Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

Hang on, people don't think that was a red? If you think it's a penalty, or could be a penalty, then surely you understand that it has to be a red too? There's little leeway here. If you deny a clear goalscoring opportunity, which he certainly was if you assume that it was a foul in the first place (which I do), then it's a red. Whether or not he breaks is leg or "merely" brings him down without getting the ball in the process is frankly irrelevant.

Decent first half, the wingers need to put better crosses in though, but for one Young cross towards Rooney neither of them seem to be picking out anyone and just floating a cross inside, they need to do more then that. Can see why it was a red but always think those ones are slightly harsh. Hopefully can wrap it up quickly after half time and get RVP rested and give Januzaj and Zaha some time.

Like the other games so far this season, we're dominating and looking comfortable but for the most part creating next to nothing. Things improved in the final 10 minutes of the half, and we got the goal but I'm still slightly concerned at the lack of chances we're creating.

This is a great chance to get some goals and give Zaha + Januzaj some game time. Hopefully a couple of early goals in the 2nd half and those 2 can come on. Would also like to see Hernandez given some game time.

How can it be a foul and not be a red? It's a clear goalscoring opportunity.
I'm not sure but I thought I saw another defender close to young. Like I said, could be wrong. Just saw it once.

Certainly a foul. and also a red.. Young was through on goal. Without that foul, he would've had a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Will probably need a slow mo to be sure if it was inside the box or not..

The Young yellow was annoying. he needs to stop doing that

Clear foul and sending off. Haven't seen a replay that shows whether or not it was in the box though.

It was a clear red card. Not sure about the penalty.

The performance has been okayish. Got better in the last fifteen minutes.

Mate if it was on RVP they'd all say it was a red. The amount of shite we used to talk about Ronaldo going down easily to justify it and now Young does it people are debating whether it should be a straight red.

Young is a decent squad player who broke down this team. Still no-one says anything.

It's getting beyond a joke now.

Your the only one showing himself to be one today.
Funny thing is if it was the reverse situation and Ferdinand took down Gayle for example he'd be calling the ref an idiot and Ferdinand a hero.

I'd like to see that replay again, first view was Young was going down before the Palace player made contact, but may have just been a bad angle. We dominated, created very little. Young was one the whole awful, but he at least kept going. Valencia is out of the game completely, I really don't like our tactics though, we're pumping it wide and throwing in the crosses. That didn't work against Chelsea and it didn't work in this half. The Rooney cross was sublime, but that was on the break.

Broke down this team by going down easily outside the box. Thanks, I'll pass.

Yeah same here. Our final ball has been poor, and strangely most of our attacking play is going through the left. Valencia and Fabio have been mainly non-existent.

Would the Palace lad have been sent off if Anderson did not remind the ref that it was a goal scoring chance?

The performance hasnt been bad at all. It hasn't been stellar.. but how many stellar performances do we get a season anyway? We've been dominant.. and very often, in games like these, we break the team down in the second half.. So to complain about the performance is pointless.
