Manchester United vs Leeds (Wed 12th July, 16:00 UK time)

I think it all depends on if we are able to sign that Suzuki guy as well. Seeing as there are rumors linking Heaton to Luton, we would be desperately short in GK department. Although I only watched the highlights, Kovar did look impressive last season.

My worry is that he would stagnate as a backup. ETH does not seem remotely interested in giving game time to back up keepers as evidenced by DDG playing every minute of our PL campaign last year and a fair amount of the cup games. Factor in that Erik is not even a fan of DDG and that really underscores that he is not inclined to rotate his number 1 so better to sign a veteran as backup.

5 of these Leeds players played in the PL last season. What a bunch of dross

I'm gutted about Sancho tbh. Had really high expectations but if he can't look half decent in a game like this he's got no chance.
If anyone needs to go on loan it's Sancho.
He certainly looks short of confidence, and a loan to a European club, where he will get regular minutes 'may' allow him the time to regain that confidence.
Time will tell I suppose.

Send Emeran on loan to a good Championship team or one in Europe. Ajax? :)

So how long Before Juve start enquiring about Emeran ? That would be right up their street
Juve may be a stretch, but we should send him on loan to Atalanta, in exchange for a discount on Hojlund :)

Which manager was it that played Brandon Williams a lot? Was it LVG or ole?

Shoretire doesn't waste many balls but I don't think he has a lot of pace

I think Savage has been our best player today. But none of the United players have been decidedly superb.

The most impressive thing is that in the second half our young players have won over a Leeds team with 5 players who were used regularly in the PL last season.

Personally think it took him a while to get used to the tempo. Lost the ball due to too many touches a couple of times. He’s been decent but there’s a fair few who have been better.

A very good half from our young players.

Never seen Emeran anywhere this - can he play Leeds every week ?

Are we back to judging players based on absolutely meaningless games that are glorified conditioning training more than anything?

Thoroughly enjoyed that 2nd half performance. Great well taken goals but we were also solid at the back against a more experienced Leeds frontline. Some of those youngsters were terrific. Emeran, Hugill, Hansen, Gore, Jurado, Kovar to name a few but Will Fish for me looked solid at the back and I’m delighted my local club Hibs have him back on loan for next season. He’s a big fan favourite up here and had that Bamford in his back pocket all half.

Job well done and I’m looking forward to attending the Lyon game here in Edinburgh next week :D

Very promising 1st game. Looking forward to seeing more of the young lads next week

You were saying? ;)
Ten Hag using him on the right to see directly how he does in the role he'd play/compete in. Sancho up top as Rashford and Garnacho are seemingly the main 2 on the left (and probably doesn't want to just toss Forsun up top so he feels he can just move Sancho around).

I’ve been waiting for this post to appear since kick off. Fair play.

Good showing from the young lads. Emeran looks rapid with a bit of skill, maybe he can be what Elanga was supposed to be. Aaroen looked good as did the two CBs. Tidy finish from Hugill too.
