.

Ronaldo got two at Highbury in that as well I think. I prefer it too, though Vodafone's quite a distracting sponsor.

But then the one I like has SHARP VIEWCAM on it, which is even more of a mouthful. I reckon part of it is the nostalgia thing. Though I think blue & yellow work with black better than red personally.

The fact the shorts are also black helps too.

However this holds a special place in my heart purely because it represents our CL winning season...

I love everything about this shirt. The simplicity, the nostalgia and most of all, the metallic name and number design. I'm currently trying to get my hands on a replica complete with CL final badge in the middle and sides with Ronaldo printing on the back. If anyone has any good websites, that would make me a good replica, please send them over!

Yup that's the one, distinctly remember Rooney scoring from outside the box in it, and then cupping his ears towards the Kop, brilliant.

For some reason, the biggest moment I associate with this kit was when Giggs was walking up to take his penalty in the shootout. I remember thinking then "Wow I really like year's kit". I could do without the skunk stripe, but from the front, it was very smart.

My only real problem with that kit (as will all of nike's recent efforts) is the sew on patch for the crest. If your going to do that (and I understand it's probably much easier for the malnourished little kiddies on 2p a day) then at least disguise it in a design. Like the 06/07 kit for example with the shield. It just looks tacky.

Must admit i really really liked last season's. Ok it doesn't represent much positivity, but i think the simplicity of it all just makes it look classy. The black collar, no pointless different-colored netting, AON's simply logo, nothing on the sleeves, the black devil on the back, the checked detail under the collar... My favorite for a while. I used to like some of the early Nike ones for us, but they've aged poorly, i think the simplicity of last season's sill keep it looking nice for some time.

I hated last seasons. I hate collars on football jerseys alone. Also the material was that "net" type which I'm not fond of at all. I still bought it though.

I think our new one is the best we've had since the tablecloth one. I know everyone hates the yellow cross on the front but for me, it blends in with the yellow on our crest and I think it's about time we had some yellow on our kit.

Saw the new kit in person for the first time today and it really does look cheap. The fit is awful too with really baggy sleeves, American style.

The home one? I think it looks pretty good, a nice fit. Of course, I'm very much not a fan of the skintight-style shirts that are popping up these days. Especially when they have weirdly wide neck-holes like Arsenal's new home kit. Makes them look more ballet leotard than football shirt, and is probably actually less flattering on a well-built footballer.

That kit was so damn good. The year we had that, the home kit with the black collar and the green & gold 3rd kit. Shame we won feck all that season, though.

I have the green and gold kit coming in the mail with Cantona on the back :) (oh and I'm not anti-Glazer before anyone says it, I just like the colors and tribute to the Newton Heath days)

I wish they would do another green and gold kit. Its been so long and it would be awesome IMO. If you ask me, that should always be our third kit every few years.

Where you getting the old one from?

Would love a new green and gold, I guess it's not possible with the anti-Glazer bollocks.

Yeah it's clearly the most memorable black kit we've had.

The colour scheme for that design looks all wrong. It's as if we are trying to replicate Spain's kit and the gold and red doesn't really go well together, particularly with the yellow in the badge also. As someone else said, change the gold to white and it could make quite a difference.

That made up kit above would look much better with Gold Pl winners badges on the sleeves..;)

Will pick up our new kit this week.. Was going to order online today but with the reviews here on fitting, I suppose I'm going have to go to JD to get it.

Got to agree 100% with you on those.

Ebay for an original 07-08. Don't think you'd get a far east replica for one of those.

I disagree think its a lovely kit, I get bored of the cheap looking contrast colour schemes.

Thats not a bad design for the most part but the colour scheme is off slightly, it looks worse because of the poor photoshop work on the gold trim, which looks more like beige or very light brown. If it was proper gold it would look much better as gold and red always go well together.

Few people mentioned they wouldn't like a united kit to have a gold trim, well bad news with adidas we will most likely have a gold trim at some point they have done it with real, chelsea and swansea off the top of my head. I think they will probably cycle between white, black & gold for the 3 stripes trim on the home shirt.

I can do without any yellow or gold leaf embellishments. Our colors are RED, BLACK and WHITE.

Gold trim at some point with adidas is inevitable, true the clubs colours are red white black but gold is on the the club badge so its not so bad, it wouldn't look out of place like purple or something.

Why do you say that? I quite like the gold trim btw. I'm just generally interested. Is it because Bayern and Chelsea had it recently?

I'd like us to bring back the red socks next season.

I have no problem with gold trim personally, i actually quite like the Milan shirt with gold stripes. Just seems to be a few people who are really averse to it, and im just putting it out there that it will almost certainly happen with adidas so its better to get used to the idea.

Umbro and Nike had bits of gold trim on shirts over the years so its not as if its something new.

On the red socks i wouldn't be in favour of that to be honest too much like liverpool imo, plus we only ever wore red socks for a few years in the 60's it's been black for most of our history.

I'd assume the gold trim only comes in a season after winning something, didn't Chelsea get theirs after the CL win?

Nah i don't think so Milan had gold stripes last season and they never won anything the season before.

From what I can see, the underside of the collar on the away top looks a lot better than the outer.

We need a team of Cantonas.
