oh feck off. Young and Valencia have been in terrible form which is why I would have preferred other players to get the nod ahead of them. I am sorry you take offense to that but I couldn't give a shit.

Valencia was in bad form last year, I've been one to be on his back for that. But this season with the number 25 back on his shirt he's looking like he's getting back to who he was.

Im finding it hard to control my anger to the fact that ashley young is starting again. I despise the guy, the annoyance stems from the fact that he is crap at going forward and is so predictable/ average/ destabilising in what he does, plus he keeps better options out the line up... on top of that his arrogance in his facial expressions is beyond belief - your shit so stop acting like you deserve more.

Moyes sort it out.

The rest of the team im very happy with.

I'm of the firm belief that you start the match with your best players, get it wrapped up then make subs. Bring on the likes of Valencia or Young, Chicharito or even young Januzaj for the last 20-30 minutes for a run-out.
I don't know how the pair of them start so much despite being so poor so often.

I guess these are the games for them but the problem is they seem to be first choice for the tougher games as well a lot of the time.

I don't understand many of the complaints about the line-up. It's close to the strongest team we could pick from the players available.

There's no way Fergie would have gone this strong between an international and a Champions League game and he would be heavily criticised in here for not doing so.

Let's be honest. We are now judging him against last season's form which is not the best of benchmarks to set.

Please stop moaning about Valencia and Young. We're playing Palace, they'll do just fine. In regards to Young, if he's going to get back to decent form then this is exactly when he should be starting. Zaha obviously isn't fully fit yet, not to mention being brand spanking new to the club and Nani is obviously being rested for Tuesday.

de Gea

Fabio
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Anderson
Young

Rooney
van Persie

SUBS: Amos, Evans, Cleverley, Fellaini, Zaha, Januzaj, Hernandez.

No Rafael, Jones, Smalling, Nani, Welbeck, Fletcher, Kagawa or Buttner.

Picked with Leverkusen and City in mind?

Good team, I'm glad Moyes has seen sense and put Fabio in ahead of Jones. The rest is pretty standard, glad to see Ando chosen ahead of Clevz because I think he offers a bit more in terms of driving play forward and making himself available for defenders to pass to. Hopefully Hernandez gets on at some point.

In the studio

Neil Warnock, former Leeds United scum
Steve McManaman former Liverpool and Man c
David James "I hate Manchester United"

No Kagawa or Fellaini with Young and Valencia starting has killed off the excitement I had for this game.

Ahh well, hope for a convincing win either way.

I'm a firmer believer that it's a 50+ game season and you need to utilize your squad, especially following the international break and before our managers first Champions League fixture and against probably the second best team in the group.

It's the caf. Been moan, moan, moan for ages in match threads (especially about the lineups) and it ain't gonna change.

Nail. Head.

Hargreaves is useless. He just repeats the same thing over and over again.

Kagawa was in Japan, so he is probably bolloxed from the travelling. Lets hope we see him during the week.

Yeah same as. I was really looking forward to it, but not so much now. We should win anyway.

Young gets a lot of unfair criticism on here for some reason and I don't really understand it. He does his bit for the team in terms of tracking back, he's a decent passer of the ball and he has his moments of playing some pretty creative stuff. It may be two seasons ago but I don't remember too many people complaining when he was dicking all over Arsenal in that 8-2 win. There's more cause for concern with Valencia starting, in my opinion, because he just lacks any form of attack-minded thinking these days.

Spoilt child.

The moaning re team selections really is reaching new lows I feel.

We have a big, much tougher, game on Tuesday. Surely it occurs to you guys that the squad will be rotated.

I think Valencia has looked improved so far this season, he was excellent when he came on against Liverpool, albeit at right back.

I really think that there should be some sort of page that everyone has to read before entering matchday threads, with information such as Kagawa's illness. Would really make things a lot easier.

Damn it's not on sky after I spend £70pcm I can't watch it. What's my options?

There's no way some people will ever feel logically about this. I've given up caring.

I think the reason people are moaning is because they really want to see Kagawa and/or Nani start and scoring goals, and against Palace they would have a better chance.

Then they see RVP and Rooney in the team and think 'well hes not exactly resting the big guns for Palace'( rightly so)

Then they see Valencia and Young there again and it fuels this concern that Moyes prefers them over the other two, combined with Young being pretty much abysmal most of the time, I can pretty much understand some of your frustrations. Fairly sure you will see Kagawa Tuesday though, unless he has the flu really bad.

I'm by no means Young's biggest fan, but as long as he's wearing a United shirt, I'm obviously going to hope that he proves me wrong and plays well when he starts. I don't get all of this anger from some posters on here, support the lads ffs.

He's had a lot of games with England and United, might be rested for mid week.

True. Surprised he's not on the bench but I suppose if Rooney and RVP were preferred to him to start then Hernandez may be a better option to bring on anyway.

Lads it's Palace at OT, Young and Valencia will be more than enough, we are resting the better players for Leverkusen.

Sad to see the Scouse bastard starting ahead of Hermandez
