Mahrez | Signed with City

OK, was unaware of that. I don't get how this has any traction then. Why would you sell your best player a day before the window closes?

Long shot I know, but Carrasco is supposedly on the transfer list, would you swap those two? Provided you get Carrasco for cheaper than you sell Mahrez for, which I think is feasible.
I'd take Carrasco, I'd also demand Bernardo Silva on loan with City paying his wages, Phil Foden permanently and £100m if they want him this window, but I don't run Leicester City

The same Rashfords thinking. " Hmm competition heating up, better work harder" or something. Don't really see why everybody seems so shocked by this. Mahrez deserves to try himself at a higher level, no one else seems interested to take him.

Rashford is getting plenty of game time, Silva was already a bit part player. This will only make it worse.

Whether he makes it or not at Dortmund, his move would be vindicated if they buy Mahrez.
he's already made his debut for their first team and in the meantime played competitive football for their B team

I can't believe this will happen.
Then again, if City do believe that FFP2 is going to be a problem may as well stockpile players now. Can always sell them in future years to offset cost of buying players and just swallow whatever 'punishment' UEFA manage to muster up (which will not be a lot), or find another £200m sponsorship deal down the back of the sofa.

He's basically been moody and very patchy in terms of his form since they won the league and there are figures like £60-70m being thrown about? Nice work if you can get it.

last season yes, this season he's been back to his best to be fair since Puel came in

I wanted the fecker at old Trafford for our right wing.
Shame the balded cnut won't allow me to dream. Any word from Balague justifying this transfer will make personally come to London and snap his jaw.

Surely alarm bells must be ringing in Marhez's head that they weren't in the slightest bit interested in him until Sane got injured, the lad is only out for 6 weeks, but I suppose Marhez is as desperate to leave, as City are to make sure Pep doesn't have to actually deal with an injury for a while.

I would have loved him here, well, it seems that city are getting him.

I'm not sure City are really strengthening themselves with all these signings. You can only put XI players in a team. None of these signings are particularly top tier.

Personally, I would say the bolded bit is quite generous, given how good he was the year they won the title, but even if you were to accept that, he's basically had three months of good form over the last season and a half. I dunno, I'm really not seeing it, tbh. He's obviously a very good player, but is he really going to be putting it in when he's playing every fourth game?

Well, bigger pay and a club that challenges for trophies. in addition to that, he will definitly get game time and there is a good chance that he could get a starting place in their team.

It looks like he will adapt very well to city's style as he would see a lot of the ball.

Jim White making out £50m is a huge offer LMFAO, also apparently that was City's second bid this window

Would you not concur that Pep inherited a superior squad at City to Jose at United?
A bit better, yes. but not considerably. Pep did have a lot of dead weight to get rid of, and still does. Same goes for jose.

Bernardo isn't a winger. He knows when he signed with City he'll be the David Silva replacement. Just because he can play either in the AML or AMR position doesn't mean he's the most effective there.

As for Mahrez, I don't think it's going to happen. They can't spend anymore without selling players to comply with the FFP. Plus, it's almost the end of the transfer window so this screws Leicester.

Didn't really say he is a winger. Nonetheless there is no need for Mahrez, since B. Silva can play the same position. And I very much doubt Bernardo Silva signed for City to wait a year or more until he can replace David Silva. He needs to play now, especially considering his place in the NT.

I am not shocked either. It seems pointless though.

If we mange to get one of them. the advantage with Mahrez is that he already knows the PL. let's see.

Yep all dependant on that of course! Sorry edited my post but you were too fast for me

I try not to subscribe to the 'media are anti-United' talk usually because frankly every fan says the same about their own club.

However I do doubt that we will read very much, if anything at all, about the spending going on at City. It is ridiculous. We all know that they are doing this to beat the new FFP regulations, but even so I doubt that it will stop anytime soon, and fully expect them to be the largest spenders again in the summer.

Someone mentioned Foden earlier, and it's worth repeating again. That kid is an outstanding prospect but it's difficult to see him getting into this team anytime soon when they are prepared to keep adding to a bloated squad. Given how dominant they are in most games, I would find it difficult to believe that they couldn't use him in Premier League matches while Sane is out.

I do not understand why City is going for Mahrez. they simply do not need him. yes, Mahrez is a good player but they alrady have Sterling and Sane, who will return back in 5-7 gameweeks. ANd they have Phil Foden who looks to be good and surely deserves few chances , especially given Pep's history of developing youth.

If City indeed get Mahrez, I think they will sell Bernardo Silva, they simply do not have space for anymore attackers.

One player gets injured for a couple of weeks and the first thing they do is to buy another one asap. fecking joke of a club.

Of course, that's why we've been hearing these links for ages now..

He's plugging a gap for a short window, or that's very much how it looks anyway.

For the love of football stop trying to shit-can City players with nasty challenges. For every world class player you chop down, Hydra Pep grows two new ones.

They have world class players in de Bruyne, Aguero and D Silva. They have world class potential in Sane. The others like Mahrez (if he signs), Sterling, B Silva, their FBs/CBs etc are above average. That is enough for a team aspiring to win the CL. Once D Silva hangs up his boots and Aguero leaves, expect them to target world class replacements -- I think someone like Griezmann or Hazard next summer is a cert.

Bernardo Silva might be happy sitting on the bench getting the wages he does, and he may think he will get his chance when D Silva retires. We have to accept that there are some players with questionable ambition and who are happy with the paycheck. I am not saying B Silva is like that, but if he stays, then that seems to be the case.

He's not all that. Skillful player with poor attitude and decision making.

Myth of the highest order. Busquets and who else?

When does the window close? Tomorrow? Who could Leicester get to replace Mahrez at such short notice.

Can't see it happening barring a silly offer, City have just paid over 60 million for a defender so Mahrez must be worth nearly double that for them.

Sorry City but I can’t take you seriously any longer. Apart from meetings with us I’m no longer interested in anything connected this club. Nice work Pepe Fraud.
