Manchester United transfer news and rumours for summer 2014

They're showing a repeat of the MUTV chat with Ogden and Curtis.

edit: it ended

Curtis said clubs are adding 10m to a player's valuation when they see Manchester United coming because we're desperate.

Well we shouldn't have finished 7th. Just pay the £10m..

Well the only thing that ends that desperation is to bite the bullet and pay up the money because we got into this shit by haggling over few millions for successive summers stockpiling overpriced shit like Young, Fellaini and Anderson . If we don't pay up now we will finish seventh again, next season they will another £15m but by then the will be stuck in a pit of mediocrity, financially it will catch up with us eventually so we need to address this now .

That's what happens when you tell the press you are going to spend 200 million. Which was only said to keep fans/season ticket holders calm during our disastrous season. They never intended to even spend half that much.

Now any player we want will be worth almost twice as much to us. Clubs will say: "you have 200 million, pay up"

I can't believe this David Luiz thing, how come Chavs just get business done & we just don't get business done? No, or hardly any, leaks, rumours or made up stories, just business done quick and simple.

That shows how there's an outdated culture at United about how to get business done that must be shunted away once and for all. Fergie's also to blame in some extent for holding up to foolish ideals at the very end when the whole reality of the game has changed.

Selling, to a club who have no issues paying what you want, is far easier than buying players tbf.

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has told De Telegraaf that signing for Manchester United is "not an option."

Reports have suggested that new United manager Louis van Gaal could target his Dutch compatriot Robben as he looks to get the Red Devils back on track next season.

However, Robben, 30, has stressed he is happy at the Allianz Arena, having signed a new contract with the Bundesliga champions in March.

De Telegraaf quoted the former Chelsea player as saying about a possible transfer to United: "That's not an option. I'm staying with Bayern Munich. Period.

"I cannot imagine why Bayern would want to lose me. I just renewed my contract and we are happy with each other.

"It's very different when you're not completely happy. I had a fantastic time with Van Gaal at FC Bayern and know what I have with him.

"Van Gaal and Guardiola are the best trainers I have worked with. I feel good so will stay where I am. The chance is zero that I make the switch."

---------

That was the ESPN translation - I add the real source from De Telegraaf, which I put into the google translator:

The good relationship between Louis van Gaal and Arjen Robben ensures that pressure is speculation about a transfer of Robben to Van Gaals new club Manchester United. German and English media "That's not an option ," said the striker of Orange in the training camp in Portugal Lagos resolutely . " I'll stay with Bayern Munich. Ready . Point . Incidentally, I can not imagine that Bayern would lose me . I just renewed my contract and we are happy with each other , "said the reserve captain ."Look , it's very different when you 're not completely happy . I would certainly open to it , because I had a fantastic time with Van Gaal at FC Bayern and know what I have to him . It is very important for my career . Anyway , the fact is that I'm at a club where my family and I have great time . "" Van Gaal and Guardiola are the best trainers with whom I worked . So yes , I feel good and stay where I am . The chance is zero that I make the switch , "said Robben , who thinks that Van Gaal will succeed in England. "I think Manchester United have done . Put a gold " in Lagos Daryl Janmaat did yesterday for the first time with the group training with it .

They did tie up the Costa deal very early and easily though. And that wasn't an easy deal to tie up. He hasn't even played the CL final with his old team yet.

Paying a clause is pretty easy.

According to one of my mates Barcelona are linked with Mata this morning. I can't find any news about it so convinced he's only trying to wind me up. Even if they are letting Xavi, Pedro and Sanchez go surely we wouldn't sell Mata to them.

He knew we were a long way off the pace when he signed so not like he expected Champions League football. Even if Van Gaal doesn't use a no. 10 in his teams, Mata can drift in from wide positions.

All speculation is idle right now. Whatever deals Moyes had lined up mean nothing now Van Gaal's in.

The new boss comes with a rep of doing things his own way and he won't let players be forced on him eg Tymoshuck. I reckon we will only get a real idea of who we want now once Van Gaal's World Cup is up.

Then what about United representatives just STFU and pay the target's clause if any? All I can say is that our backroom people have a genuine culture of being shite and fecking up on the transfer market.

What United target has a clause? except Fabregas (200m)

Sometimes I wonder why I even come into this thread. Christ.

Go on, name a target of ours that has a release clause.

People do realise that it's not even the 1st of June yet right?

Say that to Chelsea and PSG having no qualms about leaking out confirmed deals in a short notice, especially one involving a player who will play the most important game of his life later today.

Here's the article. Caughtoffside are citing AS as source. I know in 2010 when Barca agreed to buy Villa from Valencia there were numerous reports claiming they had actually agreed to buy both, Villa and Mata. He was indeed linked with them a lot back then.

I just hope it's all bullsheet, Barca can feck right off!

You can cross Hummels off your list as he's even more unavailable than Reus.

Barkley is a no-go as well. They'd want 45 million for him at least.

Ridiculous sum and all but they don't want to sell him so would do anything they could to put off bidders and I seriously doubt he'd want to try and force a move from his boyhood club this early (if at all).

At least it's a clear situation if true. If club wants a young English talent of already solid abilities, the price must be close to 45 millions.

As always, it's a question if club is willing to compete on a transfer market.

I wonder what price Levy would get out of us for Vertonghen? Very expensive option.

If Woodward will at some point incorporate Van Gaal's philosophy of 'it's not about the money' than we could easily throw a solid offer at them and find out.

Unfortunately we know Scooby doo, thanks to recent informational chaos.

I would say we will get either zero or one at most of that list!
