Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

Why?

It's not rare at all that a new player starts from the bench in his 1st game or two
Just a feeling. Not saying it's wrong though, just one of a few things so far that I notice Moyes and Fergie would have done different.

de Gea

Fabio
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Anderson
Young

Rooney
van Persie

SUBS: Amos, Evans, Cleverley, Fellaini, Zaha, Januzaj, Hernandez.

No Rafael, Jones, Smalling, Nani, Welbeck, Fletcher, Kagawa or Buttner.

Picked with Leverkusen and City in mind?

If that team had Zaha and Nani in for Valencia and Young this thread would be full of erections.

A very unexciting lineup.

Having Fabio there is the only saving grace
Having Fabio in th team is the only saving grace in a side that has players like Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie? God help you.

Surprised Fellaini hasn't been given a start.

Fabio's not even in the team, so he doesn't have that saving grace.

Welcome to the matchday thread. Take a seat, have a moan.

It's a common theme on here. Spoilt people with no perspective.

During the transfer window we were told by so many posters that rumours from the BBC are always correct.

It's funny - their live feed posted that Fellaini starts, they've now changed that to Rooney starts. I feel foolish.

Rooney and RvP both starting?? If ever there was a great chance to give Hernandez a game this was it. Is he not fit or what?

Stop being a dick.

RVP is a nailed on starter so that's a given. But why Valencia and young start is beyond me to say nothing of Anderson

RvP started his first game on the bench against Everton last year. So no, if it was Fergie we could well have had the same team today...minus Young...
That was more because he didn't have a pre season and was signed on the thursday/friday before the game. Berbatov, Saha and Rooney started their first games so it was more that I compared it too. Moyes has done what I expected Fergie would have so far to 99%.

That's a good strong line up. It's looking like Moyes is going to go for the jugular vein and is going to try to get this game wrapped up as early a possible, whip off a few players then with the intention of starting them midweek, Rooney, RvP and Valencia maybe.

Nani not even on the bench? Is he injured or what?

At least the microphone headed feck hasn't gone straight into the starting XI and no Giggs to see anywhere.

To be fair even Anderson can look good against Crystal Palace at home.

Young, agreed. Valencia? No. He's clearly one of our two best wingers.

Why are people so shocked that Fellaini is not starting? Is fairly normal procedure if I am not mistaken,

Ronaldo v Bolton - sub
RvP v Everton - sub
Anderson v Pizza hut - starter
Fellaini v Palace - sub

Yep, thats about right in my book.

Very strong line-up. There's no way we should be conceding today with that back four and Carrick.

It's a shame we haven't gone with some more expressive wide players given the opposition but I suppose it's a chance for Young and Valencia to gain confidence in their attacking play.

Anderson needed a game and needs to play well if he wants to be involved in many games.

Surprised no Welbeck. May have a knock?

Ronaldo was signed one day before Bolton game, RvP already explained.

He's starting, its been confirmed by official MUFC Twitter and BT Sport.

Well on mutv it's listed as rafael, Helen even said rafael. So unless they have it wrong there?

There's one of us being a dick here for sure. I'll give you a clue, it isn't me. They start because our managers wants them to.

Moyes hates Nani. He got him to sign the contract but now he's going to let him rot.

The line-up is a bit meh. Good to see Anderson in there. I hope he has a stormer. Nani and Kagawa still out pisses me off.
