Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

It's hard to judge how Moyes will use the squad here. , the main issue is we face Leverkusen and City after this. It'll be key how we manage Ferdinand and Vidic for those two games. They could both start this match due to not being involved in Internationals, but my expectation would be that Ferdinand plays against Leverkusen and City, while Vidic plays Palace and City. Smalling/Evans will probably face Palace/Leverkusen.

Hernandez, Kagawa, and Nani will all benefit from the International duty to gain fitness, but at the same time it might mean none of them start (I can see at least two of them getting on off the bench though, they really need to be in the team). I'm of the opinion that these three players could be the difference between drawing and winning a lot of games this season. They'll probably end up coming off the bench to do this a lot, but we need them sharp ASAP (as seen in lack of chances against Chelsea and Liverpool, though both made some impact against Liverpool, they weren't given enough time and probably weren't fit enough in the first place). I can see Valencia potentially being left out, while Carrick and Cleverley could be given some form of break (subbed off / rested completely) which probably points to Anderson starting. Moyes will probably want to give Fellaini his debut at Old Trafford, but as a substitute. Young is shit but might be involved simply due to the opposition. Evra is another who we could rest here and let Buttner player, but I'm not sure. It might be a bit much on Evra if he plays both Internationals for France, then Palace/Leverkusen/City as well. If Buttner is going to play, it should probably be the Palace game from that selection. The same goes for van Persie, with two Internationals and three games over a week, he should probably be on the bench for Palace.

Rafael Smalling Vidic Buttner
Carrick Anderson
Nani Rooney Giggs

Lindegaard; Evans; Cleverley, Fellaini, Kagawa; Welbeck, van Persie

Young, Zaha, Jones could all be involved too, but would like to see Fellaini and Kagawa subbed on the most. Should be enough to beat Palace at home and score some goals.

Obviously, if Rafael and Rooney aren't ready, it'll be a bit different :P

I would expect Fellaini to start 100%.

Perfect home game to get him in the side and see what he can do.

I want to see players who haven't played (that need to get games under their belts), but the reason they (Kagawa, Nani, Zaha, Fabio etc) haven't got the time in our first 3 games to begin with is due to the very difficult opening to the season, & either they weren't experienced (Fabio) enough or match-fit (Nani/Kagawa). One would think this is the ultimate opportunity to reshuffle the entire team, but I still feel we need to put out a team that will give us the best chance of absolutely trashing Crystal Palace, after what has been a bad last 2 games (the results themselves weren't horrendous, rather the way we attained the said results).

I would like to see:

-------------De Gea-------------
Fabio----Evans----Vidic------Evra
--------Carrick-----Fellaini--------
Nani----------------------Kagawa
------------Rooney---------------
-----------Chicharito--------------

With RVP and Valencia the first to come on from the bench should we not be comfortable after an hour or so.

Chicharito and Nani were the only people outside of Valencia (who was really the only danger for Liverpool) to pose any threat when they came on, & they need minutes to sharpen up. This game will be the ultimate opportunity. Kagawa also needs match fitness, if he's not already primed to go after his 2 internationals with Japan. Rafael should not be rushed back, and so I hope Fabio gets a game at right back.

4-0 United is my prediction - no disrespect at all to Palace, but after our last 2 games, I wouldn't want to be one of the players in the dressing room after this game if we had lost. We must win convincingly.

Now that we have Fellaini it must surely be safe to rest Carrick?
Carrick needs games imo. He hasn't hit the form of last season yet at all - though he seems to be staying a lot deeper so that might be a factor in why he's been less influential and not dictating the play so much.

It was unthinkable before, but I think that we can finally do it! seeing Carrick resting on the bench will be a sight to behold.

De Gea

Evra
Vidic
Evans
Valencia

Nani
Carrick
Fellaini
Zaha

Hernandez
Van Persie

Hopefully some kids on the bench, should we manage to get a healthy lead.

-----------------DDG--------------------
Valencia-----Rio--------Vidic---------Evra
--------Carrick-------Fellaini-------------
Zaha----------Rooney--------------Nani
----------------RVP--------------------

Bench: Lindegaard, Fabio, Evans, Cleverley, Kagawa, Welbeck, Hernandez

Valencia to play if is Jones is still injured, rafael will still be injured to i guess, else play him ofc.

If Rooney is still injured play Kagawa and put Anderson on the bench in his stead.

I want to give minutes to Zaha and Nani, they need to get involved and get matches under their belt. For Zaha because i want to see what he can do, and because he has to develop, for Nani because he needs to get back into shape.

My father has been raging up periodically since the Liverpool loss and yesterday didn't really help it haha. He said if United want to send a message they will destroy Crystal Palace.

DDG
Valencia-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Carrick-Fellaini-
Nani-Rooney-Kagawa
RVP

That side will tear Palace apart.

We need an empathic win to put Liverpool and the transfer window debacle behind us.

5-0 with goals from Rooney and Kagawa please

de Gea
Rafael Vidic Evans Fabio
Fellaini Anderson
Zaha Kagawa Nani
van Persie

Please...

I don't know if you've broken it to your father, but I think a demolition of palace will send out the same message to city as their demolition of Newcastle sent a message to us.

Not really. You can only beat what is in front of you and it's always good to bounce back strongly after a defeat. He also didn't say it was a message to City.

