Manchester United upgrade contact with Pep Guardiola, sources say

If Pep goes to city then we are well and truly screwed.

I've said it before but you have to question the clubs ambition if they keep LVG another season. He should be sacked or reach a mutual agreement
 
City get Guardiola, Chelsea get Simeone and Liverpool with Klopp.

If that happens then Woodward should be sacked too.

We need to be ruthless and start looking for a new manager right now. That doesn't mean Van Gaal has to be sacked.

How else you plan on getting rid of him?

Be really distant and hope he breaks up with us?

I think he means in terms of agreeing deals with prospective managers to take over in the summer, similar to what City have allegedly done with Guardiola. Then when the time comes get rid of van Gaal if he won't go willingly.

I mean start looking for a new manager right away whilst he is in the job. Then tell him to go at the end of the season.

Which is what a lot of teams do. They already have a plan in place. Where as I suspect our board will end up sacking him and then all the main targets will end up getting taken.

City did it with Mancini. Chelsea did it with FSW.

From that, Guardiola to City has been pretty much a cert since the summer, they just delayed things by a year by doing the Girona deal which was a sweetener to Guardiola's brother. There'll be complaints about how we've missed out, but it's something City have been working on for years
 
We are not getting Guardiola. No chance. Our only hope is getting Ancelotti before someone else does and it looks like LVG will keep his place until the end of the season unless were out of the top 4 race. I hold no hope that we appoint a world class coach until the end of the season at the earliest.

Right we should just give up then and take up womens basketball.

So whats the plan for Peps successor should he take over United and leave after 3 seasons? Has anyone thought this out yet? Because he wont stay at United longer than that, or City for that matter.

Said he speaks to Pep's entourage regularly.

It seems like it's been a long term plan and approach from them. The fact there is people in the City board who are really close to him also helps.

City are big favourites to land him.
 
Says Peps plan is to manage United for 4 years then Brazil for the Qatar World Cup.
 
I guess it depends on what he sees are more of a challenge.

Winning the Champions League with City, getting United back on top and being the saviour post-Fergie or earning more money. We just have to hope he is romantic and traditional as everyone seems to think he is.

Big fan of Graham Hunter and he has some good connections but he was well off the mark with Thiago to United so I'll take that with a pinch of salt
 
We have to get him in. He would choose us over City I think but it's whether we go for him or stick with Van Gaal.

Spanish outlets are 100 percent certain he's going to City, whilst we stick with LVG and wait for Giggs. We are finished.

No we're not ffs. Our destiny and health as a football club is not dependent on whether Guardiola comes. If he does cool. If not we'll be fine, as the dozens of clubs across the planet not being managed by Guardiola are. Get a grip you cnuts

Yeah that's the guy, the one that said were now in a position to offer terms to Thiago.
