Manchester United vs Leeds (Wed 12th July, 16:00 UK time)

Kids is the second half looked alright.

I would like to mention Kovar, Emeran, Hugill and player of second half Aaroen.

Lots of good performances, good start to the preseason.

Good set of GK’s we could have this season.

Onana - 1st choice
Kovar - 2nd choice
Heaton - 3rd choice

Impressed by Mainoo (oozes class), Fernandez (high technical level), Hannibal (the right amount of aggression mixed with his technical qualities) , Amad (will be one of those technical monsters Pep fancy), Emeran (reminds me of Wilfred Zaha). Mount had a solid debut he'll bring both industry and creativity.

Leeds waiting until the second half to bring on their big guns and still losing to our kids has amused me no end.

very impressed with the distribution of Kovar, super composed. De gea would’ve fluffed a few of those clearances guaranteed. Happy to give him a shot at number 2 next season.

Kovar looked good but at the moment I don't see any of that 2nd half team really having a future at united.

Nobody mentioning Hansen-Aaroen, but I thought he was really good in the second half.

Must be his preference for some personal reasons? He more than deserved the #4 shirt, for sure

Yeah it must be. I thought I read somewhere that he wanted the number 4 but Jones wouldn’t give it up. He must have gotten used to and liked the number 19

Could none of those lads have played last season instead of Wout

I like your list, but I'd add Hansen-Aaroen.

The MUTV interviewer is quite comical with his exaggerated expressions

It's going to be like last preseason isn't it, where the youngsters looked better than the first team players

Only one or two of them will get a chance.

I hope Aaroen will get a good loan.

I mean for first teamers this is literally a fitness thing. For young players this is a chance to stake a claim in the first team squad.

Our defense in that second half did well against an experienced attack.

Special mention to Fish who was good, when in the last pre-season he had a mare and looked a nervous mess. Shows the development players can have with a good loan.

Not sure I agree, unless you just meant for today's game. You'll only get fit if you give 100% as pre season goes on.It's a good chance to build form and confidence at the very least. The fitness should come naturally with game time and training, if you're putting in the effort.

Yeah today. As it goes along I would expect it to get more serious.

I wish we could sell Sancho this summer (yeah, I know - unlikely), use money we make for him to strengthen midfield and give Amad a chance on the right wing, instead of repeatedly being disappointed by Sancho

He was sooo good at Dortmund though. It boggles the mind...

The youngsters looked great last year as well in pre season including people like Iqbal yet Garnacho aside, no one else was able to break into the first team and actually get some game time. Will see how it plays out in the season.

Based on this game and what I’ve seen of him before, if we’d played Hugill instead of Weghorst for as many matches last season, then a) we’d have been no worse off as a team and b) he probably would have scored more goals (Weghorst definitely would not have scored that chance today).

I’m not saying he’s the next big thing, but I genuinely don’t know why Weghorst deserved so many more opportunities in half a season than Hugill will probably get in his entire United career.

Emeran looks very talented I have to say. Hadn't seen him much before today
He was really highly rated when we brought him over but he suffered some really bad injuries shortly after and all the hype died down by the time he returned. Not sure there is the same excitement now with regards to his ability to reach his earlier perceived potential.

Thought I heard that Kovar's Czech team would be playing champions league and it so, it'd make far more sense for him to go there and get a CL campaign under his belt to juice up his price tag if we need to sell him in the future.

Only judging the first half because there's no point rating the second half kids who are just there for the experience:

Mainoo - 8
Hannibal, Martinez, AWB, Mount - 7
Everyone else - 6

Just watched the 1st half and I'd put Amad in the 7 range as well. I think he was pretty lively and played well.

I thought Amad was very underwhelming. Other than two cutbacks to create chances for Hannibal and (I think) Sancho, he offered almost nothing.