I think Januzaj will make the bench in either this or the midweek game in Europe.

I think following a loss against Liverpool and the transfer window debacle, Moyes is likely to go with his strongest possible squad and start looking to get safe points on the board.

That's what i'd love to see... not what I think is likely...

I'd still start Carrick then sub him off early if we're bossing it. Hopefully we can do the same against Leverkusen.

So Europe then?

If that's the case then why are we seeing Zaha in lineups? It'll probably be Carrick and Giggs too instead of Fellaini.

I'd rather see Zaha in the lineup than Young.

fecking 10 days away. I hate internationals.

I would also start Carrick as he hasn't got quite into his stride yet and hit the heights of the last two years so he could do with the games, and we shouldn't take Palace too lightly. With Fellaini hopefully making his debut it gives a nice opportunity at home against a weaker team to see what the partnership can do and get some game time together.

Hernandez ahead of Van Persie would be great, and Kagawa surely needs to start this game.

Got to say, I've found it very strange that Zaha hasn't been involved at all in the league games we've had.

Not coming on when we had a 3 goal cushion against Swansea surprised me. But him not being involved against Chelsea and Liverpool was hardly surprising.

VAN PERSIE
KAGAWA - ROONEY - NANI
FELLAINI - CARRICK

If fit then that front four need to be picked together asap.

Would like to see Evans get a game too.

Would also like to see Zaha come off the bench.

I'd disagree there. Could have provided a bit of cut and thrust that was obviously needed in those games. I know Ashley Young did ok when he came on against Chelsea but Zaha is more direct. Just surprised that Moyes deemed him not suitable even for the bench.

Think Moyes should ask Carrick to attack more often. I miss the Carrick of Roma 7 demolition!

That Carrick is a myth, he was great last season but he's not a creative playmaker type.

Good game to get Fellaini in really isn't it? No disrespect to Palace, but they've got 15 players to gel in and they've just come up from the second tier so this really should be a formality and a straight forward win.

Be great to see Fellaini get into the starting eleven and have a blinder straight away. I imagine Rooney might not make it until that cut has fully closed up, I've had stitches in smaller less deep cuts that needed 2 weeks...but if Kagawa and Nani get into the team I'll be happy enough.

Think it'll be De Gea, Rafael, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Fellaini, Valencia, Kagawa, Nani, RVP

Expect to see Welbeck, Cleverley and Hernandez from the bench too barring any injuries.

International football...ugh.

Yeah, I still expect Giggs to play because Young is dreadful and Valencia/Nani will probably play 180 minutes of internationals and travel a fair distance. Nani will probably still start though, but it'll be Giggs on the other side... Gives Welbeck a slight break.

I thought Rooney would make it until I saw that cut... He might come back against Leverkusen instead and then start against City. Should mean Kagawa starts here which I'm fine with, even though he'll probably be a little tired from the travelling and internationals, they'll probably do him more good than bad and he can play at least an hour. Hoping Rafael is fit but he might be in the same boat as Rooney time-wise, get some time against Leverkusen before starting at City.

Again want to reiterate on the defence. Shouldn't matter which keeper starts this, might be a good time to give Lindegaard a start to be honest and keep him sharp. Ferdinand and Vidic have no international duty, but as I've said previously I think they'll be managed in a way that they play 2/3 of these games each (probably playing the City away match together). If Evra is getting a rest any time soon, it's going to be against Palace as well.

For once, midfield seems more difficult to decide on. Does Moyes start Fellaini, or bring him on as a Sub for the ovation? Do we finally rest Carrick? I can see him not playing both internationals, and Anderson should probably start against Palace too. Cleverley I'm not sure on, he'll probably play a part in both England games and be on the bench for Palace. RvP has two internationals and this is the game he's most likely to get a rest in.

Lindegaard
Jones Smalling Vidic Buttner
Fellaini Anderson
Nani Kagawa Giggs
Hernandez

de Gea; Evans; Cleverley, Carrick, Zaha; Welbeck, van Persie

Expected line-up if Rafael and Rooney don't make it, but dependent on how the internationals go as well of course!

If something similar comes about, I'd be hopeful that de Gea, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Valencia, Rooney, and van Persie all came back in for Leverkusen (and probably all play against City too, with Welbeck coming in as well and Vidic replacing Evans).

Got to say, I've found it very strange that Zaha hasn't been involved at all in the league games we've had.
Why? Swansea a, chelses h and liverpool away are 3 of the hardest (I'd argue in top 8) games of the season. No place for someone who has just come up from championship and still learning his trade, especially when against Liverpool even kagawa couldn't get on bench.
However, I'd certainly expect him to start against palace he was by far their best player last year so he should be able to cope against them.

Need to be careful though, we can't be complacent against the smaller sides, no way will/should janujaz start, maybe on bench. However need to stuff these guys, get the tean going

Not really. You can only beat what is in front of you and it's always good to bounce back strongly after a defeat. He also didn't say it was a message to City.

Correct...a message to everyone.

Lindegaard
Valencia Rio Vidic Evra

or if we dare to attack more...

Lindegaard
Valencia Rio Vidic Evra
Nani Fellaini Young
Zaha Kagawa
Van Persie

We're never playing the second formation unless we need 3 couple in 10 minutes or something crazy like that.

I'd rather the first one but with Zaha instead of Young.
