Manchester United upgrade contact with Pep Guardiola, sources say

If I cared about our current results you would be right, unfortunately I don't. I just don't trust the rebuilding plans, I'm allowed to have an opinion right?
The problem is that I had doubts about the plans for almost 11 months now and while the results were decent, I was of the opinion that I was wrong to be worried, now I am more and more skeptical.

It's amazing isn't it?

It's not working. Visibly not working. Yet if you point that out you're spoiled. It's like someone taking over a construction build from a company who have fecked it up, spend a load more...feck it up themselves but saying 'Oh well let them carry on, see what happens'.

People are showing loyalty for the sake of it. Not because we are actually showing any signs of improvement. I don't mind people having that. But to go running around telling everyone else they need to agree or are they are some spoiled glory fan is both misguided and senseless.

I'm not overly concerned with the results...they have been average but it happens. I am worried to the core that we are basically going backwards. Then we are seeing a system that quite obviously doesn't work....not work some more...and then doing the same thing.

Awful from top to bottom.

I hope Thiago will feel betrayed by Pep and Bayern and makes his mind up to join de Gea at United to compete for the best bromance against Mata and Ander.

Yeah, that's the only reason I'm arguing with the pro LVG, I don't want to see him fired because it's his last job, I want him to be successful with United, I discovered football with his Ajax team and I want to see him go on the high. The pro LVG are oblivious to our actual situation, they don't see that we have not moved in the last 18 months, the club spent a ton of money for no results, and by results I'm talking about the collective performances, as a team we are stagnating.

People are just so desperate to look like uber classy fans. Simple as.

Fact is, I pay my money, go up and down the country, spend shiteloads on following my football club and have a right to say it's not fecking well good enough without some tosser trying to point out to me what being a fan should be all about.

It's not that we are stagnating. It's the fact we are getting worse. Having spent an absolute fortune. fecking hell could you imagine the    on here if this were City?

We are a mess. Simple as. An expensive mess.

He will go to City I can bet with you. His close friend Bergiristan is there so it would be better for him. City is a fair safer place for his legacy

I think you're right but it's not the slam dunk people are presuming due to Soriano and Txixi. My issue is I do not believe we've fought hard enough. We're sitting back watching it unfold.

Getting him is worth multiple Neymars. I hope we throw everything at the chance.

Do everything we can to get him here. Imagine passing on a chance to sign Messi because we decided to give Rooney another year. Seriously seriously dumb if we persist with LvG if Pep is available.

You need someone with plans, not a manager who just manages on a match to match base, and you need to give him a chance to execute his plans. It seems obvious to me that LvG is much more qualified for this kind of job than Guardiola, but the fact is that the choice for Van Gaal has been made. If now the fans start moaning not even halfway, influenced by the press of course, loud enough to change the manager, then it seems to me this club can't handle a man with a plan. Not LvG and not Guardiola.

You need someone with good plans, having just a plan isn't enough, you also need someone able to execute the plans. And Van gaal didn't convinced me with both. There is nothing else to say

Edit: And I will add that LVG doesn't have clear plans anymore, because 18 months ago his plan was to implement a 352, he failed to do so and stumbled on an arguably successful 433, that he decided to destroy for a 4231 during the summer. So Van gaal is actually on his second plan and he is failing for the second time to implement it.

At the start of the season I wanted LVG to stay for 3 years as planned. Now I see that we have not continued our development and that he just cant solve our issues. If Pep is available, we have to do everything possible to get him on board in the summer

Would Guardiola pick City over us though? An Arab oil club who's fans couldn't fill a Wetherspoons over us? I mean they have the finances and players but we're no slouches on either department too (a bit less fortified on the players front, but that's something he'd surely be allowed to fix).

Balague on which club out of City, United and Chelsea Pep is most suited for: "I feel it makes a lot of sense to go to Manchester City if it's a position that is available which it clearly isn't at the moment. For me, Manchester City is the biggest football project in the world so he could have the same effect Di Stefano had at Real Madrid or Alex Ferguson had at Manchester United if he was given the opportunity to do that at Manchester City but its a big if as the position isn't available."

Pep will announce he's leaving Bayern at the end of this season, Ancelotti will go to Bayern this summer to replace Pep. Pep will wait and see whats happening with United before he decides to go to city, this will happen in the summer once we indicate we want to stick with LVG. LVG will get sacked this time next year. City sign Messi the following summer.

Sack Van Gaal immediately - put Giggs in temp charge and tell Pep the job's his in June.

Why is Ballague such a clown? While Pep himself repeatedly states that he doesn't see himself as another Ferguson and only wants to stay at a club for 3 - 4 years maximum a wild Ballague appears and pulls a random Ferguson comparison.

I don't think he cares about their history, they're a better club to manage right now by an absolutely huge distance. We've been run awfully for the past two years and the place where we are now is quite challenging, I genuinely cannot think of a single big club like United who'd find themselves in such awful position through such terrible management in recent times.

I know Milan are pretty crap right now but at least they have an excuse of having literally no money to spend. Bayern back when they missed out on Champions League in 2007 was probably the worst in recent times but that was only last season and they got back to the top through top class signings immediately.

City have a good team with solid core, just bought players who will be central to the team for a long time (Streling, De Bruyne), have some top class players who are far from finished at this level (Silva, Kompany, Aguero) and could probably allow him to spend hundreds of millions on new signings. It's a no brainer now.

He isn't talking about longevity but influence, that's why he mentioned Di Stefano.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!:(

Marca saying that Pep won't sign a new contract with Bayern, despite apparently offering him a very lucrative contract.

Surely Custis is as unreliable as they get?

Also, if that's the case we should make it apparent that fans don't approve of his football. It may sound a bit spoilt, but if we're bored and annoyed by the football we have every right to complain.

Blimey, going from plane banners to telling managers we don't approve of their football before they're even here.

I don't think anyone knows. You could easily see him taking another sabbatical after leaving Bayern.
