Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Wrong season for all of those; second example wasn't Atkinson (it was Dean, but the official responsible for that error was Simon Beck).

Just to compound things, even if it was Dean for the second example, guess who is the 4th official..... Mike Dean!!

I just don't want what happened the last time mourinho visited old Trafford to happen again, I.e we clearly look the better side but get fecked over by an idiot ref

Well, word is no Rafael and Nani (as well as no Young or Hernandez).

de Gea
Jones Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Valencia Rooney Welbeck
van Persie

Bench will include Kagawa, Giggs, Anderson, Smalling, Evans, and probably Zaha.

Only changes I can see are what Gary Neville was touching upon. Moyes can basically change one player and one position (which are the same thing). It's Wayne Rooney. Either start him, Kagawa, or Giggs in the hole. Or, perhaps the more unlikely option but not a ridiculous move of starting Fábio at Right Back and Phil Jones as part of a midfield three.

2-1, 1-1, 1-2... That kind of close game. Hopefully Moyes decides to attack from the off.

Chelsea's team:

-------------- Lampard ------------
Moses - De Bruyne - Ramirez - Willian
------------ Mata - Oscar ----------
----- Schürrle - Torres - Hazard -----
----------------- Ba ---------------

Any of the Chelsea supporters give a prediction of their lineup?

Would love to see Rooney start purely because no matter what he is a goal threat. However I'll settle for Shinji. If Goggs is picked I'll be sending a letter to that darn Frogie.

---------------De Gea----------------

Jones------Rio------Vidic-------Evra

----------Carrick---Cleverley--------
Valencia-------Kagawa-------Welbeck

Chelsea line up vs United

---------------Cech-----------

--------------Ba---------------

feck knows whats going on in between.

Be nice to see him score another Hat trick and bring OT to its knees, but it wont be as easy this time around! Got a worried feeling Mata will miss this one.

Would be beautiful. As have I, I posted in another thread that I think both Rooney and Mata will sit out, signalling some sort of deal.

I'm just happy Vidic will be playing (right?).

I reckon Lukaku will start for Chelsea, I expect he'll have a good game too. That or Ba starts, and Lukaku comes on and Chelsea wish they'd played him from the start.

Fabio Rio Vidic Evra

Valencia Kagawa Welbeck

That's what I hope to see. Kagawa and Welbeck would have free roles and not be restricted to the center or the left.

Welbeck is going to be key. Sometimes I have the feeling that other teams' managers underestimate him the same way their fans do.

Although thinking about it Mourinho probably won't, given that Welbeck was the best player on the pitch at the Bernabeu and arguably the best United player in the home leg. Nonetheless, he'll be key. He can make a massive difference to both our attacking and our defensive game, particularly given that we're going to want to do our defensive work high up the pitch to try and strangle the supply to Mata, Hazard etc.

Val was so bloody awful in our last game against Chelsea, I don't think I want to see him on the pitch against Cole this time. Put Rooney in there instead of him.

He's also absolutely destroyed Cole before. I don't really want to start Valencia but at this point we don't really have a choice with Nani and Young being injured. I guess you could put Rooney in for Valencia but none of Kagawa, Rooney, or Welbeck have played much on the right. After that we only really have Giggs, Januzaj, and Lingard; Giggs still leaves us with no one on the right and I don't think Lingard or Januzaj are anywhere near ready for a game like this.

That young winger we bought from Palace in January maybe?
;)

Fwiw I think Valencia will start. I remember him being good in the league game at SB last season. I think Zaha might get a sub appearance depending on how the game is going.

Yeah we don't seem to have much choice really. Freaking injuries.

Yep, with Nani injured it's really a choice between Valencia and Zaha in terms of people really comfortable on the right.

Do you also remember his game against them at home? THat was embarrassing.

Shit, I forgot about Zaha, I knew I was forgetting someone. But yeah, even then I'd still start with Valencia at least. Even if he has a bad day going forward he offers solidity. If we need a push later on then Zaha will be a great option off the bench.

Too bad Chicharito is injured, he always scores against Chelsea.

'Embarrassing' is the buzzword of this summer.

We weren't great on the whole in those dead rubbers at the end. I don't remember Valencia in particular being poor (not saying he wasn't, I just don't remember). Not sure I'd leave him out based on that though, considering the other experienced wingers are injured.

Agree.

Well his performance was just that. Was my first time I was at OT and the stadium was furious with him. Slipped around, couldnt get a cross in and was generally incredibly poor.

Anyway he looked better again so hopefully he can continue from the Swansea game and get back to his old best.

Bench: Lindegaard, Smalling, Fabio, Anderson, Giggs, Zaha, Kagawa

We'll win 3-1

No Hernandez? We wont lose, simples.

Surprised so many are putting Rooney in the team, he might score own goals!

Hopefully Jose leaves Mata out

he was great against us last season

If Rooney plays I think I'll back him to be man of the match - the odds are 10/1 and I can see sky giving him MOM even with a half decent performance - its the dream interview for them with the transfer bollix

except for the last 2 games, the cup replay at their place and the league game at OT!
