Manchester United 0:1 Atletico Madrid (Sat 30th July, 12:45 UK time)

Pellistri looks miles better than Elanga so far
Keep saying this kid is not united class not yet needs a PL loan deal and we need two additions in our attacking options immediately. I think this ETH saying to the board even I can’t polish a turd, yes I can make them run more, work harder instal discipline but at the highest level in Europe and the PL you need game changers !
let’s hope the board get Antony deal done in the next 10 days

Not ideal given it's most of the team that will start next Sunday.
Disagree. Sancho in some of Elanga situations and we could have score at least one.

This has been an encouraging game despite the likely loss.

That's a good finish, but Dalot has to try and play him outside. Just don't think he's good enough.
Again. Who the hell are the people teaching defenders at grassroots level nowadays? It's something that needs to be taught and hammered at a very young age.

Back on the game, Morata is a cnut.

This ref is terrible at game management, let Atletico to rough around the whole game and try to make it up now.

You could see it coming, to be fair.
Still, for the most part I enjoyed our game. Really liking our pressing, seems like we've done alot of work in that area especially in winning the second balls.
Chosen some interesting passing options too, some have come off some haven't but its all part of our development.

Yet when Reinildo pushed Elanga over and then landed with his studs on Elanga's calf it wasn't even a foul. I mean I'm not complaining about this decision, it's just that they never would've got it.

MUTV trying to control the narrative that it's just pre-season, ignoring the fact that we seem to be treating this as a real game and are much further along in our pre-season preparation.

Yeah and if you watch the Liverpool game back they were completely opposite

Donny's been atrocious. I'm all for giving him chances and I've been defending his case during the Ole years, but at some point he's got to grab the chance when he gets on the pitch and get himself involved in the game rather than expecting the game to come to him. It's obvious to see when Eriksen's come in at the same time in the same position and been heavily involved from the first second.

Not atrocious, just invisible. Invariably when he is on the ball he is nice and tidy, if limited, but if he isn't making runs into the box and scoring goals what does he really bring?

Anyone remembers a long time ago when I think Rooney had a red card in a friendly and there were talks that he'd be banned in the league.

Yeah because dominating Atletico Madrid for 85 minutes and ending up losing 1-0 is the same as playing against Brighton. Play how we did today against Brighton and we will get all 3 points.
I tend to agree no reason for knee jerk reactions not yet, but the board must do more for the manager with new signings
