He is badly out of position played up top, does not suit him at all and you can see how uncomfrtable he is there. Amad would have been a better choice but I do think ETH is taking the long view here.

If the goal is to beat Leeds then Amad would be the better option up top in this squad but he is competing to be understudy to Antony on the right so Erik is quite rightly prioritizing seeing how he does in that position. I am fairly sure Erik knows all he needs to know about Jadon and we will see what happens with him once the season starts although I anticipate it will be minimal involvement from the bench prior to a loan back to the BL because we cannot sell him.

I think Ten Hag has done more than most managers would. He needs to take a look in the mirror, he is not an 18 year old anymore, he has been around a bit now.
 
Sancho just doesn't have that intensity in his game and he still shirks challenges.
And unfortunately I just don't see that changing.

His only glaring issue was the poor touch on the pass from Hannibal. Other than that, he’s taking defenders on, having good touches, and as involved in a half as you can expect. But yeah, he hasn’t banged in a brace by now so he needs to be sold. fecks sakes.
 
Mainoo the stand out (apart from Martinez, AWB and Varane). You can see tactically mount will fit in quite nicely. Fernandez, Amad and Hannibal looked lively but not to the level of Mainoo who looks like he's already a first teamer. Sancho is Sancho, still failing to impress.

None of the youngsters looked ready to me. Some looked very good, but not ready for Premier League football. Manager will know, though.

Sancho looked no different than his usual self. He is playing out of position, however.

this is a pre-season for redcafe as well as united. some of you don’t seem willing to put the hard yards in. i’ve already written off all the youngsters and have decided ten hag won’t make christmas. the less said about mount, the better.
 
Stewart Gardner knows nothing about Manchester United.
 
Not learning much from this game, only a few things:

- Sancho does not look like someone, who has taken good care of himself this summer.
- None of the younger players have really impressed (so far).
 
Are MUTV commentating from the International Space Station? Horrible sound quality. Everything about this channel screams 1980s.
 
Kovar is a nice keeper. Big and lithe. Good feet. Calm under pressure. Could be worth moulding. Then again if a good deal comes you sell. He was Sparta Prague’s starting keeper in their championship run.
 
A pretty massive drop off in quality 2nd half which is probably a good thing. Shows that the players trusted in 1st half are of a high level

None? Don't agree with that at all, Mainoo and Hannibal were very good in the first half.

Don't see how you've come to the 2nd conclusion since all of Amad, Hannibal, Mainoo and Fernandez did great

It is so, so weird seeing him in a United shirt.
 
Can't watch this but how is Mount looking? (Not that I put a ton of stock in a first game of pre season but still)

He did well. Went off at half time. Probably our 4th or 5th best player in 1st half after Mainoo, Diallo, Hannibal and maybe Alvaro Fernandez
