with a game every three days

Pretty much our strongest team bar Rashford.

I fully trust ETH but I find it hard to justify playing Varane and having Lindelof and Maguire on the bench. And playing Casemiro is a huge risk considering Mctominay is out for a while too.

    Strong team.

Get them to 2-0 at HT and then ease Martial and Sancho into it.

Also give some minutes to the captain just so he doesn't sulk too much

Lisandro and Varane are the biggest surprise for me. Thought he would go with the old Lindelof-Maguire combination considering they have a 3 goal cushion.

    Jesus

Strong team that, god knows why we aren’t rotating the squad more.

Ten Hag is not fecking around.

    Not even resting Varane.

Varane's not played since the 22nd Jan (unused sub against Forest and Reading). Needs some game time before we go into the next month of crucial games.

    Super strong line up.
Surprised to see that. Maybe another one like Saturday where he wants to go 2-3 up and then play the rest of the squad.

Also, keeps the players in form I guess. We will see the impact of this only later in the season, around the 28-29 game mark in the PL.

Starting Varane seems an unnecessary risk, Casemiro as well though I get midfield options are short

Well, count me in for the lack of rotation moaners club. Pellistri must be happy

EHT just ever rests anyone important enough. He did the same thing in Ajax, where he (almost) never rotated even though they had many talented young players.

We are gonna drop so many points March onwards. The team will be dead.

Was he really lucky with injuries or something?
