Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

Well, it's not a full match formation, but I'd if we started like that and pushed them brutally, score the 3 in 10 mins, sub Zaha out for Carrick and resume normality! Not underestimating, but hey, it still is Palace!

Hehehe

Not even contemplating a loss or a draw then? A smashing is the only result you guys can see?

With or without Falaini, I'm not that confident of the side at the moment.

Yes, I'm a fecking doom-monger.

At home v Palace, I can't see anything but a win plus the lads will be eager to make up for the loss v Liverpool.

DDG
Fabio Evans Vidic Evra
Fellaini Anderson
Zaha Kagawa Nani
Rooney
Would look to rest RvP after international duty. If Rooney is still injured, I'd start with Hernandez.

Take out Vida , Evra and Rooney, bring in Smalling, Jones and Hernandez and everybody's got a match under their belt and DM has a full team to select from, so he actually can select his best players, if he really wants to

I think a lot are underestimating Palace. If we played a 2nd team and dropped points then Moyes would rightly be castigated. I'd rather play a strong team in this and rest players vs Leverkusen.

Palace are really poor. We will win this comfortably.

Just saying like. This might not be as comfortable as we'd like. Especially because we need it so badly for face/morale.

I'm not saying that I think Utd will lose/draw, I'm just saying that there are four possible outcomes: Smash it, win, draw or lose. Not just the two outcomes (smash it or win comfortably) everybody seems to be talking of so far in this thread.

We can field two good teams in both this and Leverkusen game. We have a lot of players who haven't had chance to play that much this season so we can make good formation. Anyway, I agree that we shouldn't play a very weakened team cause it can backfire. For example with only Fellaini in midfield as some genius posted. Even with both Fellaini and Ando looks a bit unbalanced for me.

we usually find it quite tough against the lower teams like these as they tend to sit back and defend the whole game. Play a pretty strong side against them and then make subs later on

I don't think resting RVP would be a good idea, he needs to be scoring in as many games as possible, strikers rely on confidence and goals flowing, even if you consider Palace to be beatable without him ( correct). Even with Palace having some confidence after winning 3-1 last outing still going with my 5-0 prediction.

Always makes me cringe that. No club in the EPL can take another for granted. You could rest one maybe, but field a weakened team and you lose games ( 2-3 to blackburn or 0-1 to QPR). Play a strong team, go 2-0 up at half time, then rest them.

We're playing Palace at home, RVP might not need a 'rest' but Hernandez certainly needs the games.

Resting players is hardly a crime. We have a huge squad and need to use it. 3-4 changes should be fine.

Seriously? This is completely ridiculous. Van Persie has been at international duties and needs a rest at some point and Crystal Palace is the place to give him that much needed rest.

I am hoping to see kagwa, fellaini and Nani start this one.
Shinji's game for japan is on tuesday, so he can be back in manchester by wednesday evening, that should be in time for him to be available for a game on saturday right?
so following is the line up i want to see
ddg
fabio vidic smalling evra
carrick fellaini
nani kagawa welbeck
rvp

I think you are going to be disappointed..

Just go with it... Zaha and Nani to start.. Fellaini Carrick and Kagawa central. RVP on top.. 5-1 Utd.

I think you are going to be disappointed..

Giggs is guaranteed to start after his break.

We'll play shite and one of his 1 in 100 long balls or flick ons will come off and the Forum will be throbbing for him again despite being pedestrian for the rest of the match and having a 65% pass completion rate.

I would like to believe that Giggs was being played because of the absence of Kagawa, Rooney and Nani. That is what I have been telling myself, cause the hope is that Moyes won't be picking Giggs before most of our other players.
If Giggs starts this one, and the reason is not a genuine fitness issue for Kagawa AND Nani, I will be making my first negative post on the "Moyes so far" thread.

what about fabio?
I am hoping he will get a game in absence of rafael and jones.
he has not been involved, i think he was on the bench for one game. has he been unavailable or is it just that moyes chose others(even buttner) ahead of him?

If Smalling starts at RB ahead of Fabio, in the absence of Rafael and Jones then it's a bit of a worry.
Kagawa should be be in for a start given that he played most of the game for Japan the other day and played well apparently.

so fabio is and has been available?
shinji has a game on tuesday in japan. that should allow him to take a morning flight(japan time) on wednesday and be back in manchester by wednesday evening(uk time). that should be sufficient for him to be available right?
