The team picks itself I think, the only question mark is if Fergie will go with Park/Giggs or Tevez, I really hope it's the latter.

Nervous BahamaRed?
Not as nervous as for the PL. I'd say more anticipation.....this is a funny week....everything ending.....we're gonna be without United for some months after this week and that's what's ailing me right now.
I feel we're going to make history on Wednesday and I'm like a little boy waiting for Christmas.

Vidic accuses Drogba

United star hopes for strong officials

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has accused Didier Drogba of being a diver ahead of their UEFA Champions League final clash.

Vidic will lock horns with Drogba in Wednesday's showpiece in Moscow and the United ace hopes the officials will be aware of the striker's theatrics.

The giant Serbian Vidic believes Drogba exaggerates fouls to make defenders think twice before challenging him in the penalty area.

Pretends

"Sometimes he [Drogba] goes in very strong and sometimes he pretends he is weak. He plays with your mind and tries to make the defender think about the next tackle," Vidic told The Sunday Times.

"He can pretend he fell down to win a penalty, but referees know that. The Champions League final is a big game and I'm sure the ref will know his job.

"He's a great player and he's a top scorer. It's a hard job to stop him."

Vidic has already suffered at the hands of Drogba this season after being stretchered off with concussion during United's defeat at Stamford Bridge when Drogba accidentally kneed him in the head.

No blame

Vidic says he bears no grudges against Drogba following the clash which left him injured.

"He went for the ball and I don't think he wanted to kick me. It's in the past and I don't think about what happened in the past," added Vidic.

"I don't know if he said sorry. I remember nothing from those first five seconds after it happened, but he didn't need to apologise. When a player doesn't mean to kick me yet it happens, I understand that."

Just had too do it before the game.

Mr Grant's last final with Chelsea was a bit of a tactical cock-up, lets hope history repeats itself.

Slovakian referee in charge in Moscow

Slovakian referee in charge in Moscow

UEFA have confirmed that Slovakian referee Lubos Michel will take charge of the Champions League final between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Michel, who turned 40 last week, was the referee who awarded a highly-controversial goal to Liverpool against Chelsea in the semi-finals of the competition in 2005.

Then Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho always insisted the shot from Luis Garcia had never crossed the line.

Michel is one of the top referees in the world, however, and is highly experienced having officiated at both Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup, including the tense Germany v Argentina game in the first knock-out round.

He also refereed the 2003 UEFA Cup final where Mourinho's Porto triumphed over Celtic.

Language barriers should not be a problem either as Michel speaks English, Russian, German and Polish as well as his native tongue.

At Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday, Michel will be backed by the assistant referees who have accompanied him at his major tournaments: Roman Slysko (34) and Martin Balko (36).
The fourth official will be Vladimir Hrinak (44), also of Slovakia.

The pitch is "below Premiership standard", according to Sky Sports.

:annoyed: Some of the guys giving interviews on SSN, are saying it's awful.

i want to see terry cry and roman pull his hair out of his head when we lift the big one....i want to see roman spend another 200m and still come second in the league..i want the bastard to be an absolute failure in football..money cant buy class you rent scum.

in saf we trust.

Had a dream about this. We won 8-6 with Rooney and Drogba scoring 5 goals each! Woke up and was not happy about it being a dream then again, 8-6? 5 goals each? no chance!

Anyway back to the real match. This match should be 1-0 to either team. Would be shocked to see more than 3 goals in this match over 120 mins.

We started the season with a win on penalties against Chelsea. I would take the same in Moscow! We are the best team in England, lets have something special to show us what we already know and win the big-eared cup!

Come on United!

I also had a dream, we won 3-2. Rooney made it 1-0, but it went to extra time, then it was 2-2 (Ronaldo scored) before Saha scored in the closing stages.

Bizarrely in my dream I missed the match and ended up watching 2 minute highlights on the internet. Rubbish dream.

not for 60million united fans

2 issues worry me :
- Ronaldo's record against A.cole, is not that good
- Essien's ability in midfield, ironically if grant plays Lampard and Ballack in midfield, most likely essein will start as right back.

I was thinking about this the other day. Ashley Cole usually has a really good game whenever he plays against Ronnie. :(

Just remember the FA Cup final in 2005...... But yeah you're right they usually give eachother a good game

I would like to see Ronnie play on the left wing for a while, as Essien is not the best defensively and will be spending most of his time bombing up the touchline and leaving gaps to be exploited. Fergie will probably think negatively though and play Park on the left just to shackle the rampaging Ghanaian.

I'm going to put on my bad omen trousers now.
Our finals since 1999:

2007: 0-1 vs Chelsea [FA Cup]
2006: 4-0 vs Wigan [League Cup]
2005: 0-0 vs Arsenal (lost on pens) [FA Cup]
2004: 4-0 vs Milwall [FA Cup]
2003: 0-2 vs Liverpool [League Cup]

Haven't done too well against the top teams :nervous:

It was 3-0

They keep talking of 'revenge'. The last team that did that was Roma...and they ended up getting frustrated and went on to lose 2-0 on their own patch.

We've got the 'lucky' dressing room

Can't get away from the fact it is 50 years on from Munich

We owe Chelsea one

We've yet to lose a European Final

All of this doesn't mean we will win...but it evens out some of the 'bad omens' I suppose.

On the other hand we've not lost 2 in a row since forever.
