Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

Not sure why some of you are complaining, it wasn't a penalty, clearly outside the box.

Not to defend BT Sport, these four are fecking dreadful.

BT sports going against United shocker.

David James making more sense than the rest of them should be enough for them.

When we try to play through the middle our wide players are too wide and Rooney has nobody to join up with.

feck me, it's Phoenix from the Flames...

It seems to me that the only thing Young ever seems to be involved in that's 'postitve' for United is Penalties, dives and controversy surrounding both. Whilst i;m sure most will take that outcome today just before half time, im sure you would rather have one of the better players on the pitch winning it without this kind of thing.

He's done a few other things as well to be honest.

This BT Sport crap is the worst football coverage I have ever seen.

Well for 30 mins the only notable performers were Fabio, Evra and Carrick. A bit better for the last 15 mins, but a lucky penalty

I'd definitely take a few positives out of this half: We're excellent at the back (though Palace have no interest in attacking) and the pressing is working quite well too. Need to create more clear cut chances though.

Not really. I'd love Palace to get a win today (never, ever going to happen) and would like them to stay up.

I've a few bets on today and pretty much all of them depend on a United win.

I have no real dislike of Man United and my wanting them to lose is down to wanting Chelsea to finish above them and enjoying a good upset.
Just joked about that rivalry thing. It's like most small London teams with trying to have a rivalry with you lot.
I know what you mean, I have no dislike for Chelsea, it's just because we are title rivals every season there's more about wanting them to lose.

Why are the idiots on BT Sport criticising Young for not running in a straight line? Haven't they heard of protecting the ball?

I think he'd almost rather win a penalty than score or set up a goal

Judging by the creation rate so far Im not even sure I should be jumping on over 1.5 goals at 1.14 even with 10 men, but I probably will.

Why do we have to be so extreme. We don't have to censor criticism of him nor do we have to cast hate in his direction. The reality is, he is so out of confidence that he's looking like a liability when he receives the ball (Young's England game a case in point). He slows us down on the left and maybe he should be used more on the right. Didn't Hodgson switch him with Walcott as he just wasn't working out on the left...

That first half was so mediocre, worst thing about it is going 1-0 up so Moyes feels vindicated about that choice of starting lineup. Really would like to see Tony V and Young sold next summer, ain't going to happen though.

I thought BT would be decent but they're as shit as ESPN.

So basically it's now the responsibility of the forward to avoid contact and help the opposition players not give away a penalty.

There was contact, he lost balance, and went down. It's a clear red card.

Twig is right, if it was anyone other than Young nobody would be coming out with this nonsense. It's became fashionable on here to hate the lad.

There is no need to hate him, but his performance was not very praiseworthy to say the least and the dive for yellow was unnecessary. About penalty, I think it was one, but red card was harsh on the palace lad.
Young definitely needs to improve his game and cut down on diving and there can be no two ways about it.

Young got his body between the player and the ball which he is entitled to do. If the defender then makes contact that's his own fault. On reflection it was outside the box but still last man.

For those of us not watching BT, can someone give a quick summary?

*It's rubbish
*Warnock is a gonk
*Jake Humphries makes Chiles seem fascinating

What minute was Carrick's "Zidane turn" in? Is anyone watching this game on BT Sport? The "pundits" - David James, specifically - are hilarious.

I'm enjoying it, it's hilarious. I also agree with them somewhat regarding our penalty. It wasn't a penalty and I can't help feel that Young was on his way down, although I don't think that should have been a second yellow, he simply stumbled.

At least we'll probably get to see Zaha later.
