Manchester United Vs Bayern Munich

If it's Rooney in the hole and Welbeck up top I'm going to be even more mad.

Typical Moyes. Suck all the joy out of football, as always. Drop your creative players and bring in absolute shite.

Sooner we are rid of that cnut the better. Come on Bayern

Wrong forum obviously.

Oh wow sarcasm...What an enlightening tone to bring to the discussion

Sorry, forgot to jump on the bandwagon giving shit to Moyes for things he's not doing.

Normally in the cl when two big teams are playing each other and one team is expected to hammer the other team and win very easily, it doesn't work out that way. Either the match is a close, tense one or the underdog manages to win. Like arsenal vs Barcelona and Bayern over the last few years and also Chelsea vs Barcelona. I have a feeling his will be a closer match than people think, although unfortunately I think Bayern will go through in the end.

Surely it's something like this?

DDG

Jones - Rio - Vidic - Buttner

Carrick - Fellaini

Valencia - Rooney - Giggs

Welbeck

?
Giggs in the middle, Welbeck wide left, Rooney lone striker.

Hoping for a United win here.

But no matter what Liverpool did in 2005 or Chelsea in 2012, I can't see a good outcome out of this. Reason points to win for the visitors. No two ways about it...

Only thing I'd change given how we're set with injuries and so on, I'd probably replace Carrick with Fletcher.

Yea well and anything for Valencia of course.

They're not on the bench
I know, surely though it would be worth a gamble to pick one of them for the bench, if they're fit enough to train I'd imagine they would be fit enough for the bench? It's only a guess though.

As discussed earlier, we've never lost by more than one goal at Old Trafford in Europe. It's quite likely we'll be witnessing a bit of history today.

Well, seen as people were saying he could be playing further up front tonight, and I chipped in with saying Moyes would be making more trouble for himself if he did do that, doesn't really constitute as giving him shit.

More like stating the obvious really....But continue with the sarcastic posts. I'm not sure what they are mean't to achieve but I'm sure you have a reason

Not thrilled with that line up I have to say.

Moyes reverts to type yet AGAIN.It's astonishing. The system we tried vs Villa at home that we've now dropped is the same system we tried successfully away at Upton Park and then dropped to disastrous consequences IMO. What is it about the manager who can't even stick with a system that appears to work?

Mental post.

If he'd kept the creative players in and they got trounced he'd be getting it tight on here and when he looks to be setting up more defensively against the greatest team in the world he still cops shit. He can't win.

As for wanting your team to lose in a Champions League quarter final...

It'll probably be a flat midfield three, it didn't work against City, interesting to see Moyes revert back to it tonight, if that is indeed the team.

Not being funny but City ripped us apart and they are half the side Bayern are. This isn't going to be pretty.

Meh, I would have gone with Fellaini in the hole, Moyes might as well play to his (limited) strengths. No Kagawa is pretty stupid though.

Bayern aren't playing a striker? Müller will surely fill in there as false nine?
Müller is a striker when he plays that role. He will move a lot, mostly drift wide, but he's nothing like a false 9.

Forced into playing that defence due to injuries, but why isn't Kagawa playing? He deserves a chance and we could use him to help maintain possession the few times we're likely to get it. Fellaini has been abysmal against all the big teams this year, I expect that trend to continue.

Perversely at least we know if it works and we play well tonight, we'll never, ever play this system again

Mint replies to my post lads. Wrong forum? Not at all. I hope they completely show us up to be as average as the manager we have cluelessly frantically waving his arms around on the touch line. My grandad, a red since the 30's every time he sees him on the touchline turns away in disgust.

Wanting the best for your club is not short term qualifying for a semi final, it's ridding yourself of a football vampire

Valencia vs Alaba will be an important match up.

I don't think he'll produce the goal or the cross we need but I think he's the only one physically capable of matching up to Alaba.

De Gea

Jones Ferdinand Vidic Buttner
Valencia Fellaini Carrick Welbeck

Giggs

Rooney

.............................................................................................

Muller

Ribery Kroos Schweinsteiger Robben

Lahm

Alaba Boateng Martinez Rafinha

Neuer

He can play the role doing everything - playing striker, winger, no. 10 - you never know...

Or a ghost...

Line up is fine already from giggs.

Why giggs. He'll get walked over

Wanting the best for your club is to beat Bayern Munich tonight. Anything otherwise is completely daft, this result will do nothing to change the board's mind, especially if City and Liverpool didn't.
