Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Is he injured? when is he expected back for us?
I think he got injured in the behind closed doors game against Betis. Moyes implied him Nani and Young were still recovering from their injuries, but not too far away. I'd love if it was a Fergie style bluff but doubt it somehow.

I'd be happy with a draw, especially this early in the season.

Hernandez brings so much for us when he comes on. I hope he gets a lot more games for us this season. I would hate for him to eventually leave because he is unhappy for lack of games.

I can't see why we should settle for anything less than a win. We have a strong team, a Welbeck and RvP in good form and we are at home where we are on a good streak. The one thing I think is making people less incline to believe in us is Moyes being present rather than Sir Alex, but that's also a huge discredit to the amount of talent that we have at our disposal.

We played them the most out of any team last season, and they haven't improved their squad anymore than we have bar Willian (who won't be available for this game surely?) Shall be an interesting contest for sure.

When asked about Mou a United fan on SSN just told the interviewer 'Mournho is not playing, he won't be on the pitch, it's about man United against Chelsea and I believe our players are good enough to win'. He seemed a but surprised by the response but Mourinho is fast becoming the main spectacle for the media, the game is just the sideshow.

I think a loss would hurt us more than a win would benefit us, I really don't want Moyes to attract the extra media pressure a defeat would bring. I'm being conservative, a draw will be fine for now.

Don't agree with that, they've definitely improved their squad more than we have. Besides, they have a better manager than they did last year, we don't. It's gonna be very close.

No problem with that personally. The 'big talking point' before a game rarely turns out to be the thing that dictates the result. Fergie used to like it when some sideshow took all the hype and pressure away from the United players. Remember Beckham's 'return to OT' with Milan. We battered them.

Schurrle and van Ginkel, hardly first team players who we should be frightened of. They are back up players for now; van Ginkel looks like one for the future, but I don't see Schurrle as anything special. I am referring to the match tonight and who is available. They have strengthened more than us with those two and Willian, but I wouldn't say it makes their first team stronger.

They also have Lukaku returning to the club after a good season, that'll be a big plus for them. They haven't improved their 1st team much but their squad looks a lot stronger. I don't think we've improved as much. We're still better, it's just closer than it was.

In which case I'll expect it to be:

--------Cleverley--Carrick--------
-Valencia----Rooney----Welbeck
--------------RVP--------------

David McDonnell

'Yeeaaaarrrns to join.'

--------Cleverley--Carrick--------
-Valencia----Rooney----Welbeck
--------------RVP--------------

If I knew my team were going to line Cahill and Terry/Luiz up against that strike-force, I'd be worried. Just a shame the ultimate super-sub isn't fit too.

I hope United will not loose to Martin Aitkinson's again.
He is Chelski's danger man.
For some reason, Chelski got good results against United
when he is the referee.

A loss would hurt doubting fans' minds more than the team's - judging by the projecting harmony of the squad (outside of Rooney's shenanigans). Moyes is at Manchester United, he will attract media attention whether he wants to or not. What he should do is buckle up and learn to deal with it, which I think he has done decently thus far.

Nice poem, would be better if it rhymed though.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Zaha got a nod for this one. Just a feeling I got
Yeh not a bad shout although I can see Moyes going with the experience of Tony for this. It might be just slightly to early for Zaha to be starting in a game like this. We wan the win. We should be giving this lot a tonking tonight to put Jose in his place.

I'm sure he'll handle it fine, it'll irritate me to feck though. It'll only take a few bad results before we get "Moyes isn't up to it, failed in the transfer market and on the pitch, United under pressure, should've gone for Mourinho," etc. feck that. I'll happily take a nice, uneventful start to the season. Nothing spectacular, just getting the job done. Anything more than that is a bonus.

Not a chance IMO. We need Valencia to help protect jones against hazard. Zaha will be too risky to begin with. We could certainly use him as an impact sub though.

Fancied us the entire time to win this one. Don't think we'll lose any of our tough opening 5 fixtures.

Rooney will have the stormer I've been predicting for weeks on end as a big 'feck you' to the media and critics and Welbeck will have another MOTM performance.

Hypothetically you can, but you wont. IF you do win and that's a very big IF it will be very tight, as you have never stuffed a Jose team, ( the 2-0 win vs Inter being the closest) let alone a Chelsea Jose team. Sounds like we're both really up for this one, cant wait!

Did we not beat you 3-0 near the end of his first rein? My memory may well be playing tricks on me but I though Jose was there.

But will he want to dent the title hopes of the team he will be playing for a week later?

No as said that was Scolaris balls up. You did beat us 2-0 under Grant which I think was the first game after Jose, but still not Jose
