Manchester United transfer news and rumours for summer 2014

Anderson and Fellaini is a must go. Young's contract is ridiculous and unfair for other teammates, club should deal with that soon. Nani's situation looks also cloudy but this one still may have something to offer.

Massive revolution in defense formation is a proof that we may go further with changes and we probably will indeed. Hopefully we'll find places for new additions in time before the season's start.

I would love to see some visible actions being taken after Real Madrid clash. That will close the tour chapter and maybe then Louie will find more time for giving some green lights.

We've got too many players with cloudy futures. Fellaini, Anderson, Nani, Young, Kagawa. All on big wages; which is why no one wants them.
But once they learn they aren't in Van Gaal's plans and won't receive game time they'll drop their wages.

Also plenty of teams will want Kagawa.

It better not be over after the real madrid clash, I have tickets for the final in Miami on Monday.
I am sure he is very aware of what he needs, what is available and who wants to come. I have a naive belief that all deals are already agreed but are dependent on replacement being found.

Most footballers won't drop their wages in exchange for game-time. And in any case it's not as simple as saying "once they learn they are not in Van Gaal's plans", because if they refuse to accept lower wages elsewhere then they remain in your squad (unless demoted to the reserves for the season, which isn't going to happen) ... and if they're in the squad then they're going to get some game time if only by virtue of injuries to other players or the need to rest other players.

You have to laugh a little at United with transfers. We arguably had to do the most work out of anyone with so many holes in the team and players leaving after last season, and yet we've signed only 2 players. Now it's more then usual for us but it's pretty much less then anyone else in the league, or the other top teams. We aren't even seriously linked with anyone really (nothing seems to be happening in the Vidal thing), and it's august. Hope we make a few more signings by the end of the summer because we really need it, especially in defence and one more in midfield.
Woodward should have just stayed quiet rather then go on and on about the money available, gives us false hope :(

Its been a farce with united in the transfer market for years now, it was a joke how the engine room was let to decline in the state it got to between 2009 to 2013, and the 2013/14 season really did cost us big time. We were probably the only club that lost 2 0 to barca in rome, sold ronaldo for 80 million, let tevez go, and signed valencia obertan diouf and owen has a response

After Woodys infamous watch this space comment, I was expecting at least a couple of signings over the last 2 weeks.

Now with a fortnight to go before Swansea I just can't see where the next signing is going to come from.

Surely not another summer full of promise, only to be let down.

So, I wonder what Paddy Crerand has heard from Rooney then? Sounds like we are going to sign someone soon...

But, who could it be?

Vermaelen? Hummels? Vidal? Carvalho? Di Maria? Cavani?

Or a signing "out of the blue"?

It's someone that excites Rooney whoever it is!

No I think he has been told to say it. He's a massive muppet as well is our Paddy!

I hope you are right mate, I'm just keeping my hopes low right now as I doubt we see any movement for at least another week. If Paddy was generally excited though it has to rule out Vermaelen! :D

Yeah I'm trying to do that as well, but agree totally It definitely can't be Vermaelen don't think Rooney would be excited about him coming.

I saw it as a joke.

After being very confident about Vidal i started to lower my expectation. I would love us to sign world class CM and CB but i try to not expecting it.

But will probably still refresh Vidal and twitter thread every 5 minute if something unexpecting happen.

Why would be say Rooney has told him a player we are signing if it was a joke? People of that stature don't joke about that sort of stuff.

He's obviously had a good chat with Wayne and he's asked if we are signing anybody, and he's told him what he knows.

Which is nothing.

Paddy Crerand is wrong most of the time. Said there was no way Fergie was retiring and an hour later it was announced.

Thing is though I think the powers that be have told him to say it! I don't doubt that the conversation has happened but I think after the LVG comment about maybe not needing to sign new players! Trust me something will happen this next 10 days or so!

He only knows because Rooney has told him. you can be wrong 99/100 times, but if told solid info by a decent source what's to ignore?. Do you think he would have hinted if it was a lie?

As I've already said, Rooney isn't a decent source. Players have never been privy to transfer dealings at Old Trafford. They all talk way too much for that.

Look how tight lipped the club is, no leaks anywhere, no way in hell the players are being told anything. Not a chance.

Mitten would already have a video up for a start.

Think Young has saved himself judging by team selections on tour and performances so far. Thought he'd be the first man gone.

Really think Nani is done and Chico is in big danger.

Kagawa and Zaha are 50:50.

Yet one of them told Kingjonno off twitter about Pogba going & RvP signing weeks ahead of any other sources. He also got a few other things spot on, before he started wumming to get better odds for his betting habit. So to say never is wrong!
Van Gaal is building a team & none of us are privy to what he tells the players, so he could well have said something. Or maybe we're getting a Real player who told Rooney directly.

Err.... yeah because Pogba knew he was leaving and the club had nothing to do with it. It's also already been mentioned that Ferguson broke habits to ask Giggs and Scholes how the dressing room would react to bringing in Van Persie.

Ferdinand has said loads of times on Twitter that the club don't tell the players anything and the summer is just as exciting to them as it is to any other fan.

I am hoping we see a few departures soon.

Kagawa, Nani, Young, Fellaini, Cleverley, Fletcher could all go

Outside of Nani and Fellaini, why would any of them go? We need Cleverley for squad depth and the rest of them have all been great in pre-season.
