That's kinda being my point. Lowering expectations and standards is a dangerous path to take. See Liverpool for example (and Arsenal to some extent, given that they'd happily take fourth place in the beginning of each season).

We declined tremendously during the last three years, but instead of embracing it we should keep our standards high, otherwise those three years would turn to 25 and we'd be a 'next year is our year' kind of team.

That's why I'm strongly against playing first team players and challenging for this cup. Give a run to the fringe players and focus on winning the league and the domestic cups. A EL trophy wou7ld not decorate MUFC's cabinet.

You do know that due to our recent perfomances in Europe ,doing well in this competition will actually boost us in terms of UEFA coefficients thus actually improving our chances of doing well in the UCL .

It's not exactly rocket science.
