Manchester City banned from CL for 2 seasons and fined 30 million euros | CAS - Ban lifted, fined 10 million

This should work in the same way as player appeals - if there's no valid reason to appeal it should be lengthened !

Their "entitled" fans hardly show EUFA any respect so they should get what they deserve.

I still expect 1 year and a shit load of money fine....

They won't be exonerated. We already know there's foul play - they haven´t even bothered to deny it.

They may (will) get away with it on a technicality, as the information was obtained through hacked material.

He's a complete City fanboy and it's worth mentioning that a lot of the City journalists were briefing how confident City were before the original decision and look at how that turned out. The City reporter at The Athletic for example said City kept telling him they were conifident UEFA had no case against them and it would be fine.

Don't get worked up, maybe City will buy their way out of this but this guy has no knowledge about it he's just taking a guess.

How is that any different to what UEFA do? I doubt they will be penalized.

Cheeseman is best mates with Txiki Begiristain, seen them in my local a few times. City fans have a motto, ‘if it’s Cheese, give it a squeeze’. Basically he’s the most reliable City source out there.

Cheeseman’s a massive WUM but even if he’s correct it shouldn’t matter, we should be gunning for top 3 anyway to make the verdict irrelevant to us, which we seem to be doing at the moment.

What do you say to the fact that similar noises were made prior to the original ban decision? It all feels like a PR ploy as CAS would not have leaked anything to either party if the appeal decision is anyways expected on Monday. Just because the City arguments "sounded" good doesn't mean that the UEFA arguments were bad.

Similar noises were not coming from Cheeseman prior to the ban so it’s irrelevant. The Cheese hath spoken.

As others have said, we need to get top 4. We can't stop others breaking the rules but we can ensure we're giving ourselves the best possible chance.

They’ll get away with it because they’re corrupt feckers who will pay whoever they need to to ensure they get the decision they want. Money talks in this world, and there’s no justice. So it’s really completely irrelevant what’s right or wrong. We should all be aware of this by now.

In all seriousness Cheeseman is a very dull guy, he’s not one to post speculation and he likely will have contacts at the club. I think the noise at the minute is quite clearly indicating City will be exonerated. Not heard one peep about a favourable outcome for UEFA and you can rest assured there’d be enough journos out there giddy at the prospect of sticking the knife in.

Just aim for top 4. Win every single game from now on. Leicester will slip up. Don’t rely on City’s potential punishment, we’re better than that.

How would City already know the decision? Usually with court decisions, provided there are no leaks, the final decision will only be known when the official decision is released to the public (thinking of the US Supreme Court for example) and both the plaintiff and defense would learn it the same day as the public. Before that happens, everything is just speculation.

Thats because City have their reporters, media fans etc with City leanings.
The reason there aren't opposite noises is because UEFA hasnt got reporters in its pockets or has hopeful twitter accounts passing on grapevine info with false hope.

Is anyone even worried at this point about us not getting top 4? Between our current form and the EL route we should be sorted

It’s normal to be worried, potential transfers are on the line and we’ll probably need the funds from CL qualification. Having said that I have a good feeling about it but I’m still worried.

Exactly this.

If they do get away with it, there should be some real questioning of how this has leaked out.

Yes UEFA that immensely powerful institution in football has no sycophantic sports journalists to call upon.

Cheeseman? Tick. Sinclair? Tick. Now we just await Keith Curle’s confirmation and it’s happy days!

There is a rumour going around that the decision is already conveyed the club and Uefa, and that it is only the official public statement on monday.

I am not 100% we can get top 4, but if we really do need to I think it will motivate them further to go and doit.

How would they know the outcome of a decision by an independent body before the verdict is given out? BS

We can't be complacent.

We've drilled out 4 wins with a +12 GD and STILL aren't even in the top 4. So there's certainly zero guarantees

Call me naive but right now we look real good as a team. Even without CL qualification this season I can see a few good players signing up to take us back to hearing the CL anthem on Wednesday night (the absolute most important thing in the world apparently)

Fair enough on the financial end.

UEFA don't even know so they can't tell anybody what the decision will be.

CAS are independent.
