i think we should switch things up and see if cleverley can really shine in this system without herrera ... would love to see kagawa get a start and really try to give the manager a headache as to who gets the #10 spot. went with keane as i really think he can break through this year. hoping for better games from shaw and rafa. and i can see hernandez doing well in stretching the defence so we can be on the front foot.

....smalling keane evans....
shaw cleverley fletcher rafa
.......... kagawa................
......rooney.. hernandez.....

would like to see some of the younger lads come on and get mins aswell.

Reckon Lingard or Zaha might get a start. What dya think?

I think Van Gaal should give Zaha an opportunity, he has the talent and a high transfer fee.. Worse than Young's and Valencia's level last season is highly impossible.
Its debatable if he has the talent first of all, but most reports are consistent in saying he doesn't have the attitude and work ethic. Saw a tweet this morning say on Friday they were told training is optional, but they all still came other then zaha. Whether its true or not is another story, but there's been multiple people say stuff like he has a shit attitude. It's not even like he's really talented to make up for it.

As long as Herrera starts don't really care about the rest.

Last year I ran into financial difficulty and I missed a couple of interest payments on the mortgage. The last year has been mentally horrible but with the anouncement of Van Jaal and the performance against Galaxy I'm feeling a little more happy. Then to come on to the site and see the new look matchday thread...Its the happiest I've been in ages.

I know this is not the thread for this message but I sincerely mean everything I said,
Thankyou to whoever created the new matchday thread, you've made my life a bit more bearable.

Well, shit man. Only can get better from here. Hopefully the worst is behind.

Disappointing. He was gash last year and you'd have thought a proper pre-season would have helped him in that respect but it's the same story with this guy after what looked like him turning a corner. Made of glass.

And absolutely no one is surprised.

According to some on here though it was Only Moyes who was making him and some others injury prone.

It's really getting frustrating with Rafael. And it's such niggles every time as well whether in game or in training.

Hopefully this'll finally force the club to buy a proper back up/competition for right back. Rafael is great and I love him but we could possibly do better anyway. Carrick injury has come at a good time too, it'll force us to buy another centre mid.

Name a better RB that we could realistically buy that would automatically become number one choice at RB.

FWIW, I don't think we need to buy anyone for the position, I have seen enough of Janko and Varela to know that one of them is at the very least, an able back-up right now.

I'm not a scout mate, so I can't off the top of my head. You're getting me wrong anyway, I love Rafa. He just needs competition like any player does so he doesn't become lazy or complacent - both of which he has shown glimpse of in the past.

That's something I didn't think about, yeah. I like the look of both of them, however I reckon Janko will be made into a winger. Possibly the best wing back of all time under van Gaal even?!

No doubt he needs competition, every player does and at the end of the day, he does in Valencia and as much as we hate it, Smalling and Jones (maybe not so much this season).

I can't accept Rafael being tagged with lazy.

Lazy was perhaps the completely wrong word. I'm tired.
What I mean is, a couple of times I've just got the sense he gets agitated or stroppy if things don't go his way which affects his performance. I remember the City game 2 seasons ago where we lost 2-1 at home and Rafa had a stinker. He gave up in a way... got way out of position, made bad tackles, stopped running at all sometimes. That's complacency - possibly a bad example because he had a bad game but still.

Please don't suggest Jones or especially Smalling as a back up right back. They just can't. Imagine playing Smalling as a wing back in Louis' 3-5-2 formation
