Man City players all wearing Gundogan shirts tonight

Minute 5:15, Sanchez sees Bravo and then notices the Gundogan shirt and asks him about it.

Maybe someone who understands Spanish can translate what they're saying.

This sort of thing commonly occurs among clubs in the Primera Liga, Pep is trying to create a culture of team unity - the mocking of it reveals the cultural gap left to bridge

ha ha, "team unity" isn't wearing a bunch of t-shirts you are forced to wear, that's fake PR nonsense.

Can you show me a few example of this is in La Liga @FCBarca ? Did Atlético do this for Augusto some weeks back?

Taken to its natural conclusion teams would be wearing tribute shirts every week, injuries are common enough. It would not, however, be a unprecedented gesture if Gundogan had racially abused a United player.

Just like with Hargreaves (when we signed him), it's a gamble that looks like it hasn't paid off.

I wonder what similar injury ridden players that have moved for relatively big money have failed (and in the other side of the coin, succeeded)? I'm guessing most of these sorts of signings fail?

Omg this was so disgusting. Gundagon has joined city like 5 months back and they do this for him. Definitely cringeworthy this. If Chelsea would have done this for Zouma last season, I would feel ashamed for it. It's just a fecking injury for a player who has played 5 months for your club and who is already injury prone anyways.

Whatever anyone thinks of it, and I must admit I found it a little cringeworthy myself, it most definitely wasn't "disgusting" and it's hardly anything to feel "ashamed" about. Those are the kind of words you'd reserve for the the child sex abuse story in football that's been broken in the past month and as a Chelsea fan, you might want to reserve those words for the alleged pay-off your club made to one of the victims in the past few years rather than footballers wearing shirts in support of an injured team-mate:nono:

ACL injuries and being on the shelf for up to a year is not a weekly event

This was the players idea and it reveals nothing. It was just unusual and mildly funny (even Gundogan joked about it) but if they continue to do this every time one of their players gets seriously injured then fair enough.

Pep burns half of the stadium.
Barca fans: "Pep was trying to explain to the players they should play with more fire. People being shocked clearly shows that English arent suited to those kind of things."

It certainly happens in La Liga, and it's season-ending injuries like ACL injuries or major leg breaks that usually triggers it.

Wasn't Delph injured for a long period of time this season? Did he get a similar treatment?

So Hull are wearing Mason t shirts while warming up today. What are people's thoughts?

In addition to it being a far more serious situation, I also find it less cringeworthy that Hull wore them A) during the warmup instead of during the walkout and B) the proper way round instead of the way City did it, which made them all look like 5 year olds who'd gotten to school without their mums noticing their shirts were on backwards.

Classier than City doing it as Ibra's career is most likely over as a result.

His career is not over. Maybe at United, but Ibra is such a strong, fit and professional dude we've not seen the last of him. The guy is in better shape and healthier than most 25 year olds.

This is a major injury though and one that younger people struggle to recover from, i'd say there's more a chance of his career being over than not to be honest.

I've got to admit my main reason for thinking City's was so cringe was the fact the names were on the front.

Well that puts the end to anyone thinking players read the forum, kinda cringey, injuries happen in football, this kind of devalues the sentiment of having names of victims names etc on their backs, should really be reserved for tragedies of some kind, not injuries (unless it's horrific in which ends a career).
